Soarin' Updates Eiffel Tower and EPCOT World Celebration Ending 3

A Straightened View of the Eiffel Tower

For years, fans have chuckled at the “leaning Eiffel Tower,” a quirky side effect of the screen’s curvature. This update addresses the issue by adjusting the sequence’s perspective. Riders now approach the tower from much farther away, offering a more accurate and upright view of the Parisian landmark. The smoother approach feels more cinematic, ensuring a breathtaking moment for guests soaring over the City of Light.

Soarin' Updates Eiffel Tower and EPCOT World Celebration Ending 2

A Celebration of World Celebration

The final scene, showcasing EPCOT, now reflects the updates to the World Celebration neighborhood. As riders glide toward Spaceship Earth, the former Fountain of Nations and Pin Central have been replaced by the redesigned plaza. The scene features the illuminated EPCOT logo embedded into the ground near a central planter—though, true to life, these lights have not been operational for months.

Tinker Bell continues to sprinkle her pixie dust as fireworks burst into the night sky, forming a familiar Mickey silhouette behind Spaceship Earth. Combined with the ride’s iconic score, the updates are a fitting finale to this global journey.

Enhanced Visuals and Clarity

In addition to these changes, the entire ride film appears sharper and more vibrant, indicating a general upgrade to the projection quality. The clearer visuals make every scene—from the sweeping Swiss Alps to the majestic Iguazu Falls—even more stunning, adding to the attraction’s enduring appeal.

The recent updates bring a fresh perspective to an already beloved attraction. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, Soarin’ continues to leave hearts soaring and dreams of travel alive. Be sure to include this revitalized adventure on your next visit to EPCOT!

The set is decked out for the holidays with a green garland of chimichanga ornaments, a green backdrop, and a Deadpool family portrait. The mantel is adorned with red baubles and candles, and stockings hang for Vanessa, Blind Al, and Peter. A red Christmas tree, decorated with black baubles, a silver star, and unique ornaments, stands above a Wolverine-inspired gift. Deadpool’s signature claw-marked chair and sticker-covered lamp complete the festive scene.

For this special holiday performance, Deadpool is dressed as Santa Claus, sporting a red velvet coat and hat trimmed with white fur. His trusty steed, the unicorn, is also in the holiday spirit, adorned with extra festive bells and reindeer antlers.

santapool

Breaking away from the usual Disney stories, Deadpool takes center stage with a Christmas tale of his own. We saw him retell “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. He plays the character “Santapool” in his version of the story. Deadpool references “Two Guys and A Girl”, the sitcom Ryan Reynolds was on in the late 90’s. He also mentions multiple Marvel characters including Gambit (whose accent he makes fun of).

Other jokes include Deadpool suggesting he should’ve replaced “flew like a flash” with “Quicksilver” due to “IP related reasons” since The Flash is a DC character. After finishing the story, he reminds guests to check out all the shows on Disney+ since story time is sponsored by the streaming service.

The manatee, weighing 855 pounds and measuring nearly 9 feet, was first reported in late October 2024 in North Carolina. Concerns arose as the manatee was observed listing in shallow waters and struggling to maintain its body temperature in the cold water. The rescue team, composed of experts from SeaWorld Orlando and its partner organizations, swiftly responded to the urgent situation.

Manatees, gentle giants often referred to as “sea cows,” are particularly vulnerable to cold stress when water temperatures drop below 68°F. Prolonged exposure to cold can lead to serious health issues, including hypothermia and pneumonia. The manatee, which had been spotted struggling in the cold waters of North Carolina, required immediate intervention to prevent further deterioration.

SeaWorld Orlando’s manatee rehabilitation program is one of the most advanced in the nation. The park’s state-of-the-art facilities, coupled with the expertise of its dedicated staff, provide optimal care for these marine mammals. The rescued manatee will receive specialized treatment, including temperature-controlled pools, nutritional supplements, and medical attention, to aid in its recovery.

This rescue operation underscores SeaWorld’s commitment to marine conservation and animal welfare. The park’s involvement in such initiatives highlights its role as a leader in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
