First Look at Mickey and Minnie’s New Spooky Costumes for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is kicking off this week, and Walt Disney World has shared an updated look at the brand-new Halloween costumes that Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be wearing! First revealed via concept art back in May 2024, Walt Disney World shared this updated look at Mickey and Minnie in their costumes via a Reel on Instagram.
Both characters are decked out in ghostly shades of green, purple, and pink, with spiderweb accents. Mickey sports a green tuxedo with a pink vest, green bat tie, and purple top hat. Minnie, on the other hand, is dressed like an adorable witch with a purple and green dress, striped tights, and a pointy witch’s hat.
In the video, the pair appear and disappear to the “Boo to You!” parade theme song off to the side of Cinderella Castle at night. Watch the fun video below!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off on Friday, August 9, and runs on select evenings through October 31. Multiple dates for the event have already sold out. Walt Disney World recently released the event’s trick-or-treat locations throughout Magic Kingdom, and decorations have begun appearing in the park. Will you be attending the party?!
Disney World Annual Passholders Can Enjoy Lion King Treats and Perks at Animal Kingdom
Walt Disney World Annual Passholders are in for a “Hakuna Matata” time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with exclusive treats and photo opportunities inspired by the beloved Lion King characters, Timon and Pumbaa.
From August 14th to September 22nd, 2024, Passholders can snag a free Timon and Pumbaa magnet at Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures during park hours.
But that’s not all! Satisfy your sweet cravings with the Rafiki Wildberry and DOLE Whip® Orange Float, available at Trilo-Bites. This tropical concoction features wildberry syrup and Fanta Orange swirled into an orange-flavored DOLE Whip®, a refreshing delight for those hot summer days in the park.
To capture the magic of the moment, Passholders can also pose for a special Magic Shot with a prop of Timon and Pumbaa’s favorite snack – a grub! The Disney PhotoPass photographer will be located by Discovery River between Africa and Asia, ready to snap a photo that will magically include the mischievous duo.
Remember, a valid Annual Pass card or linked digital pass is required to claim the magnet and take the Magic Shot. Theme park admission and reservations may also be necessary for entry, depending on the time of day.

Visitors can check out the Disney Stitch Inspired By Elvis Collection Pop-Up Shop for all the new merchandise and take a fun photo op. Elvis Week also features an outdoor luau party with a screening of Disney’s Lilo & Stitch on August 10th.
Online and Retail Stores: Following the D23 and Elvis Week launches, the Disney Stitch Inspired By Elvis Collection will be available at authorized NECA retailers, as well as online at necaonline.com and kidrobot.com.

Tortuga Tavern Transforms into ‘Tortuga Treasures’ at Magic Kingdom
The former Tortuga Tavern at Magic Kingdom has undergone a temporary makeover, reopening as “Tortuga Treasures,” a pirate-themed gift shop. This change comes after Tortuga Tavern closed indefinitely on June 7, 2024.
While much of the original Tortuga Tavern theming remains, the menu board has been replaced with a pirate map graphic, and the former quick-service meal payment area now serves as the gift shop’s checkout counters.
The shop offers a wide array of pirate-themed merchandise, most of which was previously available at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the gift shop located at the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean.
The interior seating area of Tortuga Treasures remains intact, providing guests with a space to relax and enjoy any snacks or refreshments they may have purchased.
Meanwhile, Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar is currently closed for refurbishment, with black scrim covering sections of what were once merchandise displays. The entrance to the former Pirates League transformation experience is also roped off, as it has remained closed since the park’s temporary shutdown in 2020 due to COVID-19.
Disney previously announced at Destination D23 in 2023 that a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge would be coming to Magic Kingdom. This new offering aims to expand the story of the attraction and will feature the return of Peg-Leg Pete, the beloved animatronic barker bird that once welcomed guests to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Although the exact location of the new lounge has not been officially confirmed, it is speculated to be situated in this area. Visitors are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates as construction progresses and refurbishment continues in this area.

New theming, and new treats, coming to Candy Cauldron at Disney Springs
Heads up for those of you heading to Disney Springs to satisfy that sweet tooth. Candy Cauldron, the Disney candy factory located in the West Side area of Disney Springs, is closed for a refurbishment.
Candy Cauldron closed recently to have a new theme installed, and is slated to open in the ‘coming months’. The refurbishment will usher in more than simple aesthetic changes, as the location is slated to offer an array of new treats upon reopening. Exact details about what will change during the refurbishment has not yet been released.
Candy Cauldron is a fan-favorite sweets store in Disney Springs. From cake pops and cookies to cupcakes and candies in every color, shape, and size, there’s something for everyone. The shop also offers flavored popcorn and beautifully decorated Disney candy apples. The skilled confectioners at Candy Cauldron meticulously craft these edible masterpieces, many inspired by your favorite Disney characters. It’s a great spot to grab a snack while also indulging in some amazing Disney theming during a visit to Disney Springs!
Halloween Decorations Arrive in the Magic Kingdom Ahead of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Despite the looming threat of Hurricane Debby, Walt Disney World cast members worked diligently to transform Magic Kingdom into a spooky wonderland ahead of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Guests entering the park are greeted by familiar sights of carved pumpkins, scarecrows in various costumes, and an abundance of autumnal decorations.
As you enter the park, you’ll be met by a scarecrow adorned in an overcoat and top hat, complete with a patriotic “Mayor” sash. Another scarecrow, sporting a baseball uniform, stands nearby with a bat and a baseball in its mouth.
Pumpkin structures have also sprouted up around the entrance, with stacked pumpkins perched on crates under the train station. The Roy Disney and Minnie Mouse sculpture is now surrounded by festive Jack-o’-Lanterns, adding to the Halloween spirit.
While the decorations bring a sense of normalcy and excitement for the upcoming festivities, it’s worth noting that they appear to be the same as those used in previous years. So far, there haven’t been any notable additions or changes to the Halloween decor.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off on August 9th and will run on select nights through October 31st. This separately ticketed event offers guests a unique opportunity to experience the magic of Halloween at Magic Kingdom, complete with special parades, shows, character meet-and-greets, and trick-or-treating opportunities.

The magic is about to begin! The Disney D23 Instagram has shared a tantalizing glimpse of the Sorcerer Mickey hat that will be a highlight of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
The iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat is currently under construction but has already begun to take shape. A sneak peek reveals a colossal blue hat adorned with a sparkling star, moon, and a large “D23” logo. Each element will be encrusted with thousands of Swarovski crystals, promising a dazzling display that will greet D23 Expo attendees.
