The Price Is Right host Bob Barker Passes Away at 99

Bob Barker, the revered icon of TV game shows renowned for hosting “The Price Is Right” for over three decades and later emerging as a prominent animal-rights advocate, has passed away at the age of 99.

Barker passed away peacefully at his residence due to natural causes, as confirmed by Roger Neal, his publicist. Neal conveyed this news on behalf of Nancy Burnet, Barker’s steadfast friend and caregiver.

In a distinguished television journey spanning over fifty years, Barker’s congenial demeanor endeared him to countless households. His rise to national prominence commenced in 1956, when he took the reins of NBC’s daytime program “Truth or Consequences,” a role he held for an impressive 18 years.

Notably, in 1972, Barker took on the hosting duties of “The New Price Is Right” on CBS, a revival of the original version that aired from 1956 to 1965, helmed by Bill Cullen.

Under Barker’s stewardship, “The Price Is Right” transformed into a beloved institution, where studio audience participants were joyously beckoned to “come on down!” and engage in guessing the retail prices of diverse prizes through captivating games. This iteration of the show stands as the longest-running game show in the annals of American television.

Barker’s contributions were further recognized through a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award for Daytime Television in 1999 and his induction into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame in 2004. His legacy is immortalized at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, where the studio producing “The Price Is Right” bears his name since 1998.

Having retired from his hosting role in 2007, Barker’s tenure yielded a remarkable 14 Daytime Emmy Awards.

Barker’s charisma even transcended to the silver screen, notably in the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy “Happy Gilmore.” In a memorable cameo as himself, Barker engaged in a brawl with Sandler’s golfing character during a pro-am golf tournament, emerging as the victor. Their cinematic tussle earned them the MTV Movie Award for Best Fight.

Barker, a man of enduring integrity, did not have children and chose not to remarry, leaving behind a legacy that encompasses both entertainment and advocacy.

Updated Disney World Dining Reservation System Launches in My Disney Experience App

The updated Walt Disney World dining Reservation System that we announced earlier this month is now rolling out on the My Disney Experience app.

Both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort have implemented updates to enhance the process of booking dining reservations through their websites and apps. Recently, this update has been rolled out in the My Disney Experience app for Walt Disney World, ushering in a new and improved user experience.

To explore the new functionality, users can access dining availability by selecting the “+” icon located in the bottom menu. From there, they can indicate their party size, accommodating up to 20 individuals, as well as the desired date and time. The time preference options encompass “All Day,” “Morning before 12 p.m.,” “Afternoon from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.,” and “Evening after 4 p.m.”

The updated system allows guests to peruse all the available reservation slots for their chosen dining venue and timeframe. This stands as a notable enhancement compared to the previous iteration, which only displayed a limited number of reservation options. Additionally, certain restaurants offer a “show more” feature, granting users access to additional time slots beyond those initially presented. Notably, each reservation slot is accompanied by its corresponding meal period—be it breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner—ensuring guests are informed about the menu offerings available during their chosen time.

In another exciting development, it has been announced that the Disney Dining Plan will be reintroduced at Walt Disney World, starting from vacations scheduled for January 2024 onwards. This anticipated return promises to enhance the culinary experiences for visitors to the resort.

Disneyland Teases 2 New Villains Coming to Oogie Boogie Bash

Disneyland shared a reel on Instagram teasing 2 new villains coming to Oogie Boogie Bash this year! These villains will be joining the immersive treat trails during the party.

The video on Instagram announced that “New Villains Have Joined The Party” and showed some clues to who the new villains will be.

We first see a barrel of bubbly green “A-1 Solvents” with purple shoelaces hanging over the edge. It is a nod to the greenish, ghastly chemical known as “Dip” in ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’. In the film, the villain Judge Doom uses “Dip” to execute toons.

The other part of the video takes us over to the new San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure. Since the area will be opening August 31, it’s safe to assume the villain from ‘Big Hero 6’, Yokai, will be appearing at Oogie Boogie Bash.

Disney Princesses Surprise Make a Wish Kids for ‘Once Upon a Wish Party’

Disney’s ‘Once Upon a Wish Party’ for Make a Wish kids took place at Disney World yesterday, August 25. Disney princesses surprised the kids as part of the special event.

The party took place at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. More than 50 children with critical illnesses and their families were treated to fully immersive day of magical moments. There were royal encounters with Disney characters near and far, tea and treats for everyone, and wish kids were proclaimed royalty for the evening at a royal ball!

Some of the royal encounters included Merida from ‘Brave’, Moana from ‘Moana’, Elena from ‘Elena of Avalor’, and Pocahontas from ‘Pocahontas’. The kids had some magical interactions with the princesses and got some amazing photos.

Anna, Elsa, and Olaf were also at the event and appeared to play games and tell stories with the children.

The Make a Wish kids had a wonderful time at the ‘Once Upon a Wish Party’!

Guests who find their visit to SeaWorld Orlando or Busch Gardens Tampa impacted by weather will now get a do-over included in their ticket prices. Weather-or-Not Assurance provides the opportunity to visit the park again if their visit is impacted by weather.

The details of the Weather-or-Not Assurance are as follows:

“You never know when thunder and lightning, hail, or even a hurricane might unexpectedly land and ruin your good time. But don’t worry. That’s when our Weather-or-Not Assurance steps in to provide you with a return visit on us!”

Your visit is covered through our Weather-or-Not Assurance program. This program guarantees the value of your park experience and applies year-round, covering weather events such as rain, lightning, extreme heat, wind, snow, hail and more.

For example, If during your park visit:

Inclement weather causes early closure or negatively impacts the park’s operating hours.
Rides are closed for over 60 minutes due to lightning, strong winds, heat, rain or snow.
If park temperatures reach a heat index of 110 degrees or above.”

Florida Fresh Floral Taking Over Disney’s Floral & Gift Services at Walt Disney World Starting August 27th

Guests will still be able to order in-room gifts via Florida Fresh Floral

Recently, Disney announced they will be sun setting the ability for in-room gifts to be purchased via Disney Floral. While we initially thought this meant in-room gifts would no longer be available, we now know a new company will be taking over the service-Florida Fresh Floral.

The Florida Fresh Floral website for Walt Disney World orders, Magical Floral and Gifts, is still under construction at the time of this writing. Walt Disney World Guests will eventually be able to order floral arrangements, gift baskets, and balloons via this website. Orders can also be placed by calling 1-888-814-8714.

Guests will need to place their orders no later than 12:00 noon on the day they wish the order to be delivered. Delivery will be handled via resort delivery between 9am and 9pm each day.

Closer Look inside Tiana’s Palace Opening Soon in Disneyland

The new Tiana’s Palace restaurant will be opening soon in Disneyland! The restaurant will allow guests to experience the vibrance and celebratory spirit of New Orleans Square. Each delectable dish is served the way good food should be––with love!

Tiana’s Palace celebrates everything we loved from the film: family, jazz, and good food! Inside the restaurant you’ll see lilies incorporated into the décor, family photos on the walls, cook books, pots and pans, and more! There’s even a space featuring instruments for the “Firefly Five plus Lou”.

The restaurant will be a quick service spot and even offers Mobile Order on the Disneyland app. Guests will be able to experience the new restaurant starting September 7.

New Coco Collection Spotted At Disney World!

We recently found some pieces from the Coco Collection at Epcot! From apparel to home decor, these pieces are perfect to celebrate Dia de los Muertos or just to add a folklorian touch to your style and home.

Let’s start with this ear headband featuring “papel picado” ears with sugar skull and heart cutouts plus a cempasuchil flowers instead of a bow. Very cute!

Then we found a variety of mugs, travel mugs and glasses featuring Miguel, a sugar skull, Ernesto de la Cruz and other Dia de los Muertos icons.

Other kitchenware items include a white jar with an all over pattern of Coco icons, a set of colorful coasters and plates to bring a bright touch to the table and a kitchen set that includes an oven mitt and kitchen towel.

For home decor, we found a fun decorative pillow featuring a cempasuchil flower on one side and an all over pattern of icons and characters from the movie! Another fun piece we found is a Coco serving tray, it has a rustic look that will look beautiful in your home.

The collection also feature apparel, these two pieces are for girls and are so cute!

Finally, other items include a Bruno shirt for your fuzzy friend and a Coco hand fan for those hot summer days.

New Mickey And Minnie Italy Pavilion Collection At Epcot!

We found this beautiful Mickey And Minnie Italy Pavilion Collection at the Italy pavilion during our visit to Epcot! We love to check out the pavilion exclusive merchandise, is so unique, fun and makes a great souvenir from your Disney vacation. Take a look at the pieces we found:

How adorable is this Mickey and Minnie ornament? It’s giving Lizzie McGuire vibes for sure! It features Mickey and Minnie riding an orange moped having a great time around Italy, very cute.

We also found kitchenware pieces like a mug featuring artwork of different Italian dishes, Mickey in Venice and other landmarks from this beautiful country. Other items include a wooden spoon, cutting board and coasters that will make a great addition to your kitchen!
