We’re getting new details on two incredible holiday specials airing on ABC from Disney Parks Blog. This season, ABC and Disney Parks have prepared two festive specials, showcasing dazzling musical performances by beloved celebrities.

Filmed at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Resort in California, Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai‘i, and aboard Disney Cruise Line, these specials hold a cherished place in my family’s holiday traditions.

They bring us together to revel in timeless holiday classics, along with original music and heartwarming narratives. Each year, we eagerly anticipate glimpses of new attractions at Disney Parks, and in this edition, you can savor a magical sneak peek of Disney’s latest blockbuster, “Wish,” set to hit theaters on November 22, 2023.

Derek and Julianne Hough return to host “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration” airing on ABC on Sunday, Nov. 26 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST). They’re joined by country music star Mickey Guyton and “The Golden Bachelor” host Jesse Palmer as co-hosts for the 40^th anniversary of “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” airing on ABC on Monday, Dec. 25 (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. EST/9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. PST). Both specials will also stream on Hulu and Disney+ the day after their premieres.

This year’s “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration” features a special appearance by DJ Khaled along with the following musical performances:

Scarlett Johansson Still Developing Disney’s Tower of Terror Movie

After the resolution of the writers’ and actors’ strikes, Scarlett Johansson’s Tower of Terror project is back on track. Having joined as a producer in 2021, the Avengers star enlisted Toy Story 4 co-writer and director Josh Cooley to craft the script, while Taika Waititi, the filmmaker behind Thor: Love and Thunder, was set to direct.

Amidst Johansson’s legal action against the studio regarding the Black Widow streaming release, she has affirmed on TODAY that Tower of Terror is still in progress at Disney under her company, These Pictures.

“Now that the writers’ strike has concluded, we can finally immerse ourselves in refining this script. It’s a substantial, ambitious endeavor,” Johansson remarked, expressing her enthusiasm as “a huge Disney fan.”

Disney originally transformed its theme park drop ride into a TV movie in 1997, featuring Kirsten Dunst and Steve Guttenberg. A reboot has been in development since 2017, with the latest iteration drawing from a treatment by John August (known for Corpse Bride and Disney’s live-action Aladdin) for producer Jim Whitaker (involved in Pete’s Dragon and Disney’s Peter Pan & Wendy).

While plot details are still under wraps, the narrative of The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror ride revolves around ill-fated hotel patrons vanishing under mysterious and supernatural circumstances when lightning strikes their elevator.

In June, Johansson confirmed to ComicBook that the Tower of Terror project is still underway. “It is still happening. Yes,” she asserted, addressing the backdrop of the WGA writers’ strike and preceding the SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike. “It is still happening, [but] not currently because nothing is happening right now.”

“We’re all sort of in this holding pattern as we wait out the writers’ strike and potentially our own guild strike, and so on and so forth,” she explained. Johansson emphasized the project’s status, stating, “Right before the [writers’] strike, we were in the middle of developing it, and now everything is at a simmer.”

Meet Mossie the Baby Troll at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland

World of Frozen opens soon in Hong Kong Disneyland and with it comes a fun new character! A new interactive baby troll is the surprise star of the World of Frozen and joins beloved “Frozen” characters Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Oaken strolling the streets of Arendelle interacting with guests.

Mossie is an original character conceptualized by the team at Hong Kong Disneyland and created in partnership with Disney Live Entertainment at Walt Disney World. The teams worked closely together in partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studios to create a magical experience where guests could meet the young trolls as seen in the films in a new, and fun way only Disney could do.

Here are three fun facts to know about Mossie before you chat with her:

Mossie is carried by her “nari” or teacher who helps Mossie learn about the human world.
Mossie loves meeting new people and is fascinated to learn where people are from and what they have with them. Don’t be surprised if she asks you lots of questions!
Mossie loves to be in portraits so be sure to take lots of photos and selfies with her.

Disneyland Holiday Candy Cane Distribution Schedule Revealed

The Disneyland holiday candy cane distribution schedule has been announced! These hand made candy canes are a popular treat during the holiday season and can be difficult to get your hands on. Take a look at when and how you can get a candy cane.

There are two locations to get the candy canes from this year and only 14 days they will be available. Take a look at where and when they’ll be available:

Candy Palace: December 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, & 24
Trolley Treats: December 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, & 25

You’ll also need to enter a mobile waitlist in order to have a chance at purchasing a candy cane.

“For a chance to purchase one of the candy canes this year, a mobile waitlist system will be used, as quantities are very limited.

Once the mobile waitlist is activated, you can add your name and phone number at the location to receive a text back with a time to return to the location for the opportunity to purchase your candy cane, subject to availability.”

We have all of the latest details on the 2024 Epcot International Festival of the Arts ready for you!

EPCOT is set to dazzle once again with its vibrant celebration of creativity and cuisine as the International Festival of the Arts returns in 2024, starting on January 12 and running through February 19. Known for its unique blend of visual, culinary, and performing arts, the festival promises an array of new and returning favorites that will delight guests of all ages.

The festival’s “Art in Action” section will showcase a range of talented artists and their work. From painting and photography to sculpture and digital art, guests can expect an immersive experience that highlights the diverse world of visual arts.

A feast for the senses awaits at the “Culinary Arts” booths scattered throughout the park. These booths, famous for their artistic presentation and innovative flavors, will feature new menu items along with classic favorites, offering a culinary tour de force that mirrors the creative spirit of the festival.

The performing arts will not be left behind, with an exciting lineup of live performances. The DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series is set to return, featuring stars from Disney’s Broadway shows. For families, the festival will offer interactive workshops and activities designed to inspire and engage. Upon finding Figment, they add a sticker to their map. Completed maps can be returned for a special keepsake.

Festive Merry Menagerie Merchandise Available At Animal Kingdom!

The holiday season arrived to Walt Disney World, and with that comes new Merry Menagerie Merchandise at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We found ornaments, plush and apparel to celebrate this magical season and show.

There are two different ornament designs available, one features different merry menagerie like a polar bear, penguin, seal and more and the other features Disney’s Animal Kingdom logo in the shape of a snowflake with reindeers all around.

Our favorite merch item are definitely the plush! They are so adorable and fluffy, a great souvenir to remember this festive show, you can get a penguin, seal, polar bear or fox and have a cute cuddling buddy for the holiday season.

Finally, we found a blue hoodie with the snow flake featuring some of the merry menagerie and Animal Kingdom logo at the bottom. A great piece to keep warm this season.
