Christmas Decorations have Arrived at the Disneyland Resort
The holiday season at the Disneyland Resort begins soon and Christmas decorations are already beginning to arrive! Festive wreaths, garland, bows, and lights have turned the “Happiest Place on Earth” into the “Merriest Place on Earth”.
As the holiday season draws near, the enchantment of Disneyland takes on a whole new level of magic with the arrival of Christmas decorations. Each year, the park transforms into a winter wonderland, with an array of dazzling lights, festive garlands, and larger-than-life ornaments adorning Main Street, U.S.A.
The moment the first twinkling lights are strung, and the towering Christmas tree is carefully positioned in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, visitors are transported into a world of holiday joy and wonder. The sight of iconic Disney characters dressed in their holiday finest, and the sweet aroma of freshly baked gingerbread cookies wafting through the air, create an atmosphere that brings smiles to the faces of guests of all ages.
Every corner of Disneyland receives a touch of Christmas magic. Fantasyland is adorned with whimsical wreaths and decorations, and even the famous Haunted Mansion is transformed into the “Haunted Mansion Holiday,” featuring a unique blend of Halloween and Christmas decor. The holiday season at Disneyland is a time when dreams come true, and cherished memories are created. During the holiday season, the beloved Jungle Cruise experience is transformed into the Jingle Cruise—a festive-yet-familiar adventure from stem to stern!
Join the homesick Jungle Cruise skippers as they set out on a holly, jolly journey packed with silly shenanigans. “Wish” debuts in theaters on Nov 22, 2023 and stars Ariana DeBose as Asha, a sharp-witted idealist who makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star.
Asha from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Wish” is now greeting guests in EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and will soon make her way to Disneyland Park in California and Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. At Walt Disney World Resort, guests can dream big with Asha in a special location near the entrance to World Showcase.
Beginning November 22 at Disneyland Resort, Asha will appear outside The Royal Hall in Fantasyland, bringing with her a touch of the magical kingdom of Rosas as Star’s playful glow lights up the area. Asha will head to Disneyland Paris later in the month.

Alaska Airlines Debuts New Mickey’s Toontown themed Airplane
Alaska Airlines has debuted a new plane themed to Mickey’s Toontown! The airplane, featuring Mickey Mouse and his pals, took to the skies for the first time today.
After the big reveal of this specially designed plane with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse at a gate ceremony in Seattle, passengers boarded the inaugural flight to Orange County, Calif., to visit “The Happiest Place on Earth” at Disneyland Resort. Named “Mickey’s Toontown Express,” the celebrated plane is now flying on routes across Alaska Airlines’ network.
Adorned with playful images of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, along with their pals Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland park, the Boeing 737-800, tail number 565AS, is Alaska Airlines’ eighth livery in collaboration with Disneyland Resort.
For the unique design – which even includes Chip ‘n’ Dale on the boarding doors and winglets – it took artists more than 400 hours and 20 days to hand paint the brightly colored aircraft exterior from nose to tail.
The plane’s exterior artwork is inspired by Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland park, a whimsical and newly reimagined, animated land where families can explore, play, discover and unwind together while enjoying interactive experiences, familiar favorites and the new attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Passengers on “Mickey’s Toontown Express” may also enjoy activity books and snack packs onboard with designs that feature Mickey Mouse and his pals, while supplies last.
Guests will be able to fly Alaska’s “Mickey’s Toontown Express” for several years before it reaches the end of its normal rotation. Alaska Airlines’ other Disneyland Resort-themed planes include “Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort,” which portrays larger-than-life versions of Disney and Pixar “Toy Story” friends Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie at Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park, and the space-black “Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort” livery that celebrates Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park.

The Walt Disney Company made a significant announcement today regarding the acquisition of Comcast Corp.’s 33% stake in Hulu, LLC. This move follows Comcast’s exercise of its right under the put/call arrangement between the two companies on November 1. The acquisition of Comcast’s stake aligns with Disney’s strategic streaming objectives, solidifying its position in the rapidly evolving streaming landscape.
According to the terms of the put/call arrangement, Disney is expected to pay approximately $8.61 billion to NBC Universal (NBCU) by December 1. This amount represents NBCU’s percentage of the $27.5 billion guaranteed floor value for Hulu, as established in the agreement between the two companies back in 2019. The calculation factors in the anticipated outstanding capital call contributions payable by NBCU to Disney.
As part of the agreement, an appraisal process will determine Hulu’s equity fair value as of September 30, 2023. In the event that the value surpasses the guaranteed floor value, Disney will compensate NBCU with its percentage of the difference between the equity fair value and the guaranteed floor value.
While the exact timeline for the appraisal process remains uncertain, the expectation is that it should conclude during the 2024 calendar year. This strategic move by Disney underscores its commitment to expanding its influence in the streaming industry and staying at the forefront of the ever-changing media landscape.
Food & Drink Guide to Festival of Holidays 2023 at Disneyland
The Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays is returning from Nov. 10, 2023, through Jan. 7, 2024 at the Disneyland Resort. The festival will feature delicious dishes and sips inspired by various traditions and holidays, like Christmas, Navidad, Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day.
There are quite a few new eats and sips being delivered by the talented culinary teams this holiday season, like the Barbacoa Tamal de Res from Grandma’s Recipes and the Mad Santa Macaron Inspired by the Disney+ series “The Santa Clauses” from Favorite Things. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of returning favorites ready to gift you some flavors to unwrap, like the Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake at Making Spirits Bright and the Guava-Melon Lassi from A Twist on Tradition.
