Work is set to begin on ‘The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure’ marquee

Although fans will have to wait until 2025 for the debut of The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, exciting progress is already underway. Disney Imagineering recently filed a permit to install a marquee for the all-new show, signaling that work is beginning on the exterior of the former Voyage of the Little Mermaid theater.

The permit lists the installation site as 755 Stage Lane, Bay Lake, FL, just behind the long-closed theater. The project has been assigned to Design Communications Ltd., a company with a long history of working on Disney projects. While no expiration date is listed for the permit, this filing marks an important step in transforming the theater into a home for the new Little Mermaid production.

The original Voyage of the Little Mermaid never reopened following the COVID-19 park closures, leaving the theater vacant for years. However, this reimagined show promises to breathe new life into the space with a blend of classic storytelling and state-of-the-art technology. Earlier this week, Disney announced that the show’s opening would be delayed to summer 2025, giving Imagineers extra time to perfect this ambitious production.

Set to feature live performers, puppets, physical sets, and stunning digital imagery, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is shaping up to be an innovative experience. Get ready for a barbecue feast! The opening date for the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree at Disneyland has been officially confirmed.

Get ready for a fresh look and new menu at the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, formerly known as the Hungry Bear Restaurant. This popular eatery will reopen on October 25th with exciting changes.

Inspired by the Country Bear Musical Jamboree at Magic Kingdom, the restaurant will feature new Country Bears theming and music from all iterations of the show.

The full menu has been revealed, offering delicious dishes inspired by the culinary adventures of the Country Bears during their tour.
