Disney Vacation Club Members have a patriotic perk to look forward to this summer as Disney Vacation Club celebrates America’s 250th birthday with a special Meet & Treat event at Disney’s BoardWalk.

Celebrate America with an Exclusive DVC Character Dance Party at Disney's BoardWalk

The limited-time event will take place on July 1 and July 2, 2026, inside Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk. Eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can stop by from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for complimentary treats and character meet-and-greet opportunities as part of the celebration.

To attend, Members must be eligible for Membership Extras and have a qualifying Disney Vacation Club reservation at a Disney-owned-and-operated Walt Disney World Resort hotel or Disney’s Vero Beach Resort during one of the event dates. Guests can attend only one of the two event days, and no advance registration is required.

Disney notes that attendance will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and the queue may close before the scheduled end time if capacity is reached. Eligible Members may bring up to four guests or everyone staying in their resort room. Members should also remember to bring their digital Membership Card and valid photo ID. Due to potential parking restrictions at Disney’s BoardWalk, Disney recommends using Walt Disney World transportation to access the event.

More Than 400 Alligators Removed From Walt Disney World Since 2016

Newly released records show that more than 400 alligators have been removed from Walt Disney World property since the tragic 2016 death of 2-year-old Lane Graves at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

According to data obtained by local media, state-contracted trappers removed 414 alligators from Disney property during the ten years following the incident. Prior to 2016, an average of about 23 alligators per year were removed from Walt Disney World. That number jumped significantly in 2016, when 83 alligators were removed following the tragedy.

The removals are conducted through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program, which handles alligators that may pose a threat to people, pets, or property. In Florida, nuisance alligators are generally classified as those measuring four feet or longer, although smaller animals can also be removed in certain situations.

In the years since 2016, Walt Disney World has implemented a number of additional safety measures around waterways across the resort. Guests can now find fencing, rock barriers, enhanced warning signage, and restricted shoreline access in many areas. Disney has also continued working closely with wildlife officials while reinforcing training and reporting procedures for Cast Members.

While the number of removals may sound significant, wildlife experts note that Florida’s alligator population remains healthy and stable, with an estimated 1.3 million alligators living throughout the state. The removal efforts are designed to manage interactions between wildlife and the millions of guests who visit Central Florida each year.

It was an honor to be among the first guests and media members to watch Ivy take her first steps into her new home. While giraffe calves are born ready to stand and walk shortly after birth, seeing Ivy cautiously explore the vast savanna alongside her herd was a heartwarming experience. From curious glances to confident strides, it was clear this young giraffe was ready for her next big adventure.

‘Romy and Michele 2’ is Officially Filming

Romy and Michele are back for the ultimate reunion you’ve been waiting for! On Monday morning, 20th Century Studios took to Instagram to officially announce that a sequel to the cult classic, titled Romy and Michele 2, is now in production. The exciting post featured a photo of Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow with their backs to the camera, sitting in chairs customized with the brand-new movie title.

At the time, Sorvino shared that filming was targeting a June start date, confidently adding, “It’s coming. I’m manifesting it.”
