Disneyland Warns Lifetime Ban Possible for False Statements in Disability Access Service Registration

Disneyland fans who hope to take advantage of DAS at the parks, don’t be a Pinocchio! Guests caught lying during the registration process face a lifetime ban from both Disneyland and Disney World parks.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World are both cracking down on misuse of their Disability Access Service (DAS) program. Announced this Tuesday, stricter guidelines aim to ensure the program serves those who truly need it.

This change addresses concerns about increased wait times for all guests due to program abuse. The stricter DAS program rolls out on June 18th at Disneyland and May 20th at Walt Disney World.

Disneyland’s website reminds guests in the FAQ section that attempting to misuse the updated DAS program will be taken seriously.

“If it is determined that any of the statements a guest made in the process of obtaining DAS are not true, the guest will be permanently barred from entering the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort, and any previously purchased Annual Passes, Magic Key passes, tickets and other park products and services will be forfeited and not refunded.”

The surge in DAS usage is likely fueled by the proliferation of “Disneyland line hack” videos on social media. These videos exploit a program designed to help guests with disabilities by suggesting ways to skip lines without paying for Genie+.

Originally, DAS aimed to assist visitors who genuinely struggle with extended queuing due to disabilities. However, the updated system seems to focus solely on guests with developmental disabilities, like autism or similar conditions, who find waiting in lines particularly challenging.

What do you think of the changes coming to Disneyland’s DAS program?
