Disney Stock Closes Yesterday at Lowest Price in Nearly a Decade
As the final bell rang on Wall Street this Thursday, The Walt Disney Company (DIS) experienced a decline of 3.91% for the day, culminating at $82.47 per shareโa figure not seen since 2014. To be exact, on October 16, 2014, Disney shares concluded the trading session at $81.74 per share.
In the course of the company’s recent earnings call, held earlier this month, CEO Bob Iger acknowledged the prevailing “challenging environment” that they currently confront. Since that announcement, Disney’s shares have observed a 5% decrease.
Sources indicate that investors are bracing for a potential further descent in the upcoming months, based on a report published by Reuters.
Disney shareholders are closely examining the company’s strategy for revival, prompted by CEO Bob Iger’s recent commitment to implementing a combination of price increases across its streaming platforms, enhanced advertising presence, and cost reduction measures, all aimed at revitalizing the business.
Disneyland Resort Changing Early Entry Policy for Hotel Guests Starting in 2024
Disneyland Resort’s Early Entry policy will be changing in 2024. The policy applies to all guests staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel during their vacation.
Starting January 20, 2024, the early entry benefit will be updated, and Guests with valid park admission and reservations who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels may take advantage of this 30-minute early entry into a designated theme park for every day of their hotel stay. Each day, either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park will be open early.
Currently, guests staying at the three Disneyland Resort hotels can enter either of the parks 30 minutes early each day of their visit. Starting January 20, that will change and only one park will be available for early entry each day. That was how the early entry policy worked pre-covid, however guests were allowed in one hour before the park officially opened.
Guests will need to check the Disneyland Resort calendar to see which park will be open for early entry each day of their visit.
Yesterday, 2024 Disneyland vacation packages opened up for booking. If you’d like to plan your next Disneyland vacation, contact me for a free vacation quote! I am a travel agent with Destinations to Travel and my services are complimentary.
Behind-the-Scenes Look at Disneyโs Once Upon A Wish Party
Today a very special wish-granting event is taking place at Walt Disney World in honor of World Princess Week – Once Upon A Wish Party! Hundreds of Cast Members participated in making this a special event for wish kids and their families.
This is one of Disney’s largest wish-granting events ever and will be filled with all the adventures you may expect of Disney royalty โ and then some. More than 50 children with critical illnesses and their families from across the country will experience the best day ever. There will be royal encounters with Disney characters near and far, tea and treats for everyone, and wish kids will even be proclaimed royalty for the evening at a royal ball!
Disney Cast Members
Cast members are an integral part in making these Disney wishes come true. And you can imagine a wish event of this size takes quite the team, but just how many cast members does it take to bring something this grand to life?
More than 500 cast members from across the company worked together on this first-of-its-kind wish event. 500 cast members dedicated to every detail โ from building stages and immersive sets, to cooking up delicious dishes, assembling royal packages with special surprises, and more. All while keeping safety and accessibility top of mind so each wish kid and their families have a marvelous time.
โOnly at Disney can you make an impact like this,โ said Stefanie Steele, Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at Walt Disney World. โOur cast members take great pride in Disney being the number one wish in the world, and it has been so inspiring to see the passion everyone is bringing to make sure dreams come true for these familiesโฆ.in a distinctly Disney way, of course.โ
A Disney Princess Party Like No Other
Disney also enlisted the help of Disney royalty as they prepared. Fairy Godmother sent out the official invitations and some very talented mice are putting the finishing touches on dรฉcor all around Disneyโs Contemporary Resort. Queens Elsa and Anna loaned their 8,000 salad plates (give or take a few) and Ariel is pitching in enough thingamabobs for nearly 300 royal guests.
โWeโve been planning this event for more than a year and have worked together to make sure every detail is practically perfect,โ said Angeline Aguayo, Disney Parks Events Manager. โThe care of our wish families remained at the heart of this event and our cast have risen to the occasion to create the most magical celebration for these families so they can make new happy memories together.โ
Itโs an extra special event for one cast member, Abron Kelly, who is helping to capture the memories as a Disney PhotoPass photographer and was once a wish kid themselves.
โDisney is the perfect place for wish families to get to be in the moment and not think about illness for a little while,โ Abron said. โGrowing up in similar circumstances โโฏillness, hospital beds, etc. โ Disney was the place I could go and feel like a regular kid. I knew someday I wanted to create that magic for other kids. Thatโs why I became a cast member.โ
