According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Universal might be opening the gates to their massive new park earlier than expected, with tickets possibly going on sale as soon as this month. Get ready to set sail with Disney magic this Thanksgiving! Disney Cruise Line is bringing a brand-new float, “Magic Meets the Seas,” to the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, ushering in the holiday season with a spectacular display of Disney enchantment.

The float’s design showcases the bows of eight Disney Cruise Line ships, with a special highlight on the highly anticipated Disney Treasure, set to embark on its maiden voyage this December. The float celebrates the impressive growth of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, which currently includes five ships and will expand to thirteen by 2031.

Hold onto your candy canes, folks, because the Jingle Cruise is back and ready to deck the hulls! After being lost at sea for a quick refurb (I guess even boats need a little “me-time”), the Jungle Cruise will re-open on October 16th, and the fan-favorite holiday overlay is set to make a triumphant return just in time for the holiday season on Nov 2. And let’s be real – nothing says “Happy Holidays” like getting stuck in the jungle with a boat full of strangers and a skipper whose puns are as dry as a fruitcake.

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure Opening Delayed to Summer 2025 2

Disney fans will need to wait a little longer to “be part of that world” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” has officially been pushed back to summer 2025. This announcement comes on the heels (or should we say fins?) of an updated post on Disney Parks Blog, where the latest news about the show was shared. While many were eagerly anticipating the show to open in fall 2024, Disney’s plans have drifted a bit with the tide.

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure Opening Delayed to Summer 2025 1

The update revealed that Disney is in the process of filing permits for a dazzling new marquee, and work on the exterior of the building will begin soon. This latest update comes on the heals of recent updates from Disney, with updated show art being released and posts indicating work within the theater was well underway. The new show will ultimately take over the space formerly occupied by Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which closed during the COVID-related park shutdowns and has yet to resurface.

Of course, this delay has left some fans feeling like a “poor, unfortunate soul.” After all, this isn’t the first time a Disney project has been delayed. The opening of TRON Lightcycle/Run took over five years, despite being an attraction that had already made its debut in Shanghai Disneyland back in 2016. And let’s not forget the recently completed transformation of EPCOT, which took more years to complete than Ariel has dinglehoppers! While the pandemic certainly threw a wrench into construction timelines, the extended wait times are causing more than a few bubbles of frustration to rise among Disney lovers.

As more details float to the surface, we’ll keep you updated on the magical new experience that promises to bring the world of The Little Mermaid to life in a way that will leave us all singing “Under the Sea.” Stay tuned!

5 New Holiday Additions Coming to Disneyland

The holidays are a time for family, tradition, and gratitude. For many, Holidays at Disneyland Resort perfectly captures the magic and spirit of the season. This year the holiday season runs from November 15, 2024, through January 6, 2025. Take a look at some of the new additions coming to the resort during the holidays!

This holiday season, Santa Claus and select characters will visit and create special memories with guests at the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland, which will also feature cookie decorating, craft making, storytelling and atmospheric music throughout the day.

Santa will also make stops for photos at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure park, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place Hotel through December 24. (Don’t forget to also look for Santa in the finale of “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” at Disneyland park!)

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will debut charming new looks in Disneyland, reminiscent of writing warm letters to loved ones during the holidays. Take a look at a preview of the outfits some of their pals will sport on Main Street, U.S.A., as seen above! Also keep an eye out on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure and throughout Disneyland for characters making holiday appearances.

From November 22, 2024 through January 1, 2025, the Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail pursuit will debut at Downtown Disney District, where you can search for special ornaments hidden among the holiday trees and shining lights adorning the district.

You’ll be able to purchase an activity map at select shopping locations in Downtown Disney and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort and redeem it for a collectible holiday keepsake at World of Disney or Disney’s Pin Traders

Beginning November 19, “Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays!” will delight guests at Disneyland Hotel and, for the first time, Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party breakfast and brunch at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will serve holiday-themed meals, accompanied by seasonal décor and select characters donning new pajamas.

With new holiday merchandise to shop like the Mickey Mouse Family Christmas, Holiday Red and Snowman collections, you’ll find gifts for everyone on your list (or yourself!). An assortment of merry merchandise will deck the halls at holiday shopping locations like World of Disney, Emporium, Elias & Co. and more.

Disney Replacing Sections of Track for Disneyland Railroad

The Disneyland Railroad is currently undergoing a significant refurbishment to celebrate its 70th anniversary. As part of this project, Disneyland is replacing a section of track, renovating the stations, and refurbishing the trains. The iconic attraction will remain closed during this time.

Construction crews are currently replacing the tracks in the northeast corner of Disneyland as part of a two-month refurbishment project that began in August. The Disneyland Railroad is expected to remain closed until at least November 21. While the park has not announced a reopening date, visitors can observe the construction progress from the Disneyland Monorail.

Construction crews are making steady progress on the Disneyland Railroad refurbishment. They have been replacing the ties, laying new tracks, and ballasting the route. A new section of track has been connected to the backstage roundhouse switch. The Main Street U.S.A. station is currently covered in scaffolding, while the trains are undergoing maintenance in preparation for the reopening.

Guests can begin exploring the new shop on November 13th, while the immersive ride experience will officially debut on November 15th.

As you venture deeper into Bayou Country, you’ll stumble upon Louis’ Critter Club, situated to the left of Pooh Corner. This lively spot is a beloved gathering place for the friends of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, serving as their home away from home. Louis’ Critter Club is the go-to destination for finding a delightful array of apparel, accessories, home decor, and more, all featuring your favorite critters and the captivating Princess Tiana herself!
