Vivoli il Gelato is the perfect spot to grab a tasty treat at Disney Springs. Featuring gelato, sorbetto, gelato-based sundaes, shakes, floats, and baked goods, there is something for everyone!

Tropical Storm Idalia Forecast to Turn into a Hurricane Later Today

Tropical Storm Idalia is anticipated to elevate to hurricane status as it approaches western Cuba later today. This progression is accompanied by heightened concern for life-threatening storm surges and the potential for hazardous winds in parts of Florida. The storm’s current coordinates are approximately latitude 20.6 North and longitude 85.2 West, with a northward movement at a speed of 8 mph (13 km/h). This northward trajectory is forecasted to persist until tonight, followed by a swifter north-northeast motion on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

The predicted track of Idalia places its center near or over western Cuba during the upcoming night, subsequently transitioning across the extreme southeastern Gulf of Mexico by early Tuesday. By Wednesday, it is projected to reach the Gulf coast of Florida. It’s important to note that this progression carries the potential for significant impacts.

Currently, the storm sustains maximum winds of about 65 mph (100 km/h), along with higher gusts. Based on current predictions, Idalia is set to achieve hurricane status later today. Moreover, it is expected to further intensify, potentially becoming a dangerous major hurricane over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico by the early hours of Wednesday.

For those in proximity to Disney World and its surroundings, it’s advisable to stay informed about the evolving situation. While the exact impact on this specific area is subject to change, regions such as the west coast of Florida, the Florida Panhandle, southeastern Georgia, and the eastern Carolinas are likely to experience rainfall ranging from 4 to 8 inches from Tuesday through Thursday. In certain localized areas, rainfall totals could reach up to 12 inches, especially closer to the point of landfall in northern Florida. These conditions could lead to localized flooding and other weather-related challenges.

First Night of Jollywood Nights Now Officially Sold Out

The first night of Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is officially sold out! Jollywood Nights is the new holiday after hours party coming to Walt Disney World this year.

Disney Jollywood Nights is a separately tickets event taking place on select nights between November 11 and December 20, 2023. The November 11th date is now completely sold out.

“It’s a holiday vibe like you’ve never felt before. Sights of sparkling décor, sounds of modern beats over classic holiday songs, tastes of craft cocktails and decadent dishes. It’s nostalgic and it’s glitz and glam galore. Get ready to dress in your holiday glam best or festive flair, dance the night away to merry mashups, indulge in divine treats and bubbling spirits, and snap selfies with iconic characters during this new festive event.”

The party will take place from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am and the following entertainment will be offered:

Disney World Celebrates World African Painted Dog Day

This past weekend Disney World celebrated World African Painted Dog Day! Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Facebook page shared some interesting facts about African Painted Dogs.

Have you ever wondered how African painted dogs communicate with each other? It depends on how far away the pack is from each other!

Painted dogs use high-pitched yips and squeals that can only be heard from a short distance away. If the pack needs to communicate over a longer range, they use “hoo” calls!

The pack at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is made up of six boisterous brothers—each with a personality of their own. From alpha male Oswald keeping everyone in line to little brother Bruce, poking his nose in everyone else’s business, the pack stays very busy!

Disney+ Original Series ‘Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.’ Canceled After Only Two Seasons

It appears that ‘Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.’ has joined the Mighty Ducks and Big Shot on the cutting room floor over at Disney+. Deadline confirmed that there will be no third season for this Disney+ original show. The show aired its final ten episodes only a few months ago, and many hoped that its absence from the list of cut shows meant that it had survived to see a third season, but alas news came down that this show too would not be returning for another season.

“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” is a coming-of-age medical drama series that follows the life and journey of a brilliant teenage prodigy named Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha. Set in modern-day Hawaii, the show centers around Doogie, a 16-year-old high school graduate who is not only dealing with the typical challenges of adolescence but is also a medical prodigy working as a doctor in a busy hospital.

Despite her age, Doogie is a highly skilled and talented medical practitioner, thanks to her exceptional intellect and the guidance of her mother, Dr. Clara Hannon, who is also a seasoned doctor. The revitalized show starred Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha, Kathleen Rose Perkins as Dr. Clara Hannon (Doogie’s mother) and Jason Scott Lee as Benny Kamealoha (Doogie’s father.)

Adam Sandler Pays Tribute to the Late Bob Barker

Yesterday brought the somber news of the passing of the illustrious host of “The Price is Right,” Bob Barker, who left us at the age of 99. This poignant announcement was made through a statement from his publicist (as reported by Today), confirming that the cherished game show icon breathed his last on a Saturday morning at his Los Angeles residence. The void left by Barker’s departure is immense, as he was truly the World’s Greatest MC, as aptly described by his publicist Roger Neal.

Tributes honoring Barker’s legacy have begun to pour in, with one particularly heartfelt homage coming from none other than Adam Sandler. The two had collaborated in the film “Happy Gilmore,” where Barker played a role alongside Sandler’s titular character during a celebrity golf tournament. Their on-screen camaraderie led to a memorable fistfight, etching one of the film’s most iconic scenes.

Sandler took to Twitter to share his sentiments, encapsulating Barker’s essence with words of admiration and fondness.

Governor Ron DeSantis Issues State of Emergency Ahead of Tropical Depression

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a State of Emergency for 33 counties in preparation for Tropical Depression 10. The storm is expected to become a tropical storm in the coming days.

“I signed an Executive Order issuing a state of emergency out of an abundance of caution to ensure that the Florida Division of Emergency Management can begin staging resources and Floridians have plenty of time to prepare their families for a storm next week,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “I encourage Floridians to have a plan in place and ensure that their hurricane supply kit is stocked.”

The storm is expected to make landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast sometime early to mid next week. There is potential for heavy rainfall, strong winds, and isolated tornadic activity.

Princess Tiana & Disneyland Cast Members Make Dream Come True for Make a Wish Kid

Dreams do come true at Disney! Princess Tiana and Disneyland Cast Members proved as much recently for a Make a Wish kid.

13-year-old Jordin is a steamboat enthusiast and as part of his Make a Wish visit to Disneyland, he was able to pilot the Mark Twain Riverboat on the Rivers of America!

Princess Tiana, Disney Ambassadors, and New Orleans Square cast members all came together to make magic for Jordin during his first visit to the Disneyland Resort. I think the smile on his face says it all!

Disney has worked with Make a Wish to created magical memories for wish kids since 1980. Over 150,000 kids have had their Disney wish granted.

Stroller Parking Sign Installed for Moana’s Journey of Water in EPCOT

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana should be opening soon! A stroller parking sign has recently been installed outside of the attraction’s construction walls.

A small blue sign with the words “Stroller Parking” has been placed in a planter outside of the construction walls. The area is directly across from Coral Reef Restaurant and the entrance to The Seas with Nemo & Friends.

There is another planter in an open section where guests can leave their strollers.

The other walls nearby are black with blue and green lines as well as characters from ‘Moana’.

SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa to cease taking cash payments

Guests planning a trip to SeaWorld Orlando will want to bring a payment method other than cash. Starting on August 30th, SeaWorld parks are going cashless.

The cashless system will be in place at SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove. Mobile payment and card payments will be the only payment methods accepted at all park locations including restaurants, retail stores, games, ticket windows, and ticket toll booths.

Busch Gardens and Adventure Island are also both going cashless. The parks all share the same parent company, generally resulting in similar policies between all locations.

The Price Is Right host Bob Barker Passes Away at 99

Bob Barker, the revered icon of TV game shows renowned for hosting “The Price Is Right” for over three decades and later emerging as a prominent animal-rights advocate, has passed away at the age of 99.

Barker passed away peacefully at his residence due to natural causes, as confirmed by Roger Neal, his publicist. Neal conveyed this news on behalf of Nancy Burnet, Barker’s steadfast friend and caregiver.

In a distinguished television journey spanning over fifty years, Barker’s congenial demeanor endeared him to countless households. His rise to national prominence commenced in 1956, when he took the reins of NBC’s daytime program “Truth or Consequences,” a role he held for an impressive 18 years.

Notably, in 1972, Barker took on the hosting duties of “The New Price Is Right” on CBS, a revival of the original version that aired from 1956 to 1965, helmed by Bill Cullen.

Under Barker’s stewardship, “The Price Is Right” transformed into a beloved institution, where studio audience participants were joyously beckoned to “come on down!” and engage in guessing the retail prices of diverse prizes through captivating games. This iteration of the show stands as the longest-running game show in the annals of American television.

Barker’s contributions were further recognized through a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award for Daytime Television in 1999 and his induction into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame in 2004. His legacy is immortalized at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, where the studio producing “The Price Is Right” bears his name since 1998.

Having retired from his hosting role in 2007, Barker’s tenure yielded a remarkable 14 Daytime Emmy Awards.

Barker’s charisma even transcended to the silver screen, notably in the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy “Happy Gilmore.” In a memorable cameo as himself, Barker engaged in a brawl with Sandler’s golfing character during a pro-am golf tournament, emerging as the victor. Their cinematic tussle earned them the MTV Movie Award for Best Fight.

Barker, a man of enduring integrity, did not have children and chose not to remarry, leaving behind a legacy that encompasses both entertainment and advocacy.
