Variety reported that “The Muppets Mayhem” has been discontinued after completing its first season on Disney+. The show, made its debut on Disney+ in May 2023, featuring a cast that included Lily Singh, Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry, and Anders Holm. Fans quickly praised Mayhem as being the closes thing to the original Muppets Show in years.
The Disney, “Mayhem” featured, โThe Electric Mayhem Band โ Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone and Lips on trumpet โ on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first-ever studio album. With the help of a driven young music executive, Nora (Singh), the old-school Muppet band comes face to face with the current day music scene as they try to finally record their first studio album.
In October 2021, Disney+ launched the Halloween special “Muppets Haunted Mansion,” and the short-form series “Muppets Now” premiered in July 2020. Initially, Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis, and Josh Gad were slated to develop a new Muppets series, picking up the story immediately following the events of the film “The Muppets Take Manhattan.” However, this project was abandoned before receiving a series order.
Kermit and Ms. Piggie featured prominently in a brand new stage show at the “Jollywood Nights” after-hours event at Hollywood Studio. In Theater of the Stars, Piggie and Kermit help MC “Disney Holidays in Hollywood” live on stage. Fan reaction to the addition of Muppets should clue in Disney about the mood of this fan base, who want more Muppet representation at parks and on television. So to those fans, news that Mayhem was not getting a renewal order for a second season was devastating.
While Disney never committed to a second season, many remained hopeful following the positive reaction to Mayhem from amongst the subscriber base. Did Disney short-change the Muppets? Share your thoughts here in a comment and check back for more Muppet-related news here at Chip and Company.

Prices for Express Pass at Universal Orlando Resort have jumped for the Thanksgiving holiday
As the Thanksgiving weekend approaches, visitors planning to indulge in the epic adventures of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure will note a significant surge in the prices of the Universal Express Passes. The spike in prices reflects the high demand for an expedited theme park experience during one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year.
For those eyeing the Universal Express Pass Unlimited at Universal Studios, be prepared to shell out $289.99 for Thanksgiving Day and the following day. As the weekend progresses, there’s a slight relief with the price dropping to $259.99 for Saturday, November 25. Express Pass Unlimited allows guests to skip the regular lines at the most popular rides and attractions as many times as they want.
The standard Universal Express Pass is somewhat more affordable, priced at $259.99 for Thanksgiving and the subsequent day, falling to $229.99 for Saturday. Express Pass allows guests to skip the regular lines at most popular rides and attractions once per ride.
Islands of Adventure, known for its thrilling rides, follows suit with a similar pricing model. The Express Pass Unlimited here is tagged at $299.99 for Thanksgiving and the day after, with a decrease to $269.99 on Saturday, November 25.
For those opting for the regular Express Pass, it’s priced at $269.99 for the initial two days of the holiday period, reducing to $239.99 for Saturday.
For guests looking for Express Passes for their Park-To-Park tickets, the 2 Park Express Pass Unlimited is available at $309.99 for Thanksgiving and the following day. The price sees a reduction to $279.99 on Saturday.
Alternatively, the regular 2 Park Express Pass is a bit lighter on the wallet, priced at $279.99 for the first two days, and then $249.99 for Saturday, November 25.

For many, this could be a worthwhile splurge to ensure a memorable and hassle-free holiday experience at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

Spider-Man 4 Will Reportedly Merge with Sonyโs Venom
The Spiderverse is poised to entangle the MCU with Sony’s Venom. According to a recent report by occasional insider DanielRPK, Spider-Man 4, though not officially scheduled in the MCU lineup, is poised to serve as the film that connects the Sony Spider-Man-less Spider-Man universe with the MCU.
While the specifics remain unclear, it’s likely that some form of multiverse manipulation will be involved. The groundwork for this crossover has already been laid, as evidenced by Tom Hardy’s Venom making a post-credits appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, seemingly transported into the MCU through the film’s events. However, with Venom 3 on the horizon, the timeline and connection details are still uncertain.
The crossovers continued in Sony’s Spiderverse when Morbius encountered Michael Keaton’s Vulture, the MCU antagonist from the initial Spider-Man movie. Yet, it remains unclear whether this interaction involves an alternate dimension iteration of the character or some other narrative twist.
The Spider-Man Villains poised to transition to the MCU include Venom, Carnage, Morbius, and the upcoming Kraven. Additionally, Madam Web, despite being labeled as a “standalone” film with uncertain implications, could potentially introduce her, along with two Spider-Women and Spider-Girl, into the merging narrative.
Is Disney inclined to incorporate a slew of mediocre Sony villains into their highly cherished Spider-Man MCU proper? This seems unlikely, especially considering Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is expected to play a significant role in the MCU’s future.
However, Spider-Man is rapidly cycling through mainstream villains; who haven’t already emerged from the “No Way Home” storyline or been featured by Sony. Could we see Spider-Man clashing with other MCU villains in various crossover films, adding an element of uncertainty to the situation? Only time will tell how this unfolds.
Who do you want to see Spider-Man face off against in an upcoming MCU film? Do you want Sony’s Spiderverse to merge with the MCU? Our Peter Tingle tells us this isn’t a good idea, but we could be wrong.
Orlando International Airport Expects to Host Over 2 Million Travelers this Thanksgiving
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is gearing up for a bustling travel period, with an expected influx of over two million passengers during a 12-day spanโan impressive 17% surge from the previous year.
To ensure a smooth travel experience, MCO recommends passengers check in at the airport ticket counter three hours before their flight, proceed to the checkpoint two hours prior, and be at the gate an hour before departure.
The apex of travel activity is anticipated on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, with an estimated 187,000 travelers navigating through the airport.
In preparation for the heightened demand, MCO has augmented its parking facilities, adding approximately 2,000 extra spaces compared to the previous year. Travelers can avail themselves of various parking options, including multiple garages and lots across Terminals A, B, C, Terminal Top, North Park Place, and South Park Place.
Additionally, supplementary lots like West Park Place and an Overflow lot will be activated during peak times, complete with enhancements such as temporary fencing and lighting. Travelers are encouraged to utilize the Orlando MCO App and website for real-time parking updates.
“The Aviation Authority and our airport partners are energized by the challenge of this yearโs expected Thanksgiving holiday passenger surge, which solidifies our status as the nation’s premier visitor destination,” says Kevin Thibault, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
“Orlando International is preparing for the increase and encourages passengers to follow the 3-2-1 timeline. Our security checkpoints will be fully staffed, additional parking has been added and seasoned professionals stand ready to provide assistance to enhance the customer experience.”

What makes this recipe so special this time of year is that Disney chefs use one just like this to make the pecan pies served at Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida on Thanksgiving Day as part of a tradition 25 years in the making.
The culinary team at Walt Disney World cooks up hundreds of traditional Thanksgiving meals each year that Disney VoluntEARS then serve to Coalition for the Homeless residents for an extra special dinner filled with Disney magic. The meal is filled with all the traditional dishes, which of course includes dessert.
โGiving is who we are as part of the Disney family. We believe that everything we do to make magic can also make a difference, which is what I see happening when we provide Thanksgiving meals to those in need in our Central Florida community,โ said Walt Disney World Culinary Director Gregg Hannon. โWe all might have a different interpretation of Thanksgiving, but gratitude is something that we all have in common. As a culinarian working at Disney for 26 years, I am extremely proud to work for a company and be part of a team that gives back in such an important way.โ

Dave Filoni Named Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer
Dave Filoni, a seasoned figure in the Star Wars universe, is expanding his influence as the newly appointed Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm.
Reflecting on his previous involvement in projects, Filoni expressed, โIn the past, in a lot of projects, I would be brought into it, I would see it after it had already developed a good way,โ in an interview with Vanity Fair, which first reported the news.
In his enhanced role, Filoni will be actively engaged in the early development stages of Star Wars projects, collaborating closely with Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and Head of Development Carrie Beck.
This strategic move comes at a pivotal moment for Star Wars. Despite its success on the small screen, driving subscriptions on Disney+, the franchise has faced challenges in bringing new films to theaters.
Since the divisive “Rise of Skywalker” in 2019, there have been no theatrical releases. In line with this, Filoni, as revealed in April during Star Wars Celebration, is working on directing a live-action feature. This project is expected to weave together the narrative between 1983โs “Return of the Jedi” and 2015โs “The Force Awakens,” potentially featuring characters from his Disney+ show.
