Explore mixology basics, hone the perfect recipe for your favorite classics, or discover crucial tools and techniques for the home bartender. They sky is the limit: Our mixologist will create a class tailored to your group’s interests and skills for a truly personal experience.
Mixology requires both attention and artistry; as such, classes are best enjoyed in small groups. Lessons include a light lunch and 2-3 cocktails.
Group size is limited to 6-10 guests.

Cinderella Castle Moat is Being Refilled in the Magic Kingdom After Refurbishment. Seeing a bunch of heavy machinery surrounding Cinderella Castle is never ideal, unfortunately once in a while, it is needed. When Disney must do work or renovations, or in this case remove the 50th-anniversary overlay, the castle moat must be drained to bring in cranes.
Disney has finished all the work surrounding Cinderella Castle. With the turrets being repainted and touched up, and some of the rock work in the moat being fixed. Now, we can see all the equipment has been removed, and the water is starting to flow back into the moat.
Give it a few days to be filled back up, and now you and the family can enjoy the Castle in all its glory.

Happily Ever After and dessert lovers rejoice! “Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise” at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is making a comeback after its temporary closure for refurbishment. Unfortunately, the return of the cruise brings about a bit of a change—a higher price tag.
Ferrytale Fireworks invites guests to step aboard one of Disney’s iconic ferryboats for a magical evening on the Seven Seas Lagoon. The adventure begins at the Transportation and Ticket Center, where attendees are welcomed with a refreshing beverage before setting sail. The ferryboat’s crew takes center stage, regaling guests with an entertaining backstory of the vessel’s magic, setting the tone for the enchantment to come.
Once the ferryboat sets sail, the celebration continues with a delectable assortment of international cheeses and delightful desserts handcrafted by Disney’s talented pastry team. The culinary offerings are accompanied by a selection of specialty drinks, including alcoholic options for guests aged 21 and older, themed to the sparkling shooting stars of the fireworks. A new group of entertainment professionals in the categories of Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Radio, Recording, and Sports Entertainment have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by the Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
These honorees were chosen from among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held on June 16, 2023, and ratified by the Hollywood Chamber’s Board of Directors on June 21, 2023. Steve Nissen, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and Ellen K, Chair of the Walk of Fame Selection Panel and Radio personality, announced the new honorees on www.walkoffame.com

Disney Imagineers worked with music legends PJ Morton & Terence Blanchard (both natives of New Orleans) on the new music & theme song for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take guests on an adventure through the bayou as Tiana prepares to host a special celebration during the Mardi Gras season.
“It wouldn’t be a proper Disney celebration without magic and a little music,” says Charita Carter, Executive Creative Producer of Walt Disney Imagineering.
In honor of Black Music Appreciation Month, join Carter in New Orleans and learn more about how this new attraction draws on the musical heritage of New Orleans to bring Tiana’s story to life.
PJ Morton is writing, arranging, and producing an original song just for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and most of the music will be recorded in New Orleans. “The challenge was to try to fit in with what already existed but also bring something fresh and move the story along,” Morton said of writing the new original song.
Morton also shared how happy he was that Disney was sharing the story and music of Tiana and New Orleans in an authentic way.
Terence Blanchard is spearheading the music for the attraction queue. The music for the ride will incorporate various music styles and instrumentations that originated from New Orleans.
We can’t wait for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to open at both parks so we can experience the new ride along with the new music!

Disney Seeks Patent for Enhanced Visibility in Character Costumes
Disney theme parks are well-known for their characters! Now, the company has filed a patent for enhanced visibility in the character costumes. Performers in full character costumes have limited visibility so this patent will be very helpful!
Orlando Inno shared a look at this new patent. It is called “Optical Viewfinder for Costume Heads” and uses a lens-based system. There would be system of lenses within the head of a “fur character” suit that would reflect the eye line of a character head down to the eye line of the performer. Performers typically look out of the character head’s mouth and not it’s eyes because of how big the head is.
Another idea would be to incorporate a video camera system into the character costumes but that would be more expensive and less reliable.
“The camera often will need repair including battery replacement,” the patent states, “and the camera model often will be depreciated with replacement models becoming less capable and more expensive in some applications. Even with two displays the viewed images are monoscopic, and, while walking or during head movements, camera latency causes conflicts between the viewed scene and the proprioception/vestibular systems, which often leads to dizziness of the performer and reduced agility.”
“With regard to achieving an enlarged [field of view],” the patent explains, “the optical viewfinder of the costume head can include a special eyepiece. For example, a fisheye lens may be used to deliver the image to the performer’s eye, and, in some cases, a second fisheye lens may be provided as the incoming or near-aperture lens to enhance [field of view]. The fisheye lens or lenses may be 1-to-1 lenses or configured to provide magnification to enlarge the image provided to the person wearing the costume head.”
The lens system could improve the visibility of the character performers which could translate into better and safer meet & greets for guests!

Last week we got to witness the Character-Palooza at EPCOT and interacted with Big Al, Wendell, Meeko, Penguin, and Stitch, among others. The other day, we finally got to see the character Palooza in Hollywood Studios.
The characters, including Thumper, Princess Tiana, and Pocahontas, were all meeting in the courtyard at Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. We found them right outside the exit, and close to the Joffrey’s Coffee kiosk.
As we exited the thrilling ride, we were met by Cast Members in blueberry-colored shirts. They would ask guests if they wanted to meet one of the characters and show guests around the corner. With no real line to speak of, the meet and greets were extra special with how much time the characters would spend with each guest. This all happened later than normal as we got to see these characters from 5:30 PM until at least 6:20 PM.

Disney Parks Live Entertainment is seeking marching Trumpet and Percussion players for the traditional Toy Soldier for Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade, performed at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

Student Musicians: 5’8” – 6’, proficient in the Trumpet or Percussion with previous marching experience and the ability to sight read.

In an interview with The Points Guy, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, expressed optimism about the future of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, despite its permanent closure later this year.
D’Amaro emphasized the importance of pushing boundaries and delivering experiences beyond guests’ expectations. He acknowledged that not every endeavor is successful but highlighted the groundbreaking creativity and storytelling that was achieved with Galactic Starcruiser.
The Points Guy asked what would happen to the shuttered hotel. “No hints yet,” D’Amaro said with a smile, “but something will happen.”
Recently Disney CEO Bob Iger rejected ideas to retheme or add different options to the Galactic Starcruiser experience, opting to shutter it instead. So it will be interesting to see what happens to the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser after it closes this September.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closing in September
Disney’s immersive Star Wars experience, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is permanently closing this September. Disney released a statement regarding the closure:
“The final voyage for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will take place Sept. 28-30, 2023.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our Guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment. This premium experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our Guests and fans.
We are so proud of all of the Cast Members and Imagineers who brought Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to life and look forward to delivering an excellent experience for Guests during the remaining voyages over the coming months.”
