Sports fans will be able to catch their favorite NCAA teams on ESPN for the foreseeable future. ESPN, the sports network owned by the Walt Disney Company, and the NCAA have agreed on a new 8-year media deal.
ESPN and the NCAA have just made a big deal to keep showing college sports events on ESPN channels and online platforms. This partnership has been going strong since ESPN started in 1979, and it’s only getting better! Fans will see their favorite NCAA championships, like women’s basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, and more, mainly on ABC and ESPN.
Every year, you can catch more than 2,300 hours of exciting college sports, including 800 hours on channels like ESPN and ABC. With ESPN+, fans can exclusively watch select rounds of championships and enjoy over 24,000 college games from different conferences. Since launching in April 2018, ESPN+ has quickly become a favorite with over 25 million subscribers enjoying live games, shows, and articles.

Guests heading to Walt Disney World later this month will have a few more hours to play in the parks. Disney has extended the hours at both Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom for late January!
Hours have been extended at Animal Kingdom for the benefit of early risers. The park will now open at 8 am on January 21, January 22, January 26, and January 27. The park will be open an hour later from January 21 through January 2th, closing at 7 p.m.
Over at Magic Kingdom guests will get extra hours in the evening, with the park closing at 11 pm on January 21, 26, and 27, and at 10 pm on January 22 through 25.

In addition to the bedroom and great room details previously disclosed, the floor plan reveals the incorporation of a wooden deck, measuring about 8 feet by 20 feet. While the concept art primarily illustrates steps leading up to the deck, it’s worth noting that several cabins will also feature a ramp, ensuring accessibility for all guests.
Each cabin will be equipped with a charcoal grill, perfect for outdoor gatherings and family barbecues. Additionally, designated parking spaces will be available for the convenience of cabin occupants.

This weekend marks the end of an era for Universal Orlando’s shoppers and memorabilia enthusiasts as the Universal Legacy Store prepares to close its doors for the last time on January 7, according to reporting by Click Orlando. The closure is to make room for a new, yet-to-be-revealed experience for visitors. While details are sparse, excitement is brewing over what Universal Orlando plans to introduce next.
The Universal Legacy Store, which opened in 2021, offered a unique glimpse into the world of Universal Orlando. Guests had the chance to see and buy props, photographs, and models from some of the resort’s most popular attractions and shows. The store is one of two special gift shops within Universal CityWalk, alongside the main Universal Studios Store located nearby.
While Universal has not yet confirmed what will replace the Legacy Store, rumors have been circulating for several weeks that the store will be used as a preview center for Universal’s Epic Universe theme park, slated to open in 2025.

Every year purple martins travel over 3000 miles from the Brazilian rainforest to Walt Disney World. And every year, Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment team prepares, maintains and observes the purple martin bird houses at Disney World. The birds lay eggs and care for their chicks until they learn to fly. Then, they return to Brazil.
Disney conservation tracks the purple martins to understand where they go in Brazil. The research helps them learn about the birds habitats, including the small islands they frequent along the Amazon River. Have you ever seen these beautiful birds at Disney World?

Louisiana Blacksmith Forges Metal Weathervane for Disney’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Work continues on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. Recently, a new custom handcrafted metal weathervane was installed at the attraction. This weathervane was forged by Louisiana’s master blacksmith, Darryl Reeves.
In the spirited city of New Orleans, you can barely walk two blocks before seeing metalwork by Darryl, a 3rd generation master blacksmith and Vietnam Veteran. Whether it’s historic wrought iron fences or intricately designed custom pieces, his work is displayed across the city, and in fact, around the world. With over 50 years of service to his craft and city, it’s no wonder why Disney asked Darryl to create the weathervane; one of the high points of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Inside Darryl’s workshop in the historic Seventh Ward in New Orleans, you can feel the heat emanating from the many furnaces used to create his shop’s labors of love. The immense artistry and complexity displayed by Darryl and his apprentices is evident in the dozens of works displayed in his gallery.
“I take metal and do anything I want with it,” the master blacksmith proudly says. “To have a free hand to design and fabricate the weathervane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure…that’s an honor.”
Just like a good pot of gumbo, Darryl and his apprentice, Karina, have taken everything they’ve learned throughout their careers to help us tell the story of Princess Tiana and her journey to open Tiana’s Foods.
What sets Princess Tiana’s weathervane apart is that it’s crafted using centuries old techniques with a subtle African flair. You can feel the love Darryl and Karina have poured into this smoldering iron to shape it into a masterpiece.

The local Batuu Image Specialists, also known as Disney PhotoPass photographers on Earth, are ready to offer personalized 20-minute photo sessions titled Capture Your Moment. These sessions are designed to beautifully document the adventures of visitors, whether they be scoundrels, rogues, smugglers, or dedicated members of the Resistance! Rest assured, the sole mission of these Image Specialists is to provide travelers with stunning photos to cherish and share upon their return to their home planet.
Within these exclusive sessions, Disney’s Image Specialists, armed with state-of-the-art holoscanning droids, will accompany you on a journey across Batuu. They’ll seamlessly process scans at iconic locations such as the Millennium Falcon or a First Order Shuttle, the bustling market in Black Spire Outpost, amidst the breathtaking landscapes of verdant forests, and towering mountains, or wherever your exploration on this captivating planet takes you. The possibilities are as vast as the galaxy itself!
To add an extra layer of excitement to your mission documentation, your dedicated Image Specialist can also provide you with an array of artifacts that will enhance your visual narrative. The choice is truly yours, and the result will be a collection of memories that encapsulate the essence of your unique Star Wars adventure.
Each Capture Your Moment photo session is $99 and can include up to eight guests. Photos are not included with the price of a session. However, those with a Disney PhotoPass entitlement such as Memory Maker or Memory Maker One Day, as well as qualifying Annual Passholders with a Disney PhotoPass download benefit, can download the photos taken during a session at no extra cost. You can also opt to purchase photos individually.
Bookings for this new Capture Your Moment experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open on Jan. 17, with sessions offered daily during regular park hours starting Jan. 24. Bookings can be made up to 60 days in advance, and advance reservations are strongly recommended. May the Force Be With You!
