Ravensburger, renowned for their acclaimed board games and premium toys and puzzles, is unveiling an enticing addition to their award-winning Villainous series: Disney Villainous: Sugar and Spite. This latest installment showcases King Candy from “Wreck-It Ralph” and Shere Khan from “The Jungle Book,” in a fierce two-player format that stands alone, all at a more accessible price point. With innovative racetrack gameplay, Disney Villainous: Sugar and Spite hits stores on June 9 and is currently open for pre-orders on Target.com.

In the inaugural release of its new two-player standalone format, Disney Villainous: Sugar and Spite brings fresh Villain Objectives and mechanics to engage both seasoned and novice players alike. At the core of Disney Villainous lies a straightforward premise: maneuver your Villain across their Realm board and execute the actions available at each location.

However, King Candy’s Realm introduces the exhilarating Sugar Rush Speedway, a track of actions along which the King Candy token, inspired by the character’s racecar, zooms. Players have the ability to move King Candy one to four action spaces on their turn, offering unparalleled flexibility and strategic power in selecting actions. Furthermore, players can utilize the action space they land on, as well as the preceding and succeeding ones, adding layers of strategic depth to gameplay.

Victory in the game hinges on specific objectives for each character: players selecting King Candy must strategically attach a Glitch to Vanellope von Schweetz and then triumph over her in a Sugar Rush Race along the Sugar Rush Speedway. Conversely, those opting for Shere Khan’s character must focus on extinguishing the flames in their Realm and vanquishing Mowgli to assert the dominance of the sinister Bengal tiger over the Jungle. Much like in Disney’s “The Jungle Book” film, gameplay highlights the pivotal role of Shere Khan’s ally, Kaa the Snake.

“One of the reasons Villainous is so beloved is its ability to bring familiar stories to life through game mechanics that are curated from the antagonist’s point of view,” said Mike Mulvihill, Game Development Manager at Ravensburger North America. “King Candy sees himself as the greatest racer ever and goes out of his way to maintain that title – so of course we had to bring that commitment to life in the game. How we did that was by adding a Speedway to King Candy’s Realm and sending him on a race with Vanellope…and as fans of Wreck-it Ralph know, he can’t let her beat him if he wants to stay in command of Sugar Rush.”

Disney Villainous: Sugar and Spite is suitable for 2 players (or up to 4 players when combined with other expandalones) ages 10 and up and is available for $19.99 USD/$29.99 CAD. The average playing time is 20 minutes per player.
