If you’re a fan of foot-tapping jazz music and the magic of Disney, then the upcoming performances by Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band will surely be music to your ears. Prepare to be transported to the lively streets of New Orleans as they perform their musical tribute to the city, taking you on a rhythmic journey down the Rivers of America aboard a specially themed raft.

New Orleans comes alive as the Jambalaya Jazz Band takes their show to the riverside! With the return of the beloved Queenie to the band, get ready to experience the enchanting melodies of New Orleans-inspired jazz as it fills the evening air along the Rivers of America.

Universal Orlando Resort’s Rock the Universe returns January 26 – 27, 2024 for an unforgettable weekend of faith, fun, and fellowship. During Florida’s biggest Christian music festival, fans and youth groups come together to enjoy moving performances by some of Christian music’s top artists, powerful worship experiences, and thrilling theme park attractions at Universal Studios Florida.

The rocking weekend kicks off Friday night across Universal’s two stages, the Music Plaza Stage and the Hollywood Stage, with six feature performances and continues Saturday night with an additional six performances. The 2024 Rock the Universe lineup will be announced at a later date.

New Disney100 Train Popcorn Bucket Pulling into Select Locations in Disneyland. Leave it to the Disney Eats Instagram account to drop amazing information on a Sunday at 6:00 PM when we are all winding down for the evening. Don’t get us wrong, we aren’t complaining, we are very excited about this announcement. Minus the fact it is for Disneyland and not Disney World.

Coming this Wednesday, July 26th, The Disney100 Train Bucket will be available. From the video released, we can see the bucket will also feature a small train whistle, which is a removable smoke stack. This is a limited-time release, so make sure you get over to the Park as soon as you can, as supplies are limited.

If you are reading, and happen to be grabbing a new Train Popcorn Bucket, I know a writer who collects Popcorn Buckets but happens to live on the World side of the country!

Disney Gossip: Disney Treasure to Feature Haunted Mansion Bar

It is rumored that the all-new Disney Treasure Cruise Ship will feature a first-of-its-kind Haunted Mansion Bar!

Scheduled for a mysterious launch sometime in (likely late) 2024, the Disney Treasure from Disney Cruise Line is already generating whispers of its distinctive features that will set it apart from its Triton Class predecessor, The Disney Wish. Unlike The Wish, which boasted the Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge to mixed reviews, the Disney Treasure will not sail with the galaxy-inspired bar. Instead, the latest gossip says the eerie decks of the Disney Treasure are anticipated to unveil the world’s first bar and lounge themed around the iconic “Haunted Mansion.”

Ever since The Haunted Mansion made its spine-tingling debut at Disneyland Park in 1969, it has garnered immense adoration from Disney enthusiasts. Yet, the allure of its ghostly inhabitants has remained confined mostly to the ride and a few adjacent shops at various Disney Parks. In stark contrast, Pirates of the Caribbean has triumphed in inspiring themed restaurants, hotel rooms, and a full-fledged evening of entertainment aboard Disney Cruise Line. The proposed Haunted Mansion bar aboard the Disney Treasure aims to fill this void, summoning the 999 Happy Haunts into a culinary and cocktail haven they’ve long deserved.

While still a rumor until officially confirmed by Disney Cruise Line, the haunting teaser video released at D23 Expo 2022 featuring the Hitchhiking Ghosts has ignited excitement among Disney fans. If realized, this ethereal bar on the Disney Treasure promises a spellbinding experience, immersing guests in a realm of supernatural delights through intricate props, special effects, and Disney magic.

The prospect of embarking on a journey alongside these beloved spectral friends will undoubtedly lure in countless Disney Addicts. Although all venues aboard the Disney Treasure remain unconfirmed at this time, this thrilling possibility adds an air of mystique and allure to the forthcoming cruise, making it a voyage to remember for all daring souls who dare to embark upon it.

Barbie Movie Smashes Records, Surpasses $150 Million Opening Weekend Box Office

The newest Barbie movie has Warner Brothers living in the dream house after the film posted the biggest box office opening of 2023. Right now the film is on track for a 155 million dollar weekend, but some estimates have the film as high as 160 million. The Greta Gerwing film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.

Oppenheimer is also exploding at the box-office with a cool 80.5 million dollar take, making this one of the biggest weekends of the year. Both films are surely benefitting from what social media has dubbed “Barbenheimer.” Droves of devotees have turned both films into a major social event, creating a buzz that is marketing departments dream come true.

Oppenheimer and Barbie are putting up Marvel/Star Wars level numbers, but these are clearly not super-hero films. Outside of Spiderman: No Way Home, this is the highest foot traffic for a theater film since breaking from the pandemic. In fact, only Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are ahead of the now 12.8 million admissions to Barbie.

Barbie cost a net of $128M while Oppenheimer cost around $100M. Both of those budgets are before advertising and promotions. The only question mark surrounding both of these films is will “Barbenheimer” fever carry into the following weekend when Haunted Mansion arrives in theaters?

Beyond the theme parks, the Orlando area offers a wealth of recreational activities for retirees. Enjoy a round of golf at one of the many world-class golf courses, go fishing in the nearby lakes for example Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, Lake Apopka, Lake Minneola, or The Butler Chain of Lakes in Windermere, or take leisurely strolls through beautiful conservation area of Celebration, Bok Tower and Winter Garden (just to name a few). Oakland, Winter Garden, and Apopka are all home to the West Orange Trail which stretches through these communities and offers patches for running and cycling.
