Across the Spider-Verse is the brand new animated superhero film that is a direct sequel to the critically acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. We welcome back the sarcastic and paternal Peter B. Parker and dive much deeper into the story of “Spider-Gwen.” The animation blends traditional hand-drawn and computer-generated techniques, creating a visually dynamic and vibrant world. It has the look and feel of a comic book come to life, and every frame of this film is gorgeous.
In this sequel, the supporting cast is equally diverse and memorable. Daniel Kaluuya adds a wonderfully jaded “Spider-Punk” to the film’s roster. Oscar Isaac is compelling as Miguel O’Hara, and Jason Schwartzman is perfect as “Spot.” What makes Across the Spiderverse so persuasive is this beautiful cast and the world-building that builds upon the first film’s success. Hailee Steinfeld returns as Spider Gwen, and Shameik Moore stars as Miles Morales.
The narrative of the film continues to build upon Miles’s grappling with the weight of his responsibilities. The film explores themes of self-discovery, identity, and the importance of embracing one’s unique qualities. This time, it’s all about Miles controlling his narrative and destiny and fighting the forces attempting to control his fate.
While patrolling the city one night, Miles encounters a familiar faceโGwen Stacy, also known as Spider-Woman or Spider-Gwen. Excited by the unexpected reunion, they catch up and share stories of their recent adventures. Gwen reveals that she has been traveling across the multiverse, visiting different dimensions and encountering various versions of Spider-Man.
Intrigued and fueled by a desire for more adventure, Miles becomes a stowaway on a journey with Gwen across the multiverse. They swing through dazzling and unique dimensions, encountering different versions of Spider-Man. Miles learns jarring facts behind his exclusion in the “Spider-Verse” at large and additional threats to his family and universe.
A powerful villain whose true intentions remain shrouded in mystery seeks to disrupt the balance of the multiverse and rewrite history. With the fate of countless dimensions hanging in the balance, Miles faces the dangers somewhat isolated and alone.
Throughout their journey, Miles continues grappling with his identity and what it means to be Spider-Man. He faces personal challenges and confronts his insecurities, ultimately growing as a hero. Meanwhile, the bond between Miles and Gwen is strained, yet their friendship evolves by the film’s conclusion. Be warned the film will end with a jarring cliffhanger, so you’ll need to wait till 2024 for a resolution.
Ultimately if you loved the first film, Across the Spider-Verse is an oversized dose of what made the first film so wonderful. The film takes itself seriously, sometimes to its detriment, but this animated film is doing something special. The film sets up an exciting conclusion and pushes the genre forward in a world where superhero films are becoming tired. While there’s nothing new to see with Across the Spider-Verse, it does offer more of what fans adored about the franchise.

Disney Pride Mural Debuts at Magic Kingdom. Happy Pride! Itโs June 1, and that means we are excited to celebrate Pride Month! That also means great photo walls have been added around the four Parks here at “The World”. We have already told you about the great new addition in Epcot, and yesterday we got to see the new and updated Wall at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
The new mural is a reverse of last year’s Pride Wall. Instead of the pride colors inside Mickey’s head, Mickey’s head is the purple wall and the colors are behind.
Don’t forget there are photopass shots now available all over the Magic Kingdom, along with various snacks and treats around the parks. including the Pride Colored Mickey Head cinnamon roll at Main Street Bakery.

Hamilton Director Hired to Direct Disney’s Live-Action Moana
Disney’s live-action Moana continues to take shape. Thomas Kail, the Tony Award-winning director of Broadwayโsย Hamilton, has been hired to directย Disneyโs live-action remakeย of the 2016 animated musicalย Moana. Disney announced the project earlier in the spring, along with the news that Duane Johnson will reprise his role as Maui.
Johnson will also serve as executive producer along with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. Jared Bush, who wrote the screenplay for the original musical, returns to the remake with Dana Ledoux Miller. Auli Cravallo recently shared via social media that she will not return to reprise her role as Moana, turning instead to a new star.
Thomas Kail put Broadway on notice when he directed Lin-Manuel Mirandaโsย In the Heightsย in 2008, earning a Tony for best direction of a musical. In 2015 Kail and Miranda hooked up again, this time forย Hamilton. Kail won the best direction prize, with the musical winning 11 awards out of the 16 for which it was nominated.
Most recently, Kail directed a revival of Sweeney Todd featuring Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford. Sweeney Todd is nominated for 8 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.

Trattoria al Forno and the Pizza Window at Disneyโs BoardWalk will be closed for refurbishment from June 11-17. No dinner offerings will be available. However, Trattoria al Forno will provide a limited breakfast menu during those dates, with Guests who book breakfast being directed to dine in theย Flying Fishย dining room.
The Boneyard at Disneyโs Animal Kingdom closed for refurbishment last month and is set to reopen mid-June.
Disneyโs Blizzard Beach Water Park closed in March for its annual refurbishment. Thereโs no scheduled reopening date but guests can enjoy Disneyโs Typhoon Lagoon Water Park instead.

This exclusive 24-day private jet vacation is specially designed for those who want to immerse themselves in the magic of Disney like never before. With an itinerary that covers all 12 Disney Parks, three Disney studios, and three iconic landmarks in India, Egypt, and France, this trip is a dream come true for any Disney enthusiast.
The trip will be divided into two departures, allowing guests to choose the dates that suit them best. The first trip will occur from Jun 16, 2024, through Jul 9, 2024, with the second occurring from Jul 28, 2024, through Aug 20, 2024.
