Living with the Land ‘Glimmering Greenhouses’ Holiday Overlay Returns for 2023
The holiday overland for Living with the Land in Epcot has returned! The attraction has just adorned itself with holiday decorations in anticipation of its temporary metamorphosis into the enchanting Living with the Land – Glimmering Greenhouses. This version of the attraction will be available from November 24 through December 30.
The greenhouses throughout the attraction have been decorated with wreaths, presents, and lights! As guests exit the tunnel and enter the first greenhouse, festive decorations come into view. The greenery, including the breadfruit tree encountered shortly after leaving the tunnel, is adorned with festive lights that add a touch of holiday charm.
Holiday displays can be seen in the greenhouses throughout the attraction. There are also wreaths made from fruit and other agricultural items.
Upon leaving the aquaculture section of the attraction, guests are welcomed by a Mickey topiary adorned with extra embellishments. Notably, a sizable gold ornament adorns the center of his face, and antlers positioned between his ears transform Mickey into a festive and endearing reindeer-like figure.

Guests are greeted by a giant Christmas tree that is decorated with ornaments from around the world! It’s topped with an angel holding a globe.
The Canada Pavilion is decorated with wreaths and garland. There’s even skis decorating a light pole!
The France Pavilion is glistening with garland and wreaths on the building, snowflakes suspended between the buildings, and giant ornaments featuring scenes from France inside.
The Germany Pavilion is so colorful and bright! The buildings are decorated with garland, bows, wreaths, and ornaments. Poinsettias abound in the pavilion as well!
The Norway Pavilion is lovely with its Christmas decorations. Even the trolls are decorated for the holiday season!
The Mexico Pavilion features so many colorful decorations for the holidays. Bright, colorful garland and banners hang outside the buildings.
The American Adventure building in the American Pavilion is also decorated with lights and garland.
Light posts in the United Kingdom Pavilion are wrapped with cheerful decorations and the Christmas tea set can be seen in a planter.

The seagulls at The Seas with Nemo & Friends have returned! They were gone for some time while the sign and exterior of the attraction was being refurbished.
The seagulls were removed back in September. Since then, the rocks they sit on have received a paint touch-up. Now, those squawking birds are back in Epcot!
The rocks aren’t the only part of the exterior that got a touch up. Much of the outside of the building has been painted and the mural wall near the entrance has been worked on.

Walt Disney Animation Studiosโ all-new musical comedy โWishโ will be released on November 22, 2023. “Wish” invites audiences to the kingdom of Rosas, where Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force, a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront the ruler of Rosas, King Magni๏ฌco to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.
During a recent press conference at the Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, we heard from the filmmakers about the creative process and the inspiration behind the film. In attendance were Jennifer Lee (Writer/Executive Producer), Chris Buck (Director), Fawn Veerasunthorn (Director), Peter Del Vecho (Producer), Julia Michaels (Songwriter), and Juan Pablos Reyes Lancaster Jones (Producer).
Both directors were asked about the creative collaboration how the challenges were at the same time, and what the benefits were.
Fawn commented by saying, “Yeah, the wish was the same to work at Disney Animation. So it was so interesting to get to hear Chris talking. He mentioned earlier that when you have a wish, you speak it out loud. And he did when he was younger. And I was like, oh, man, I should have done that. I spent my day doubting myself. So we have different journeys but we put all of those aspects into this story, and it was great.”
Chris Buck continued, “I was lucky enough to train under the 9 old men. I definitely felt like they were handing the baton to the new generation.”
The ๏ฌlmโs innovative visual watercolor storybook style, brought to life through CG, evokes watercolor paintings that inspired the studiosโ earliest ๏ฌlms like 1937โs โSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs,โ 1940โs โPinocchioโ and 1959โs โSleeping Beauty.โ Says Veerasunthorn, โIt was our intention to go back to what inspired Walt himself the artists, the illustrators, the watercolor-storybook style, and the way they frame those illustrations. I ๏ฌnd it really beautiful. I wasnโt sure at ๏ฌrst how we were going to achieve it, but we all held hands it was a big collaboration. We knew if we started at the beginning the art that inspired those who were here 70, 80, 90 years ago, it would carry us all through.โ
At the heart of โWishโโlike so many of the Disney features that came before it is the music. โSo many of our beloved ๏ฌlms are musicals,โ Del Vecho says. โWhen you think of Disney, you think of a range of emotions. You want to feel like youโve been on a roller coaster and part of that emotion comes from music. These ultimately classic songs evoke deeper levels of emotion than we could convey with dialogue alone.โ
When considering the songs and the songwriter for โWish,โ the ๏ฌlmmakers wanted to ๏ฌnd someone who could deliver both a timeless and contemporary sound. Says Lee, โJulia Michaels is an extraordinary talent, and Julia, along with her writing partner Benjamin Rice, have created original songs that inspired all of us working on the ๏ฌlm. Her collaborative process was so special, really siฦซng down with us and talking about the motivations of our characters.โ
When asked about how she started with Disney, Julia commented about how it all happened.
“Fun fact I used to do was go round the city to pay my rent and I got called in one day to do the backgrounds for the Demi Lovato version of Let It Go and I had no idea 10 years later that I would be writing the songs with the directors of the film from Frozen. But yes, wreck it, Ralph, Ralph breaks the Internet. Really was kind of my end to Disney. I had met Tom MacDougall back when he was doing music supervision for Disney and I had a meeting with him and I was like, I’m a Disney nerd. I’m a Disney fan. Please let me do something, anything for this company. And he called me one day for Ralph breaks the Internet. And he was like, we need like, a reimagination of this song called Slaughter Race. OK, challenge accepted. And it was just so much fun and so cool. And so when I got the call he was like, we need to try something new, it’s the 100th anniversary of Disney Animation.
According to Tom MacDougall, executive music producer/president of Walt Disney Music, Michaels, and Rice represent a bold direction for songwriters at Disney Animation because previous musicals most often enlisted pros from the theater world. โ[Julia and Ben] come from a pop-writing backgroundโJulia is the youngest person ever to write all of the songs for a Disney Animation feature,โ says MacDougall.

CBS to Honor Dick Van Dyke With 98th Birthday Special
Television and film icon Dick Van Dyke is set to receive a special tribute on CBS next month. Titled “Dick Van Dyke: 98 Years of Magic,” the celebration will air on Thursday, Dec. 21, from 9:00 to 11:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network and will be available for streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs).
Honoring the Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning Van Dyke for his lasting impact on the arts and entertainment, the tribute will transport viewers back to the iconic set of The Dick Van Dyke Show.
The two-hour special will feature music and dance, live performances, appearances by special guests, and a festive holiday segment. Additionally, the event will showcase highlights from Van Dyke’s illustrious career spanning nearly a century, including memorable moments from Mary Poppins, Bye Bye Birdie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and more, through songs and archival footage.
Of the honor Van Dyke said, โI started with CBS under contract in 1955 with the CBS morning show, thenย The Dick Van Dyke Showย andย Diagnosis Murder. โIโve been with the CBS family for almost 70 years, and I couldnโt be prouder. Iโm incredibly honored that CBS will be throwing a 98thย birthday special for me. Canโt wait to be part of the show!โ
The executive producers for “Dick Van Dyke: 98 Years of Magic” include Craig and Clara Plestis from Smart Dog Media. Deena Katz will handle casting and also serve as an executive producer, while Ashley Edens takes on the role of showrunner. Dick Van Dyke and his wife, Arlene Silver, are set to produce alongside White Label Productions.

To celebrate Mickey Mouseโs birthday after 95 years of magic, The Walt Disney Company is sharing a commemorative look at the โTrue Originalโ in a brand spot that showcases his iconic roles, enduring legacy, and connection to fans around the world. The brand spot features rare footage of Walt Disney voicing the beloved character; a clip fromย Steamboat Willie, the classic theatrical short from 1928 that introduced the world to both Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse; and a voiceover from Walt reflecting on what Mickey means to him.
Itโs a fitting celebration for Mickey, given his universal appeal and his ability to emotionally connect with generations all over the world.
On Disney+, fans can celebrate Mickeyโs birthday by watching a collection films and series starring the mouse who started it allโincluding recently remastered Archive Shorts, Mickey Mouse Funhouse episodes, and Me & Mickey shorts newly released to the platform.

Earlier this week, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney XD kicked off the festivities with โMickeyโs Mouse-a-riffic Birthday Weekโ programming. The weeklong event included the premiere of the Mickey Mouse Funhouse episode โMickeyโs Sky-High Birthday/The What About Me Birthday,โ and will continue through today.
Indeed, for nearly a century, Mickey and Minnie have made their way into the homes and hearts of fans around the world through films, series, merchandise, and more. Today, fans of all ages are able to not only meet the characters at Disney Parks and Resorts, but at special events around the world.
And so, as part of their birthday celebration, Mickey and Minnie visited Chicago on Thursday to attend a special preview of Disney100: The Exhibition, the second stop in the domestic tour presented by the Walt Disney Archives, opening to the public today. Mickey and Minnie will also serve as Grand Marshals in the Magnificent Mile Tree-Lighting Parade today, helping to kick off the holiday season.

If the 2024-2025 pass is purchased before November 28, it provides a year of Frontier Miles Silver Elite Status for flyers. This elite status encompasses benefits like complimentary seat assignments, waiver of change/cancel fees for changes made seven days or more before departure, priority boarding, and priority customer care, as specified by the airline.

Beginning Nov. 17, 2023, for a limited time, a new water short highlighting the story behind the wishing star from Walt Disney Animation Studios film, โWish,โ will be presented ahead of โWorld of Color โ Season of Lightโ at Disney California Adventure Park. When the lights dim around Paradise Bay, Asha and Star take guests on a journey set to the song โThis Wishโ from the film.
Animated projections, majestic fountains synchronized to music, dazzling lasers, and sparkling lighting effects magically combine to tell the story of how stars can guide, inspire and remind us to believe in possibility. Disneyโs โWishโ debuts in theaters November 22.

World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland is opening tomorrow, November 20! This new land, themed to the Disney animated film Frozen, is the first land themed to Frozen and will be full of fun and excitement! Take a look at all we know about the new land.
World of Frozen is a Frozen themed land that fully immerses guests into the world of the films during the celebration of Summer Snow Day. Yes, a real life Arendelle โ the kingdom and home of Queen Anna and Elsa.
