Gina Carano Suing Disney and LucasFilm, Funded By Elon Musk/X

On February 6, 2024, Gina Carano initiated legal action against Disney and Lucasfilm, citing her dismissal from “The Mandalorian” in 2021. Carano’s termination came in the wake of her controversial social media activity, which included likening being Republican in present-day America to being Jewish during the Holocaust and ridiculing mask-wearing as a preventive measure against COVID-19 transmission.

Elon Musk is providing financial backing for the lawsuit. Last November, Disney withdrew advertisements from Musk’s X platform due to their placement alongside antisemitic content, coupled with Musk’s endorsement of an antisemitic conspiracy theory. Musk has since expressed dissatisfaction with the situation on multiple occasions, directing profanity-laden remarks toward Disney CEO Bob Iger and demanding Iger’s dismissal.

Joe Benarroch, head of business operations at X tweeted, “As a sign of X Corp.’s commitment to free speech, we’re proud to provide financial support for Gina Carano’s lawsuit, empowering her to seek vindication of her free speech rights on X and the ability to work without bullying, harassment, or discrimination.”

The lawsuit has been filed in the state of California seeking monetary damages and a return of Gina’s character “Cara Dune” to the Star Wars universe. Carano appeared in both seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian now airing on Disney+.

ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Forming Joint Streaming Sports Service in the U.S.

ESPN, FOX, and Warner Bros. Discovery are joining forces to create an innovative streaming sports service set to launch in the fall of 2024. This collaboration, subject to final agreements, will establish a new Joint Venture (JV) that brings together the extensive sports portfolios, direct-to-consumer (DTC) services, and sports rights of these prominent media companies.

Under the proposed pay service, fans can expect a comprehensive sports content lineup, encompassing major professional sports leagues and college sports. The service is designed to cater to sports enthusiasts, delivering a unique and engaging experience, particularly for those seeking alternatives to traditional pay-TV bundles.

Scheduled for release via a new app, subscribers will not only gain access to a wide array of linear sports networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV, but also ESPN+. The platform aims to offer a focused, all-in-one premier sports service that goes beyond conventional offerings, providing fans with a dynamic and differentiated sports-watching experience.

Moreover, subscribers will have the flexibility to bundle this sports service with popular streaming platforms like Disney+, Hulu, and/or Max. The collaboration between ESPN, FOX, and Warner Bros. Discovery aims to create a one-stop destination for sports content, enhancing the accessibility and enjoyment for fans across the United States.

Man Uses 46 Year Old Theme Park Ticket to get into the Magic Kingdom

A man was recently able to enter the Magic Kingdom at Disney World using a 46 year old theme park ticket!

Matthew Ables took to TikTok to reveal that he successfully gained entry to Magic Kingdom this year using a Disney World ticket from 1978 that he stumbled upon in his family home.

Ables uploaded a video showcasing the vintage ticket booklet, then headed to Orlando to test his luck. At Guest Services, he presented the ticket booklet, and much to his and our amazement, the Cast Member voided it and replaced it with a valid park ticket.

Ables mentioned that the 46-year-old ticket lacked an expiration date, leading Disney to honor it. You can see his video on TikTok:
