Following celebrated premieres in 13 cities and rave reviews from critics and audiences across North America, Lighthouse Immersive Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios have announced that Los Angeles will be the next city to premiere Immersive Disney Animation on June 23, 2023.

Mexico City-based Cocolab worked with Dale and the Creative Legacy team at Walt Disney Animation Studios to develop the program for Lighthouse Immersive Studios. Special Projects Producer Dorothy McKim is spearheading the project for Disney Animation. “Having been a part of Disney Animation for over 40 years, I truly consider this one of the great joys within my career, partnering with Lighthouse Immersive to bring our characters, stories, and films to audiences in thrilling and new ways,” said McKim. “Watching the joy and delight the show brings to audiences is what dreams are made of.”

Beyond the unparalleled projection design that Lighthouse Immersive is known for, Immersive Disney Animation is further enhanced by expansive environmental design by Lighthouse Immersive’s Global Creative Director David Korins.

Additional interactive features within the projection show include a responsive floor projection design that moves with the audience and custom bracelets that light up in sync with the projections and are based on the audience’s movements through the galleries. In a particularly show-stopping moment, the Gazillion Bubbles special effects team fills the 500,000 cubic feet of galleries with bubbles.

Ross captures the excitement both Disney and Lighthouse Immersive feel for the project as he describes how it begins: “Just imagine journeying through Zootopia with Judy Hopps, diving to the ocean floor with Ariel, flying on a magic carpet with Aladdin, and stepping into Casita with Mirabel and the family Madrigal. The Nighttime Lights on Hogwarts Castle at Universal Orlando Resort will be down for an extended refurbishment

We have some sad news for Harry Potter plans who are planning an upcoming trip to Universal Orlando Resort: the popular Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle show will be closed for an extended refurbishment.

The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle show is a spectacular display of lights, music, and special effects that illuminates the iconic Hogwarts Castle in a stunning and magical way. The show takes place after dark, and visitors can watch as the castle is transformed into a dazzling display of colors and patterns.

We do not know the exact nature of the refurbishment, nor if the show will return to its current state once the refurbishment is complete. While the announcement of the refurbishment may be disappointing for fans, it is important to remember that these kinds of updates are necessary to keep the attraction running smoothly.

Disney Celebrates Moms of All Species this Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday and Disney is celebrating moms of all species! From our very own mothers to the animal moms across Walt Disney World Resort … including this “a-boar-able” red river hog mom and piglet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Mom Daisy delivered this healthy and spunky piglet last month, and both are spending time backstage bonding. The healthy male, which has not yet been named, joins the seven members of the red river hog family – also known as a “sounder.”

Animal moms, like Daisy, help provide guidance to their young by teaching the skills and behaviors needed to thrive as an adult red river hog. But she’s not doing it all on her own! All members of the family have been pitching in and spending a lot of time teaching the playful piglet how to forage and wallow.

Providing the very best veterinary care is Disney’s top priority, and the team of animal care experts has kept an eye on this adorable little piglet since he was still in the womb.

All animals across Walt Disney World Resort – moms, dads and babies – have the choice to participate in their own health care. Based on her trusted relationships with Disney’s keepers, Daisy would enter a specialized crate during her pregnancy to allow the veterinarians to conduct ultrasounds and monitor her piglet’s health and development during Daisy’s four-month gestation period.

Like some other moms, Daisy likely will spend Mother’s Day relaxing in a mud bath, but not at a spa! Wallowing in mud is an important natural behavior for red river hogs, and the coat of mud that sticks to their fur provides a shield against the sun and provides protection from insects.

What is Lighthouse Point?

PETA called Vol. 3 “an animal rights masterpiece” for depicting the High Evolutionary’s inhumane treatment towards animals and praised the film for — SPOILER warning — showing Rocket and the Guardians rescuing other animals from a similar fate. “PETA wants everyone to know that we can all do the same, simply by speaking out against animal experimentation and demanding that corporations, universities, and government agencies switch to cutting-edge, non-animal research methods,” the organization said.

New Limited Release Toy Story Summer Splash MagicBand+ Available At Magic Kingdom!

Get ready for fun adventures with your favorite Pixar pals while wearing this new Toy Story Summer Splash MagicBand+! The new colorful band can be found at Magic Kingdom for $44.99, as well as, at other retail stores around Walt Disney World.

It features a bright blue base color with an all over pattern featuring Forky, Rex, the Pixar ball, Flamingos and other summer icons. On the center, there is a yellow and white stripped background with one of the Toy Story aliens silhouette in blue.

This is a limited release so if you want to add to your collection, hurry up because there are only a few available!
