Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will feature Music from Grammy Award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard
Drawing inspiration from the captivating city of New Orleans, Disney’s Imagineering project team is tirelessly working on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an upcoming attraction.
During a recent visit to New Orleans, Disney Imagineers, John Dennis, Charita Carter, Ted Robledo, and Carmen Smith had the privilege of participating in ongoing recording sessions for the attraction’s music.
Disney is thrilled to announce their collaboration with acclaimed artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard, both proud natives of New Orleans. Together, they will help Disney create a musical masterpiece that serves as a heartfelt homage to the region that originally sparked the journey with Princess Tiana.
PJ Morton is writing, arranging, and producing the original song for the attraction. He is performing on and producing the sessions in New Orleans of all-new arrangements of the song, as well as songs from “The Princess and the Frog” within the attraction.
Terence Blanchard is helming music arrangements for the attraction’s queue. Terence is working with us to select songs from “The Princess and the Frog,” as well as iconic themes from New Orleans. Just like Tiana’s recipes, the music will combine a medley of instrumental ingredients to cook up something worth savoring.
The music will borrow from several musical styles that either originated or took up permanent residence in New Orleans. Some of our brand-new Audio-Animatronics figures will bring the invigorating sounds of New Orleans to life. Take this new rendering of Prince Naveen’s brother, Ralphie, for example. It’s a scene you commonly see in New Orleans: the joie de vivre influencing his every movement as he jams to the beat of his songful soul. Or this band of friendly critters playing joyful Zydeco-style music.
Stay tuned for more updates as Disney Imagineers progress in crafting a brand new original song composed by PJ Morton, along with fresh renditions of beloved melodies from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ enchanting film, “The Princess and the Frog.”
You can read all about both PJ and Terence’s impressive body of work and more details on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure here.

Halloween at the Disneyland Resort
Downtown Disney District will also feature fall décor, entertainment and special offerings from select locations.
As leaves begin to change color and the Halloween spirit creeps in, Disneyland Resort will revel in the arrival of fall with returning celebrations beginning Sept. 1, 2023 – featuring an assortment of fall fun and fare for family and friends.
Materializing Sept. 1-Oct. 31, 2023, Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort will feature dozens of new and returning seasonal treats across the resort and debut bewitching outfits for Mickey Mouse and his pals at Disneyland Park. Haunted Mansion Holiday will continue its annual tradition with another deliciously diabolical gingerbread house on display in the ballroom.
Spirited seasonal décor and characters dressed in Halloween looks will appear in both theme parks, presenting countless photo opportunities. The Main Street Pumpkin Festival brings a horde of hand-carved gourds to Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland Park, including the giant Mickey Mouse Pumpkin. At Disney California, Adventure Park, Halloween decorations and projections evoke an air of eeriness in Buena Vista Street. Plus, Cars Land becomes Radiator Screams, where the residents and establishments are decked out in their Haul-O-Ween best.
At Disneyland Park, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and some of their pals will cast a ghostly glow with new outfits made with luminescent fabrics and bat details. Jack Skellington and his friends from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” will wreck the halls of Haunted Mansion Holiday once again. The attraction’s ballroom will showcase the latest rendition of the annual bespoke gingerbread house.
Each night through Oct. 31, the supernatural “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular will summon projections, special effects and music on Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, Rivers of America and in front of “it’s a small world.” MagicBand+ adds another devious dimension to the show with ominous illuminations and shivering vibrations. On select nights, fireworks will conjure in the skies above. To make way for “Halloween Screams,” the nighttime spectacular “Wondrous Journeys” is scheduled to make its last performance of the year on Aug. 31.

New Pixar’s ‘Elemental’ Pre-Show Coming Soon to ‘World of Color – ONE’ at California Adventure
‘World of Color – ONE’ at Disney California Adventure will be getting a new Pixar’s ‘Elemental’ pre-show soon! The new animated film will be in theaters in just a few weeks and guests can celebrate early at Disney California Adventure.
It takes only a single ripple to make a huge impact. After all, a ripple can generate a wave—and a wave can power an ocean of change.
Many Disney and Pixar characters have dared to make waves and change their world for the better. In World of Color – ONE, their stories take center stage—unfolding amid a breathtaking blend of dancing water and incredible special effects.
World of Color – ONE celebrates the rich storytelling legacy begun by Walt Disney a century ago, bringing to spectacular life moments from favorite films including The Lion King, Moana, Ratatouille, Soul, Star Wars, The Avengers and more.
Beginning June 2, 2023, for a limited time, a new water short titled “Elemental Connection” highlighting the story and characters from Disney and Pixar’s latest film, “Elemental,” will be presented ahead of “World of Color — ONE” in Disney California Adventure park.
Brilliant projections dance across vast water screens in this two-minute pre-show, bringing the land, air, water and fire residents of Element City to life. In this heartfelt story, fire element Ember and water element Wade discover that though the world tells them they can’t coexist, they are more alike than they realize. As whimsical fountains and powerful music fill Paradise Bay, you’ll see that stepping out of your element may help you uncover who you really are, just like Ember and Wade.

Final Performance of ‘Wondrous Journeys’ Announced for 2023
Disneyland’s newest nighttime fireworks show now has an end date. The new ‘Wondrous Journeys’ first debuted as part of the Disney100 celebration and will have its final performance this fall.
“Gaze in wonder as Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, U.S.A. become a marvelous canvas for 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios storytelling. Thrill as talented artists transform empty pages brimming with possibility into beloved Disney characters and vivid animated worlds awash with magic.
All of this and more is brought to life by soaring music, stunning state-of-the-art projection technology—and on select nights, sensational pyrotechnics!”
This nighttime spectacular can be seen from multiple areas of the park; Main Street USA, it’s a small world, and Rivers of America. Each spot offers a different perspective and all the feels! If you want to see the two new characters flying above the park, make sure to sit near the castle. You’ll see the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio AND Baymax from Big Hero 6!
“For over 100 years, Walt Disney Animation Studios has unlocked a special kind of wonder in our lives. These films have inspired us to dream bigger, unleash our spirit of adventure, discover the power within—and realize that it’s kind of fun to do the impossible.
Wondrous Journeys is an enchanting celebration of the wishers, dreamers and artists at Walt Disney Animation Studios who have shared their imagination and talents with the world.”
If the fireworks aren’t able to go off due to weather, don’t skip this nighttime show! The projections and music are fantastic and so worth watching. We have LOVED this show and are sad to see it go. The final performance of the year will be on August 31. Beginning September 1, guests will get to enjoy Halloween Screams.
We are hoping to see Wondrous Journeys return next year!
