Following its successful first season, which took us deep into the world of the TVA- Time Variance Authority, Loki Season 2 made its triumphant return on Disney+ last week.
The second season premiere of “Loki” stands as the second-most-watched season debut on Disney+ in 2023, amassing a global viewership of 10.9 million within its initial three days of streaming on Disney+. This achievement was second only to the season three premiere of “The Mandalorian,” which premiered on Disney+ in March.
Notably, Loki Season 2 starring Tom Hiddleston as the cunning God of Mischief, garnered acclaim not just from its audience but also from critics. The second season of the Marvel Studios series boasts an impressive 88% rating on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, earning it the “certified fresh” label, alongside an outstanding 94% audience approval rating on the same platform.
Since his introduction in the 2011 film “Thor,” Loki has grown to become one of the most adored characters in the vast Marvel Universe. He has played pivotal roles in blockbuster hits such as “The Avengers” in 2012, has an extensive line of popular merchandise available on shopDisney.com, and can even be spotted strolling through Avengers Campus at Disney’s California Adventure.

New Lead Writer / Director Selected for Tiana Animated Disney+ Series
In an exciting development, Disney+ has chosen Joyce Sherri as the lead writer and director for their upcoming animated series, “Tiana,” as exclusively reported by Variety. This series, originally announced in 2020, is a much-anticipated follow-up to the beloved 2009 animated film “The Princess and the Frog,” and it is set to bring the character of Tiana back to life, voiced once again by Anika Noni Rose.
Variety learned that Joyce Sherri has been tapped as the lead writer and director for Disney+’s upcoming animated series “Tiana.” This musical project was initially revealed during a Disney investor day in 2020 and is described as a sequel to the 2009 animated movie “The Princess and the Frog,” which introduced the character Tiana, once again voiced by Anika Noni Rose.

Dole Partners With Disney’s Wish For Healthy Living Initiative
Dole and Disney are partnering up once again for the upcoming release of Disney’s Wish, which arrives exclusively in theaters on Nov. 22, 2023, Asha lives in the fantastical land of Rosas where a magical king promises to make wishes come true.
Dole Food Company will honor this universal spirit of optimism and hope with a six-month initiative that strives to help make the world’s wishes for health, happiness and wellness come true. Through a host of in-store, at-home and virtual activities, the global produce and healthy-living leader will spotlight the anticipated new film and continue the celebration of 100 years of Disney Animation that inspired it.
Dole’s “Making Healthy Wishes Comes True” campaign launches today as the latest manifestation of a health and wellness licensing collaboration with The Walt Disney Company that started in 2016. Continuing through March 31, 2024, this new program includes enchanted recipes, interactive digital downloads, in-store collectible stickers, and a series of inspirational how-to virtual classes sparked by Asha and the other inhabitants of Rosas.
“For 100 years Disney has shown us that there’s no greater magic in the universe than a true wish in your heart,” said Bil Goldfield, Dole’s director of communications. “At Dole our wish is to make the world a healthier place. We are asking believers everywhere to share their wishes of health and happiness with us so they can inspire the world toward a better, brighter tomorrow.”
A special feature of the campaign is a set of six collectible DOLE® Banana stickers and one unique DOLE® Pineapple tag featuring Asha, Star, Dahlia, Valentino, Queen Amaya and King Magnifico from Disney’s Wish on tens of millions of pieces of Dole-branded fruit at supermarkets across North America.
To encourage banana and Disney fans to collect the full set of stickers, Dole will offer the downloadable, printable Dole Peel and Play Sticker and Enchanted Recipe Book featuring spaces for each sticker and a character-inspired appetizer, snack, dessert or smoothie recipe created by Melanie Marcus, MA, RD, Dole’s nutrition and health communications manager, and her team. Disney’s Classic Snow White Coming to Disney+ this October in Stunning 4k
Prepare for a cinematic treat as the film that marked the beginning of Disney’s enchanting legacy, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” makes its dazzling debut on Disney+ in a stunning 4K restoration on October 16. This cinematic masterpiece is presented as part of the celebratory festivities for The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary.
The meticulous restoration work was a collaborative effort led by the Walt Disney Studios Restoration and Preservation team, in close collaboration with key artists from Walt Disney Animation Studios. This dynamic team, which recently garnered acclaim for restoring Walt Disney’s 1950 animated classic, “Cinderella,” has once again worked their magic to breathe new life into the 1937 classic, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
Renowned Disney Animation artists Michael Giaimo, known for his work on “Frozen” and “Frozen 2,” and animator/director Eric Goldberg, the creative force behind projects like “Pocahontas” and “Fantasia/2000,” were delighted to reunite with their colleagues at Walt Disney Studios for this extraordinary restoration project. The result is a visually stunning and pristine version of the timeless tale that has captivated audiences for generations.
“The opportunity to help restore Snow White was both an honor and a challenge,” said Goldberg. “As the very first Walt Disney feature, Mike Giaimo and I felt we owed a debt to history to get it looking as beautiful, and as accurate to the original colors, as we could. The muted palette and the delicate watercolor backgrounds evoke the illustrated fairy tales that Walt so loved, and the story and characters continue to resonate to this day. I hope our work inspires future generations of animation artists to fully appreciate the masterful talent and care that has gone into this landmark film.”
Kevin Schaeffer, director of Restoration for Walt Disney Studios, said. “We are incredibly excited to go back to Walt’s original negative and use current state-of-the-art technology to restore this stunning classic to its original beauty.”
“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” stands as one of the greatest triumphs in animation history, as the first full-length cel animated feature in the history of motion pictures. The film was recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences with a special honorary Oscar® – one large Oscar accompanied by seven smaller ones – which was presented to Walt Disney by Shirley Temple. The film is the highest-ranked animated feature on the American Film Institute’s “100 Years…100 Movies” list, and was inducted into the National Film Registry in the registry’s inaugural year, 1989.

Location Revealed for EET by Maneet Chauhan at Disney Springs
EET by Maneet Chauhan, a new quick-service restaurant, will be coming to Disney Springs at Walt Disney World soon! The location of the new dining spot was recently revealed.
The new EET by Maneet Chauhan will be situated in the Marketplace section of Disney Springs and will share the same larger building as Disney’s Days of Christmas shop.
The dining location will be near EARL OF SANDWICH and isn’t far from Goofy’s Candy Co. and Rainforest Cafe; it’s also quite close to the Marketplace bus loop. It’s scheduled to open later this year but no set date has been announced. The restaurant will serve modern, fun Indian-inspired cuisine.
EET is owned by Maneet Chauhan from ‘Chopped’ and her husband, entrepreneur Vivek Deora. Chauhan has been the executive chef of several restaurants in Chicago, Nashville, and New York. She’s also won the James Beard Award of Excellence. Her husband, Vivek, owns 23 restaurants across the US.

A new popcorn bucket is coming to Disneyland this holiday season! The Mickey Mouse Toy Soldier popcorn bucket will be marching into the resort next month.
The DisneyEats Facebook account recently shared a look at some of the holiday offerings coming to the Disneyland Resort this year. New among them is a Mickey Mouse Toy Soldier popcorn bucket!
The design of the bucket features Mickey dressed as a toy soldier holding a horn. It comes with a green holiday carrying strap. We can’t wait to get a better look at this new popcorn bucket!
Other holiday novelty items coming to Disneyland include a Kermit Holiday straw clip, Reindeer supper, and a Mickey Mouse-shaped Red Glitter Jingle Bell Glow Cube.

Disneyland Paris Adding Winnie the Pooh and Frozen to Storybook Land
Two new scenes are coming to Storybook Land in Disneyland Paris! Winnie the Pooh and Frozen will be added in 2024 as part of the park’s 30th anniversary.
Since 1994, Le Pays des Contes de Fées has delighted Disneyland Paris guests of all ages with its whimsical atmosphere. This peaceful boat journey is a celebration of beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios stories and fables through music, landscape, and miniatures. Based on an original idea from Walt Disney himself, the attraction is a reinvention of the classic Storybook Land Canal Boats that debuted at Disneyland in 1956. The Paris version has several unique touches with recreations of Night on the Bald Mountain from “Fantasia,” Belle’s Village from “Beauty and the Beast” and Rapunzel’s Tower from “Tangled.”
Before inviting guests to Arendelle over at Walt Disney Studios Park, “Frozen” will come to life in miniature form as one of the familiar fairy tale locales in Fantasyland. Imagineers are closely working with Disneyland Paris Central Shops to create a detailed model of the majestic North Mountain covered in a thick white blanket of snow and Elsa’s iconic Ice Palace at its peak. Guests will even be able to spot Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven on their way to Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post (and Sauna)!
As your boat takes you through these enchanted realms, another timeless place will take root along the way, one full of charm, wisdom and … honey. Think, think, think … it’s the Hundred Acre Woods, of course! Storybook Land will soon offer a new home to Winnie the Pooh and friends, located not far from the cozy cottage of the Seven Dwarfs.
“There’s something magical about taking something full scale and displaying it in miniature, it’s something Walt himself was obsessed with,” shares Keith Rector, Art Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris. “I grew up near Disneyland in California and Storybook Land has always been my favorite attraction. When I joined the team in Paris, we started a conversation about how we can bring new stories to Le Pays des Contes de Fées. I wanted to introduce new characters to this realm of storybook classics.”
These new additions, as well as a complete refurbishment of the attraction, will take place over the course of next year.

DreamWorks Animation Layoffs Hit 4% of its Workforce
DreamWorks Animation is implementing a 4% reduction in its workforce as a response to the recent downturn in the industry, increased production expenses, and ongoing labor strikes. A DWA spokesperson told Deadline, “DreamWorks Animation reduced its workforce by approximately 70 positions. Roles affected were across corporate functions, feature, television, and technology departments as part of an overall cost-reduction.”
There is optimism that the studio’s fortunes may improve with the upcoming launch of the third installment in the Trolls film series, titled “Trolls Band Together,” scheduled for release on November 17. Notably, *Nsync will reunite after 22 years to contribute a song to the film’s soundtrack.
The voice cast for this animated feature includes a star-studded lineup featuring Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Camila Cabello, Daveed Diggs, Amy Schumer, RuPaul, and many others.
