Disney Junior to Revive Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, New Ariel Series, Holiday Episodes, and More

Disney Junior, home to some of the most beloved franchises for preschoolers — including the year’s #1 most-watched series for preschoolers and kids, “Bluey”* — made several key programming announcements today, including a new iteration of its flagship series, “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” set to debut in 2025, and the stop-motion Halloween special “Mickey and Friends Trick or Treats,” premiering Oct. 1, 2023. The announcements were made by Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, during the “Disney Junior & Friends Playdate” event at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California.

Other announcements included additional holiday-themed episodes of Disney Junior favorites, including “SuperKitties,” “Pupstruction,” “Mickey Mouse Funhouse” and “Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends,” and casting for the new 2024 series “Disney Junior’s Ariel” and “RoboGobo.” In shorts news, the Sept. 6 premiere date of “Doc McStuffins: The Doc & Bella Are In!” — the first new fully original “Doc McStuffins” content to premiere since 2020 — was announced, along with new “Playdate with Winnie the Pooh” and “Me & Winnie the Pooh” shorts, which debuted today on Disney Junior YouTube and Disney Junior.

“Disney Junior captures the hearts and imaginations of preschoolers and their families everywhere with stories and characters filled with magic, wonder, adventure and heart,” said Davis. “From providing early entry points into classic Disney franchises to introducing brand-new IP that becomes the latest kid obsessions, Disney Junior is always there with infinite opportunities to engage and play.”

The three-day “Disney Junior & Friends Playdate” event, which celebrates the magical, entertaining and music-filled stories of Disney Junior’s hit series, will move to the Downtown Disney District on Saturday, Aug. 19, and Sunday, Aug. 20, giving even more young fans a chance to experience the beloved characters and storytelling of Disney Junior.

NEW PROJECTS

“MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE 2.0” — working title — (New episodes coming 2025 on Disney Junior and Disney+)

In the next iteration of Disney Junior’s Emmy^® Award-winning global hit series “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 2.0” (working title), Mickey and pals welcome everyone back to the clubhouse for all-new adventures filled with songs, laughs, handy helping, and fun new surprises. The new series will see the clubhouse expanding with a brand-new area just for Minnie and the addition of Duffy the Disney Bear, Mickey’s trusted teddy bear, who will make surprise appearances in multiple episodes. Beloved by preschool fans and their families around the world, the series combines the rich heritage of Disney’s beloved classic characters with state-of-the-art CG animation and introduces a whole new generation of preschoolers to Mickey and his pals. The series originally premiered in 2006 and became a pop culture phenomenon that is still breaking records today with over 4 billion views on Disney Junior’s YouTube Channel, including for the iconic “Hot Dog Dance” video.

“MICKEY AND FRIENDS TRICK OR TREATS” — (Premieres Sunday, Oct. 1, on Disney Junior, Disney Channel and Disney XD at 7:00 p.m. EDT/PDT; streaming Monday, Oct. 2, on Disney+)

In this new Halloween stop-motion special, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy are trick-or-treating when Donald spies the spookiest mansion he’s ever seen and assumes it has the best treats. After he convinces his friends to risk a visit, the owner, Witch Hazel, casts a spell that turns them into their costumes. The special features new original music from Emmy Award-nominated songwriter Beau Black (“The Lion Guard”).

In the Halloween episode titled “Howloween Cat,” the pets’ Howloween treats go missing all over Kittydale, so the SuperKitties must track down the thief.

PUPSTRUCTION – “The House Of Howls” (Disney) ROXY, TANK, PHINNY, LUNA

“PUPSTRUCTION” — (A spooky Halloween episode premieres Wednesday, Sept. 27, on Disney Junior at 7:00 p.m. EDT/PDT; streaming same day on Disney+)

“Pupstruction” premiered in June 2023 and follows the adventures of the Pupstruction team — a doggone hard-working construction crew ranging from some of the brawniest breeds to irresistibly cute and playful puppies. It centers on Phinny, an innovative young corgi who might be the smallest pup on the crew but proves that you don’t need big paws to have big dreams or big ideas. In the Halloween episode titled “Happy Howl-o-ween/The House of Howls,” Bobby Boots (voiced by Bobby Moynihan) thinks he wasn’t invited to Pupstruction’s Howl-O-Ween party, and Tank doesn’t think he’s brave enough to help build a haunted house.

In a new “Web-Spinners” storyline introduced into the series this summer, Spidey, with the help of Iron Man (voiced by John Stamos), creates new hi-tech suits and gear that lets the Spidey Team stop baddies and help people —not just in their friendly neighborhood, but now all over the world. The storyline will continue into season three, debuting next year, and brings into the fold new characters joining the ranks of other well-known Marvel Super Heroes and villains who have appeared in the series, including The Thing (voiced by Andy Milder), Ms. Marvel’s teleporting dog, Lockjaw (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker), and the power-hungry robot supervillain Zola (voiced by Trevor Devall). In the episode titled “An UnBEElievable Rosh Hashanah,” Gobby steals all of the bees, so Team Spidey and The Thing must get them back and save Rosh Hashanah.

The whimsical animated series “Mickey Mouse Funhouse” introduces preschoolers’ first pal, Mickey Mouse, and his friends — Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto — to Funny, an enchanted talking playhouse, who takes the Sensational Six on adventures of all types to unique worlds that inspire the imagination. In the Halloween-themed episode titled “The Curious Case of the Kooky Scientist,” premiering Sept. 26, Mickey and the gang are off to Halloweenville to see kooky scientist Von Drake’s newest invention. “DISNEY JUNIOR’S ARIEL” — (Premieres 2024 on Disney Junior and Disney+)

Mykal-Michelle Harris (“Raven’s Home”) has been cast in the lead role of Ariel in “Disney Junior’s Ariel,” an animated musical series for preschoolers inspired by the beloved story of “The Little Mermaid.” Broadway, film and television stars Taye Diggs (“Rent”) and Amber Riley (“Glee”) will voice King Triton and Ursula in the series, which follows 8-year-old mermaid princess Ariel as she and her friends embark on fun-filled, action-packed underwater adventures throughout their Caribbean-inspired fairytale kingdom of Atlantica and beyond. In addition to Harris, Diggs and Riley, the series stars Elizabeth Phoenix Caro (“The Christmas Chronicles”) and Cruz Flateau (“SuperKitties”) as Ariel’s friends Lucia and Fernie, respectively, and Gracen Newton (“Puppy Dog Pals”) as Flounder.

Set 200 years before “The Phantom Menace,” during the High Republic era, “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” follows Jedi younglings as they study the ways of the Force, explore the galaxy, help citizens and creatures in need, and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi along the way. A new batch of episodes, including a Life Day holiday episode, will debut on Disney Junior and Disney+ on Wednesday, Nov. 8. The Life Day episode will follow Master Yoda, Master Zia and Jedi younglings Kai, Lys and Nubs as they take a trip to Kashyyyk to celebrate Life Day and learn more about the Wookiee’s holiday traditions.

Warrior Games Returns to Disney World in 2024

The Department of Defense Warrior Games are returning to Walt Disney World next year! The games are hosted by U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command and will take place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in June 2024.

“Adaptive sports play such a powerful role in the mental and physical recovery of wounded, ill and injured military members, and we are excited to once again be back at ESPN Wide World of Sports,” said Gen. Gary Brito, commanding general of TRADOC. “These men and women deserve our support as they overcome these obstacles, and it’s an honor to host the Warrior Games on behalf of the U.S. Army and DoD, and to provide another way for these athletes to leverage the power of adaptive sports.”

First held in 2010, this annual event will feature hundreds of elite-athletes, including those from international allied nations, who will compete in adaptive sporting events such as wheelchair basketball, cycling, indoor rowing and sitting volleyball, among others.

The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, which will serve as the Warrior Games venue for the second time, is a 220-acre facility that features multiple indoor and outdoor competition sites. This award-winning complex, which combines the spirit of sports with Disney magic, previously hosted the 2016 Invictus Games and the 2022 DoD Warrior Games.

“We are humbled to again welcome these heroic service members and veterans, their families and supporters to ESPN Wide World of Sports next summer,” said Jeff Vahle, president of Walt Disney World Resort. “Their sacrifice has allowed us the freedoms we enjoy daily, and we are honored to be able to witness their spirit of determination, boldness and loyalty come alive during the games!”

The Warrior Games serve to enhance the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded warriors by providing them exposure to adaptive sports. Military paralympic adaptive sports programs help wounded service members and veterans build strength and endurance and draw inspiration from their teammates. Participation in the Warrior Games represents the culmination of a service member’s involvement in an adaptive sports program and demonstrates the incredible potential of wounded warriors through competitive sports.

The 2024 Warrior Games, which are open to the public, will welcome the community and the world to be part of the excitement by supporting these heroes. Details about the sports schedule, viewing opportunities, corporate sponsorships and more will be available closer to the event.

Tiana’s Palace Restaurant will Open in Disneyland on Sept. 7th

Fantastic news! We have an opening date for Tiana’s Palace Restaurant in Disneyland. The new restaurant will open on September 7th.

This reimagined quick-service style restaurant is inspired by the one Princess Tiana created in the beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “The Princess and the Frog.”

The Tiana’s Palace restaurant opening will mark the next step in bringing more of Princess Tiana’s stories to life in New Orleans Square, which began with Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets last year and will continue with the opening of the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction in 2024. Disney is so thrilled to expand upon Princess Tiana’s story, pay homage to the cuisine of the Crescent City, and welcome guests into Tiana’s Palace in just a few short weeks!

There will be so many elegant yet subtle details throughout the restaurant that offer fun hints at Tiana’s rich past in New Orleans. Below the lit marquee that reads “Tiana’s Palace” hanging above a metallic gold balcony, is an emerald green wrought iron railing and awnings dyed in yellow and green, reminiscent of Tiana’s beautiful formal ball gown. You will be surrounded by the colors of Mardi Gras as you sit at yellow tabletops, on warm vanilla-colored chairs with green seats, in the shade of yellow and green umbrellas.

Disney Imagineers also took inspiration from the film for the interior of the restaurant, which includes a large mural of the bayou. You will also see other references to Tiana’s story – lilies represented on numerous signs, plaques and light fixtures, frog porcelains, cookbooks Tiana has collected on little shelves, and her father’s favorite gumbo spoon proudly on display. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for the letters from her father and neighbors on display, alongside a childhood photo of Tiana.

Did you know? The design of Tiana’s Palace from the Disney Animation film “The Princess and the Frog” was actually inspired by the French Market Restaurant – the former restaurant in this space – in New Orleans Square at Disneyland park. In the film, Disney Animation artists added a wheelhouse and two smokestacks to give Tiana’s restaurant an iconic silhouette, so when the time came to bring Tiana’s Palace to life at Disneyland, Disney Imagineers made those same additions to create the real Tiana’s Palace, making this a full circle moment!

Disney is so excited to welcome you soon to see this exciting transformation, as well as mark the return of the Mint Julep Bar! At Tiana’s Palace, you can enjoy new menu items that represent Tiana’s story and honor the flavors and flair of New Orleans, with an effort to source some ingredients directly from the state of Louisiana when possible. Adorable It’s A Small World Hippo Figurine Spotted At Disney Springs!

We found this adorable It’s A Small World Hippo Figurine by Ron & John Daniels made of salvaged ancient redwood for $1800 at The Art of Disney in Disney Springs, very expensive for sure but hey if you can afford it and love Disney, it is a great rare piece to own.

The hippo is an iconic part of the classic “It’s a Small World” ride, this one doesn’t have the whimsical colors of the one at the attraction but the wooden design with flowers definitely makes it a very subtle piece of Disney magic to add to your home.

Disney is once again giving back to the community via a $125,000 donation to Florida Schools

Walt Disney World Resort has reaffirmed its dedication to education in Florida by announcing a substantial contribution of $125,000 to support school districts across Osceola, Lake, Polk, and Seminole counties. This investment will play a pivotal role in expanding workforce development and early learning student initiatives within these districts.

Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of External Affairs at Walt Disney World Resort, emphasized the significance of nurturing future storytellers in the community, stating, “Our company’s essence lies in storytelling, making it imperative for us to support aspiring storytellers within our community.
