The Caramel Flight from Karamell-Kuche is well worth stopping for

If you have not yet had the opportunity to experience Karamell-Kuche in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion, you are missing out. The smell you are greeted by as soon as you walk in is AMAZING, and the snacks are some of the best on property. During a recent visit, we stumbled across a Boozy Caramel Flight that left us drooling for more!

The caramel flight provides 4 different pieces served on a small gold tray:

Espresso Martini
Bahama Mama
Lemon Drop
Strawberry

Each piece was delicious, but the Espresso Martini was my hands-down favorite.

Karamell-Kuche often rotates in other flavors, so you may end up with a different flight every time you stop in!

Karamell-Kuche, located in the Germany pavilion at EPCOT, specializes in caramel treats. You can watch treats being made via the open kitchen, and a variety of packaged snacks (including Werthers Originals) is also available.

New Plant-Based Dishes Coming to Disneyland this Fall

If you love plant-based dishes, you are going to want to head to the Disneyland Resort this fall! Whether you follow a plant-based diet full time or are just looking for a mouthwatering delight on your next trip, here are five plant-based items coming to Disneyland this fall.

Soy Chorizo Country Breakfast Burrito

Kick-start your day the right way – with the tasty Soy Chorizo Country Breakfast Burrito. Starting Sept. 1, Galactic Grill at Disneyland park will be serving up this plant-based bite featuring soy chorizo, spiced potatoes, grilled peppers, onions, egg, cheddar, pico de gallo, and chipotle sauce perfectly combined in a spinach flour tortilla. Yes, please!

Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles

Also, in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park, Alien Pizza Planet has its own dish you’ll be clawing for starting Sept. 1. The Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles brings together noodles with stir-fried vegetables, tosses them with a can’t-miss sesame-ginger sauce, and finishes it off with some cilantro & scallions.

Curry Royale: Queen of Hearts Delight

You’re in for a royal surprise once you taste the Curry Royale: Queen of Hearts Delight starting Sept. 1. If you have reserved a spot at Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace in Disneyland park during the Halloween season, this plant-based item is fit for royalty. It serves up spiced fried cauliflower, basmati and green pea rice, spinach with chickpeas and Romanesco served with curry sauce.

Sopes de Chorizo con Papas

As you venture over to Disney California Adventure park, stop by the Hollywood Lounge on Aug. 29 where they’ve got the Sopes de Chorizo con Papas. This star-studded bite features refried beans, lettuce and pico de gallo with nopales, cilantro crema, and pickled red onion. You’re going to want to keep coming back for this one all fall long!

Plant-based Chorizo Quesadilla

Get in the spirit with the Plaza de la Familia festivities over at Paradise Garden Grill beginning Sept. 1. Here you’ll find the delicious Plant-based Chorizo Quesadilla. If you love yourself a quesadilla, you’re going to be mesmerized by the flavor with this one. It brings together poblano, onions and mozzarella, topped with cilantro crema, and served with salsa roja and escabeche. Now that’s a quesadilla.

Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion & Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Disneyland Resort has unveiled plans for an upcoming transformation of the dignified Haunted Mansion grounds set to take place next year. Enriching the narrative and mystique of the Haunted Mansion experience, an extended outdoor waiting area will showcase gardens that draw inspiration from the personas of Master Gracey, Madame Leota, and the one-eyed cat.

Moreover, an all-new retail establishment themed around Madame Leota will manifest itself in close proximity to the exit of the attraction. This carriage house of the mansion, belonging to Leota, will be a standalone shop that we are just “dying” to tell you more about in the future.

The plaza adjacent to Tiana’s Palace also will be enhanced with an elegant, park-like setting, where guests can relax and enjoy live entertainment under the shade of new and historic trees.

Each of the gardens will feature unique elements ranging from a water fountain and gazebo to themed statuary and landscaping. In fact, guests will be able to see a new greenhouse where the groundskeepers for the Haunted Mansion grow their plants. The pet cemetery and horse-drawn funeral hearse will continue to reside on the attraction’s grounds.

Construction on these additions will begin in January 2024. During this time, Disneyland Resort will take the opportunity to help improve the accessibility of these areas, which includes a new elevator exit from the Haunted Mansion for guests with disabilities.

Disney World Shares Hurricane Idalia Update, Offering 50% Off Hotel Stays for Evacuees and First Responders

Walt Disney World Resort is currently operating under normal conditions. Disney is closely monitoring the path of the projected weather as they continue to prioritize the safety of their Guests and Cast Members.

At this time, change and cancellation fees imposed by Disney will be waived for check-in dates of Aug. 28, 2023, through Sept. 4, 2023. Guests currently staying at our Disney Resort hotels whose travel plans have been impacted by the storm may receive a discounted rate to extend their stay through the evening of August 31, if needed, by visiting the front desk.

Florida residents evacuating from the storm and first responders assisting in storm-related recovery efforts may also receive 50% off Disney Resort hotel stays on the evenings of Aug. 29-31, 2023. For evacuees, please call 407-W-DISNEY for details. For first responders, please call 407-828-3200 (Option 3). This applies to new bookings only and is based on availability.

Walt Disney World is prepared to once again serve as a staging area for storm-related recovery efforts for the state of Florida.

Disney to offer Extended Evening Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Deluxe resort guests traveling to Walt Disney World during the holiday season will get a few extra hours of park time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The park currently closes between 7 and 8 p.m. with no extra evening hours offered. Prior to the COVID-related park closures the park periodically had evening hours via either extended hours for resort guests or a specially-ticketed after-hours event. It appears Disney is now gearing up to bring back evening hours at Animal Kingdom by offering Extended Evening Hours for the very first time.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is an amazing park to be in at night. We experienced an after-hours Safari a few years ago, and the animals were very active and the roar of the lions was incredibly impressive. The Tree of Life is beautifully lit up in the evening, and Pandora just comes alive after dark.

The closure of the park around 7 or 8 pm in the Summer does not allow for guests to view these sights, and even in the Fall and Winter you only get a few precious hours of darkness to experience the wonders of the park. Extended Evening hours will afford guests this opportunity again.

Extended Evening Hours are a perk offered to guests staying at one of Disney’s Deluxe resorts that provides an additional 2 hours of park time after the normal closure. Extended Evening Hours are currently offered at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios, however, the Halloween and Christmas parties greatly limit the availability of Magic Kingdom for Extended Evening Hours. The park operating calendar calendar through November 8 has been released, and Animal Kingdom does indeed have Extended Evening Hours added for November! We will need to wait until the remainder of November is published to see how the rest of the month shakes out.
