Kids of all ages have enjoyed the Mickey Mouse shorts in Disney+, with the series providing short (~ 4 minutes in length) episodes placing Mickey and friends in contemporary situations. While the shorts stopped production in 2018 (with a reboot under a new name in 2020), Disney has finally released the full musical track from the animated series 5 year run.

According to Disney+, the series of cartoon shorts presents Mickey “in a broad range of humorous situations that showcase his pluck and rascality, along with his charm and good-heartedness.” The series places Mickey and the rest of the Fab 5 in situations all around the world, such as trying to get a supply of croissants for Minnie’s cafe in Paris and Mickey chasing a hot dog through the streets of New York City.

Flavors of Florida with Chef Art Smith in Disney Springs Including Recipe. This summer, join us at Waterview Park for a new culinary series! Learn from the experts at popular Disney Springs dining locations—and taste their fresh, Florida fare.

We had the pleasure of seeing Chef Art Smith, along with Executive Chef James Guinan, and cookbook writer-media specialist Heather McPherson talk all about the wonderful agriculture of Florida and how they try to use locally sourced ingredients in their dishes at Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming located in Disney Springs.

On the menu this Friday morning was a simple shrimp and grits demonstration, that turned out to be the best shrimp and grits we have ever had, you can find the whole recipe for this dish below.

Chef Art Smith was his normal cheerful self, full of wit and humor, while also bringing us along on a journey of finding the best flavors from his home state of Florida. This is one of the best demonstrations on the Waterside stage here in Springs.

You too can enjoy the last two demonstrations that happen on Friday mornings at 10:30 Am, by checking the culinary series on the Disney Springs website and learning how to get a limited free ticket for the upcoming events. Next Friday you can hear from Steve from Gideon’s, followed by the culinary team of Disney chefs the last Friday.

Disney Surveys Guests on Possible Return of Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Voyage of the Little Mermaid, a stage show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, has been closed since Covid-19. While it has yet to return, Disney is still surveying guests about the attraction.

Disney World Extends Theme Park Hours in August

Disney World theme park hours have been extended in August! Guests visiting three of the four theme parks will have extra time to experience all the parks have to offer.

Park hours have been extended for Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

On August 6 through 12 the park will open at 8:00 a.m. now instead of 9:00 a.m., so early entry will begin at 7:30 a.m. On Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12, the park will close at 8:00 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom will have extended hours on July 26. The park will now close at 11:00 p.m., instead of closing at 10:00 p.m. Extended evening hours on that day have been shifted to run from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The park will still open at 9:00 a.m.

On August 11, Magic Kingdom will open at 8:00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. Early entry will therefore begin at 7:30 a.m. The park closes to regular guests that day at 6:00 p.m. for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests can enjoy some extra time in the park in the mornings from August 6 through 12. The park will now open at 8:30 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. each day, shifting early entry for hotel guests to 8:00 a.m. The park will still close at 9:00 p.m. each night.

The new World of Frozen land at Hong Kong Disneyland is almost complete! This will be the first Frozen-themed land at a Disney theme park when it opens later this year.

Halloween time is coming up quickly and that means Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is returning to Magic Kingdom! The party is a fun after hours event that features shows, rare characters, and other spooktacular experiences.

Disney has released showtimes for some of the entertainment offerings at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. First up is Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade. The parade will be offered twice each night of the party. First at 9:15 pm and then at 11:15 pm.

Catch a glimpse of dastardly villains, ghastly ghouls and other iconic Characters as they float by during this spellbinding parade.

Twice nightly, this beloved cavalcade brings forth an assortment of fiendishly fun floats, as each land of the Magic Kingdom park comes together to celebrate during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—offered on select nights from August 11 through November 1, 2023.

Highlights include:

A flurry of favorite Disney friends, including Mickey Mouse, don Halloween costumes as they prepare to go trick-or-treat down Main Street, U.S.A.

We ran into MORE Rare Disney Characters in EPCOT. The Character-Palooza doesn’t stop at Epcot recently. We have had the pleasure of being in the right place at the right time, a few times in the past few months, to witness rare character sightings.

This past week we got to see Gideon and Pinnochio from Disney’s Pinnochio movie, Wendell and Big Al from The Country Bears, Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, and Miko from Disney’s Pocahontas. These character sightings really have no schedule and place, but we have been lucky to see them at the America pavilion alleyway next to the Joffrey’s stand.

Q: Where can I find Disney Characters?

A: One of the best ways to see Disney Characters is to make reservations at a restaurant with Character Dining. Character Dining meals are very popular, so book your reservations early!

Theme parks are also home to attractions and entertainment that feature Disney Characters.

Plus, you never know who you might find when you visit the parks—check the printed Guidemap for additional Character Greeting locations.

Unbuilt Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Construction Project Blueprints Revealed

The construction project blueprints and other documents for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge were recently revealed when they were auctioned off by Van Eaton Galleries.

The documents went for about $6,000. Van Eaton Galleries shared images of some of the documents which showed unbuilt projects including a table-service restaurant and shops.

Van Eaton described the lot as:

“(Disneyland, 2018) An (83) page contract document release prepared for Bid & Construction of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The collection of documents contains numerous images of props designed for the Droid Foundry, Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, Souk Marketplace, and the Cantina, and were prepared by Walt Disney Imagineering. Measuring 11″x17″, the documents are in good condition, with wear to edges and corners throughout from handling and age.”

The preview images show everything that wasn’t built in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The rest of the documents were in regards to signage.

There would’ve been a table-service restaurant next to Oga’s Cantina. It would have been called the “Kalikori Club” and would have been operating out of a converted two-level bathhouse.

In the blueprints you can see shops labeled “Explorer” and “Tailor” near Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, Savi’s Workshop, and Droid Depot (labeled “Antiquarian,” “Saber,” and “Droid Foundry” respectively).

Other documents in the lot gave a look at concepts for various Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge signs and details. There are also concept images for droid arms connecting to ports.

Bacon Brothers Pull Out of the EPCOT Food & Wine Eat to the Beat Concert Series

The musical duo, the Bacon Brothers, are no longer part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series lineup for the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. The duo is made up of Kevin Bacon and Michael Bacon.

The Bacon Brothers were originally scheduled to perform at the festival on August 13 and 14. The date now has no act listed, it just says “To be announced.” This would’ve been the first time the Bacon Brothers had performed at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

There has been no specific reason shared for why they are no longer performing.
