Fellow Halloween Horror Nights aficionados: we have another Haunted House announcement to share with you! The official Halloween Horror Nights social media accounts have announced the theme for the fourth of ten houses for this year’s event: The Museum: Deadly Exhibit.

The house is described by Universal as follows:

You’re going to check out The Rotting Stone, the local folklore museum’s infamous new exhibit. An evil spirit escapes from within, possessing the other displays and decaying everything in its path.

This is the 4th house that has been announced since Friday, with all 4 being original themes, joining Major Sweets Candy Factory, Goblin’s Feast, and Slaughter Sinema 2.. If Universal sticks to its typical formula, we will see 1 more original house announced and 5 based on IP (there have been times when we have had 6 original houses and 4 based on IP however).

We are just two days away from the debut of the all-new “Disney Dreams That Soar” nighttime drone show at Disney Springs. The addition of the new show has prompted some operational changes to enhance your evening experience. Here’s everything you need to know about the new show and the updated hours for various activities and transportation services.

Operational Changes

Vintage Amphicar Tours: Typically running from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the tours will now conclude at 8 p.m. This change allows for a clear and unobstructed view of the upcoming drone show.

Aerophile — The World Leader in Balloon Flight: This popular attraction, which usually operates from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., will also end its flights at 8 p.m. to ensure an undisturbed sky for the drones.

Sassagoula River Cruise: The scenic cruises between Disney Springs and Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, and Port Orleans – French Quarter will also adjust their schedules. The final departure from Disney Springs, previously at 11:30 p.m., will now be at 8 p.m.

About “Disney Dreams That Soar”

From May 24 through September 2, 2024, Disney Springs will dazzle guests with “Disney Dreams That Soar,” performed nightly above Lake Buena Vista on the West Side. There will be two showings each evening, at 9 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., giving guests plenty of opportunities to catch this breathtaking performance.

The show will feature 800 drones creating stunning visuals and bringing beloved Disney characters to life, including those from “Star Wars,” “Toy Story,” “WALL-E,” “Big Hero 6,” and more. Accompanied by enchanting Disney musical scores, the drones will create a magical synergy with MagicBand+ for an immersive experience.

Viewing Areas

Prime viewing spots for “Disney Dreams That Soar” are located on the Disney Springs West Side, along the waterfront between the Cirque du Soleil Theatre and the Aerophile. These areas will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early to secure a good spot.

The new process, which requires guests to participate in a live video chat with a Cast Member to assess eligibility, it also includes a requirement for users to waive their right to participate in class action lawsuits related to the service.

“I understand that after an individualized decision regarding my personal circumstances I may be offered DAS, alternative accommodations, or no accommodations at all. This provision has sparked concerns among some disability advocates and legal experts, who argue that it limits the rights of individuals with disabilities seeking legal recourse if they encounter issues with the DAS system. By requiring users to forego class action lawsuits, Disney effectively prevents them from joining together to pursue legal claims, potentially making it more difficult for individuals to hold the company accountable.

More Good to Go Days Added for Annual Passholders in Late May

Great news for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders! Disney has just announced some extra “Good to Go Days” for late May 2024. This means you can visit any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks on these days without needing a park reservation:

The “Good-to-Go Days” program lets Annual Passholders skip the reservation step and head straight to any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks! Check the Walt Disney World Passholder Admission Calendar for the latest list of these reservation-free days.

Disney will be adding more “Good-to-Go Days” throughout the year, so keep an eye out for announcements – they could come out days or even weeks in advance. Remember, blackout dates still apply depending on your pass tier.

Annual Passholders get some extra flexibility! You can skip the reservations and enter any park (except Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays) after 2 pm, as long as it’s not a blackout date for your pass tier.

Using Park Hopper as an Annual Passholder is easy! Just make a reservation for your first park and enter it before hopping to others. Alternatively, skip reservations entirely on “Good-to-Go Days” or by entering any park (except Magic Kingdom Saturdays/Sundays after 2 pm) on a non-blackout day for your pass.

Halloween Night Officially Sold Out for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom is spooktacularly popular this year! According to Disney World’s website, tickets for Halloween night have already sold out.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event at Magic Kingdom Park that runs on select nights from August 9 through October 31 this year.

Be aware that Halloween night is the most popular night, and it has already sold out! Tickets typically sell out quickly for this event each year.

Event prices range from $119 to $199 per ticket, with Annual Passholders receiving a $10 discount. For Halloween night (October 31st), the price was $199 (plus tax).

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place on select nights from August 9th through October 31st. The party itself runs from 7 pm to midnight, but the fun starts even earlier for those with tickets.

Guests with valid event tickets can enter Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4 pm, giving them a chance to enjoy the park before the party officially kicks off. Pixar Studios Hit with More Layoffs as Part of Disney’s Company-Wide Cost-Cutting Measures

Pixar Studios underwent a significant workforce reduction on Tuesday, laying off roughly 14% of its employees. This translates to approximately 175 positions eliminated.

Pixar recently underwent a workforce reduction, impacting around 14% of its employees. This news comes after months of anticipation following initial reports in January suggesting possible layoffs. The actual cuts were less severe than the speculated 20%.

Pixar president Jim Morris sent a note to staff saying that individuals who have been impacted by the layoffs will be notified on Tuesday. “Calendar invites to speak with a leader have already gone out to those individuals, and we anticipate we will have connected with everyone impacted by the end of the day,” he wrote.

Pixar, once a powerhouse animation studio, has faced challenges since the pandemic. Disney’s streaming focus and recent box office flops like “Lightyear” suggest a decline. While “Elemental” performed better than expected, it fell short of past successes.

“During COVID, we trained audiences to watch our movies on Disney+. I won’t say there was a lot of choice,” Morris said last summer. “For periods of time, it was the only thing we could do. We have a little work to unring the bell and motivate families to go to the theater and not wait a few months to see it on Disney+.”

Pixar looks to bounce back with the upcoming theatrical release of “Inside Out 2” in June, hoping to recapture its magic with audiences. Excitement is building for this sequel, and Pixar also has “Elio” slated for 2025 and “Toy Story 5” in 2026. The studio behind classics like “Finding Nemo,” “Up,” and “The Incredibles” aims to reignite its animation powerhouse status.

Morris ended the staff memo saying, “Despite the challenges in our industry over the past few years, you have all consistently shown up to contribute, collaborate, innovate, lead, and do great work at this studio. I give you my deepest thanks, and for those who will be leaving us, I am hopeful that our paths will cross again, both professionally and personally.”
