Mr. Stork (played, as in Dumbo, by Sterling Holloway) delivers a lion to a family of sheep. While his mother takes a liking to him, he gets teased by his “brother” lambs. But when Lambert grows up, his kin change their opinion on him.

Disney ups Mickey’s Halloween Party Prices

Disney ups Mickey’s Halloween Party Prices

Sarah Tully at the Orange County Register shares with us some interesting news on the prices for Mickey’s Halloween Party in Disneyland.

The Disneyland Resort has more than doubled prices for its special Halloween trick-0r-treat parties since they started five years ago.

This year, the cost starts at $49 each for advanced tickets on most nights, but tickets can go up to $59 for Oct. 29 and 31 at Disneyland. In 2005, the prices began at $18 when the parties debuted at Disney California Adventure.

Last year, visitors paid as little as $32 for most nights.

Tickets to the general public go on sale Friday (today) for Mickey’s Halloween Party on the Disneyland.com website.

For the parties, all visitors must buy separate tickets to enter the park at night for trick-or-treat parties, which include candy stations, music and character visits. The events often sell out.

Yesterland’s Visit to Disneyland in 1960

Feeding my Classic Disney Need, In honor of Disneyland’s 55th anniversary, Yesterland takes you back to another anniversary year evenly divisible by 5. The year is 1960. The park is 5 years old.

Here is a funny excerpt:

When you think about the future, you probably ask yourself, what will the bathrooms be like? It’s your lucky day! The Crane Company invites you to visit the Bathroom of Tomorrow, also known as the Bathroom of the Future. This is one of those Tomorrowland attractions like Monsanto’s Hall of Chemistry that doesn’t require an attraction coupon.

If you need an actual bathroom, you’ll have to take care of that somewhere else. This is only an exhibit.

Disney Food Confession – Flan de Vainilla

Disney Food Confession - Flan de Vainilla

Where is it? San Angel Inn – Epcot World Showcase, Walt Disneyworld.

What is it? Vanilla custard in syrup, topped with roasted almonds.

Why you want it? I guess I am just a sucker for Flan. Its light and reminds me of jello. The Almonds on top are a nice treat.

What makes Disney’s Aloha Isle so Popular?

What makes Disney's Aloha Isle so Popular?

Upon walking into Adventureland you see the familiar Disney sign above. Aloha Isle Refreshments by Dole. For as long as I remember going to Walt Disney World I loved stopping off here to have a refreshing Dole Whip or Dole Whip Float.

Most people consider this as one of the top eats for their Disney Vacation. No matter how many lists you see from Disney Fans in the boards, or on sites like Disney Food Blog the Dole Whip is always on top for snacks.

What makes this tiny little Ice Cream Counter so popular?

Is it because other than Disney Parks or attempting to make it at home this is the only place you can sample their delicious, delectable, and delightful goodies?

It can’t be, because AJ at Disney Food Blog shared with us Hidden Places in the US that you can sample this treat.

Or maybe its the amount of ice cream choices that is available?

Any Baskin Robbins would dispel that myth.

How bout the location?

While it is close to the center of the park and is a perfect spot to grab a snack for a parade or fireworks, I can think of other places on Main Street USA with better locations.

I am unsure why this little spot in Walt Disney is so popular among the natives. I will tell you one thing I am certain of people love Aloha Isle! No Disneyworld trip would be complete without at least a few snack credits being used at this wonderful Disneyworld shop.

Let us know what you think makes Aloha Isle so popular in the comment section below.

Disney's Sorcerer's Apprentice Video Game Magically Appears on Shelves

Disney Interactive Studios today announced the release of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice video game, inspired by the upcoming feature film “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” from Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films, in theaters July 14, 2010. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice video game is now available in North American retail outlets exclusively for Nintendo DS™.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is an action-packed arcade video game that casts players in the role of Dave, the powerful sorcerer’s apprentice. In a world filled with fantastical quests and magical combat, Dave joins a mystical fight against the ultimate evil.
Players will encounter evil sorcerers who have escaped from their centuries-old prison, the Grimhold, and have taken over New York City. Legendary master sorcerer Balthazar is trapped in the magical realm, so it is up to players to save New York. Guided by Balthazar, players travel throughout New York and the magical realm using special portals in order to defeat the enemy. They must master the elements of sorcery using magical attacks and spells to defeat the six evil sorcerers and their army of minions in order to free Manhattan.

“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice video game allows fans to interact with the magical elements of the film,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “The game provides a fun, challenging experience in which players can take on the role as the sorcerer’s apprentice and use their own hands to cast magical spells and attacks to defeat their enemies.”

The game will also include 30 achievements to unlock, as well as DGamer, Disney Interactive Studios’ innovative technology that provides a fun, connected game community for Disney video game fans.

Is Disney World quieter than usual this summer?

Is Disney World quieter than usual this summer?

Matt Palm at Orlando Sentinel’s Daily Disney answers this popular question about Walt Disney World. I am surprised to hear this, which is probably a sign of the economy. I saw a news report saying that more people are traveling to local destinations instead of trekking to big destinations like Walt Disney World.

I had dinner at Boma in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge last night and was surprised to see the parking lot being improved with a large portion of it  closed off to cars. The improvement work wasn’t surprising — repainting has to happen — but the timing gave me pause.

This is supposed to be the height of the summer season, one of the most prolonged busy streaks for the parks. Yet Disney was able to shut down a healthy portion of a major resort parking lot for days — and, guess what? There was still parking readily available.

There were empty tables throughout the hours my group spent at Boma.
