The TARDIS, a seemingly unassuming blue police box from 1960s Britain, holds a universe within. This iconic time machine, short for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space, can travel anywhere in time and space. Though originally designed to camouflage itself, the TARDIS’s “chameleon circuit” malfunctioned early in its travels, leaving it permanently disguised as a police box.

In a 2022 deal, Disney+ became the new home for Doctor Who in many regions. Fans got a taste of the timey-wimey adventures with last year’s 60th-anniversary specials. The festive season saw Ncuti Gatwa debut as the Doctor in a Christmas special.

To celebrate the upcoming season, a replica TARDIS even materialized at Disneyland! As its sign proclaimed, the season kicks off with a double-episode premiere on May 10th on both Disney+ (for some regions) and BBC iPlayer, followed by its BBC One broadcast on May 11th.

The upcoming season of Doctor Who, also known as series 14 or season 1, features Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, joined by newcomer Millie Gibson as his companion, Ruby Sunday. Familiar faces returning this season include Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, Bonnie Langford as Mel Bush, and Yasmin Finney as Rose Noble. The season also welcomes new cast members Jonathan Groff, Jinkx Monsoon, and Indira Varma.
