First Look at LEGO Disney Princess: The Castle Quest Coming to Disney+ on August 18th
Disney+ is adding some extra pixie dust for this year’s world princess week. Every year Disney Parks rolls out the red carpet for princess week and this year they’re extending the celebration to their online streaming service.
An exciting new adventure begins today with the release of the official trailer and key art for “LEGO® Disney Princess: The Castle Quest.” The all-new animated special from Disney Princess and the LEGO Group will premiere August 18 on Disney+, leading into the World Princess Week celebration.
In “LEGO Disney Princess: The Castle Quest,” Tiana, Moana, Snow White, Rapunzel, and Ariel are off on an adventure as they are each unexpectedly transported to a mysterious castle. Shortly after arriving, they soon discover that Gaston has hatched an evil plan to take over all their kingdoms! The Princess characters must work together to solve challenges hidden deep within the castle walls and try to save their kingdoms from Gaston. Will bravery, quick-thinking, and teamwork prevail?
“LEGO Disney Princess: The Castle Quest” features the voices of Jodi Benson as Ariel, Auli’i Cravalho as Moana, Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Anika Noni Rose as Tiana, and Katie Von Till as Snow White. Additional cast includes Richard White as Gaston, Joanne Worley as Wardrobe, Corey Burton as Magic Mirror, and Jim Cummings as King Triton.

If you’re in for a sweeter start, try the French Toast Strata, a popular breakfast offering now updated with a delicious crème anglaise. It’s also served with fresh berries and your choice of bacon or sausage.
On the move for an exciting adventure at the resort or parks? The grab-and-go marketsection is filled with offerings sure to please your palette, including the new Charcuterie with Chef’s selection of cheeses, cured meats, and traditional accompaniments. Another addition will be the Turkey BLT served with chef’s house-made pimento cheese.
Any sandwich lovers out there? How about ones from Western New York? If so, the Beef on Weck is inspired by the classic mainstay of the region. It’s made up of sliced brisket and horseradish cream on a caraway brioche bun served with au jus and Saratoga chips. Another handheld option is the tasty Tuna Salad Sandwich on toasted sunflower bread.
For pizza lovers, The Artist’s Palette is home to a wonderful pizza hearth, with dough prepared in-house. The Margherita Pizza remains but has been updated from its previous iteration, now with mozzarella, fresh pizza sauce, and basil pistou on house-made pizza dough.
As dinnertime rolls around after 4:00 p.m., this spot will feature three create-your-own entrées – the Homestyle Meatloaf, Sautéed Garlic Shrimp, and Herb-roasted Chicken. All three of these dishes are served with your choice of two sides – Yukon gold mashed potatoes, garlic green beans, roasted rainbow carrots, steamed white rice, or edamame succotash. What a meal!
If you’re a fan of the longtime favorite, the Saratoga Salad, don’t worry. This staple is here to stay! It combines mixed field greens, feta, dried cranberries, apples, spiced walnuts, crispy ciabatta croutons, and lemon-poppy seed vinaigrette. Now that’s my kind of salad. Another signature offering that you can’t miss is the Ham & Cheese Panini. This bite features sliced ham, smoked gouda, dijon mustard, and quattro formaggi spread pressed to perfection.
For a sweet finish, the bakery team has put together two new treats you’re going to love. First up is the Derby Day Pie. This delight is inspired by traditional sweets from a day at the racetrack and features a pie shell with chocolate-nut filling topped with buttercream and horseshoe décor. Also new, the signature Artist’s Palette Cookie is a mouthwatering sugar cookie with icing ‘paint’ and strawberry biscuit stick ‘paintbrush.’ It’s adorable and delicious.

The complete list of character meet and greet locations for the 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is now available
Guests attending this years Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party now have one more planning tool at their disposal: the list of character meet and greet locations has been released.
On Main street USA, Jack and Sally will again greet guests in the Town Square Theater. At the Halloween Party, Jack and Sally meet guests in their traditional outfits from the movie, while Santa Jack typically appears at the Christmas party,
In Tomorrowland, guests will be able to meet everyone’s favorite alien Stitch at the former Stitch’s Great Escape.
In the Storybook Circus section of Fantasyland, guests can meet the Seven Dwarfs inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow, Goofy at the Barnstormer, and Minnie, Donald, and Daisy at Dumbo the Flying Elephant.
In Fantasyland, Alice, the Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, and the Queen of Hearts will greet guests at the Mad Tea Party, your favorite friends from the Hundred Acre Woods will greet guests at The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Ariel and Eric will greet guests at Ariel’s Grotto, Belle and Gaston will greet guests at Bonjour! Village Gifts, and your favorite Disney princesses will greet guests at Princess Fairytale Hall.

Pixar’s ‘Elemental’ Burning Up the Box Office Crossing $400 Million
When Pixar’s “Elemental” first graced the screen in June, it may have seemed more like a flicker than a roaring flame. The animated masterpiece, set in a captivating world of elements, follows the endearing love story of Ember, the fiery spirit, and Wade, the wishy-washy character. Despite its captivating narrative, the film opened to a modest $30 million at the domestic box office during its debut weekend, falling short of the typical fervor that accompanies a Pixar release—known for its trail of blockbuster triumphs.
However, unlike a mere fleeting spark, “Elemental” refused to dissipate into obscurity. Audiences continued to stream into theaters, captivated by the film’s enchanting tale.
Under the skilled direction of Peter Sohn, “Elemental” achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing the $400 million mark at the global box office just last week. Of this impressive sum, a substantial $148 million was earned domestically. This feat is a testament to the movie’s resilience and captivating storytelling, especially considering the highly competitive theatrical landscape where a majority of moviegoers tend to flock to theaters during the opening weekend.
The success of “Elemental” extends beyond its initial modest beginnings, shining as an extraordinary achievement in the world of cinema. Its ability to gather momentum over time, drawing in an increasing number of viewers, showcases the enduring appeal and magic that Pixar consistently brings to the silver screen. As Ember and Wade’s story continues to warm the hearts of audiences worldwide, “Elemental” stands tall as a true testament to the power of storytelling and its ability to ignite a slow burn of cinematic success that blazes brightly against all odds.
In fact, it’s so rare that no Pixar movie has had a multiple that high since the one that started it all: 1995’s Toy Story.
A myriad of forces gave a boost to the long-term success of Elemental.
It’s been a hit with moviegoers with a 93% audience score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes and it carries an “A” CinemaScore, which undoubtedly led to strong word of mouth. It’s also been a solid choice for moviegoers of all ages during a summer in which family films have been hard to find.
“After a disappointing opening weekend, we’re really pleased that audiences have discovered what a great movie it is,” said Tony Chambers, Disney’s EVP of Theatrical Distribution.
The box office run for Elemental is also notable since it’s an original story. Many of the highest-grossing animated films in recent years have been sequels or based on established franchises. Elemental is the first original animated film from any studio to reach the $400 million mark since 2017.
International audiences have especially embraced the film.
“We knew we had a clear run throughout the domestic summer play period,” Chambers said. “And its global gross to date has been propelled by top performing international markets including South Korea, Mexico, France, and the UK.”
The film has made $276 million internationally. That includes a whopping $48 million in South Korea. The film is the most-viewed foreign film in Korea this year and the most-viewed Pixar film ever released there. It has reached 6 million admissions, meaning that one out of every eight people in Korea have seen it.
The film opened in Japan, its final international market, over the weekend and brought in $2.4 million, setting it up nicely for a run through the upcoming Obon holidays (Aug 11 to Aug 20).
While big opening weekends may get the headlines, Elemental shows that a true box office success story is about how a film finishes rather than where it begins.
“Recently it’s been more challenging for original animated and live-action IP to break through,” Chambers noted. “But you can’t create a franchise without taking a swing, and no other studio has taken more swings than Disney.”
