Disney is always looking for ways to enhance guest experience and safety, and recently, new security procedures were tested at EPCOT’s eastern security plaza. These changes aim to streamline the process and improve overall efficiency while maintaining high security standards.
The most noticeable change is the new organization of guests as they approach the security area. Here’s how the new procedure works:
Guests Using Wheelchairs or Strollers: Directed to the far left, closer to the exit.
All Other Guests: Sent to the far right, closer to the Monorail station.
Previously, all guests entered the same area, with those using wheelchairs or strollers navigating through a separate line within the same general space. This new separation helps to better manage the flow of guests and reduce congestion.
Another significant change is the arrangement of the bag check tables, with the tables now set up diagonally instead of side by side. This new configuration seems to be designed to offer more privacy during the bag check process, as it makes it harder for other guests to see items being inspected.

Disney World Surprises Nonprofits with Half a Million Dollars in Grants!
Seven Florida non-profits got a rootinโ tootinโ good surprise recently! Walt Disney World surprised them with a $500,000 donation during a special performance of the iconic Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. These Disney Grants are awarded each year to recognize organizations that bring happiness and magic to families in the community.
Since Disney World has been in Florida for over 50 years, and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue is celebrating its 50th anniversary, it was the perfect place to spread some extra cheer. The ceremony was filled with excitement, good music, and of course, everyoneโs favorite โ strawberry shortcake!
This yearโs grant recipients are all working hard to make a positive impact on Floridaโs students and families. Hereโs a peek at a few:
Childrenโs Home Society of Florida: They help students prepare for college and navigate the challenges of standardized tests. The grant will support their programs that help students visit colleges, fill out financial aid applications, and participate in STEM summer programs.
Marine Discovery Center: Their mission is to make nature accessible to everyone. The Disney Grant will allow them to bring students from inland counties on educational trips to explore the wonders of the ocean.
Camp Boggy Creek: This camp provides fun and unforgettable experiences for children with serious illnesses. Their grant will help launch an โArts for Allโ program, giving high schoolers with disabilities a chance to explore their creativity in a safe and supportive environment.
โWe are grateful for the positive change these organizations inspire,โ said Rena Langley, a Walt Disney World official. The donation will be used for a variety of purposes, including strengthening Floridaโs workforce, providing educational opportunities, and developing innovative youth programs.

From Tennessee to Disney: Country Star Emily Ann Roberts Becomes Trixie for Country Bears Musical Jamboree
Country music artist Emily Ann Roberts is taking her talents to a whole new stage: Grizzly Hall at Walt Disney World Resort! Roberts, a Knoxville, Tennessee native, has been chasing her musical dreams since childhood, and now she’s lending her voice to the beloved character Trixie in the reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree.
Roberts’ love for music began early, listening to her dad’s favorite artists while riding in her car seat. By the sixth grade, she was already strumming a guitar and performing at a local Mexican restaurant. From there, her passion for singing only grew, leading her to perform everywhere from restaurants and street corners to county fair competitions.
A trip to Walt Disney World in her youth proved to be a turning point. Encouraged by friends, Roberts participated in the “American Idol Experience” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, even winning the competition and receiving a golden ticket to audition for the national show. While she didn’t pursue “American Idol,” she did find success on “The Voice” in 2015, finishing as runner-up and launching a full-time music career.
Emily’s dedication paid off with the release of her EP in 2019 and her debut album, “Can’t Hide Country,” in September 2023. It was during a tour with Blake Shelton that opportunity came knocking again. Disney Imagineers heard Roberts’ voice and knew she’d be perfect for a project โ the reimagining of the Country Bear Musical Jamboree!
The chance to voice Trixie was a perfect fit for the self-described “can’t-hide-country” singer. Recording the song, “Try Everything” from Zootopia, in Nashville was an inspiring experience, especially working with the legendary producer Mac McAnally.
Stepping into Trixie’s shoes for the recording was a new challenge for Roberts, but one she embraced. Meeting her animated counterpart for the first time was an emotional experience. “I felt like I was meeting a long-lost friend!” she says, admitting she even wants a copy of Trixie’s adorable outfit.
The premiere of the Country Bear Musical Jamboree marks the culmination of a dream Roberts never dared to imagine. She hopes Trixie’s song about perseverance will resonate with audiences: “This song was such a special reminder to me to never limit my dreams and to always try everythingโฆeven if I could fail!”
So, get ready for a rootin’ tootin’ good time when the Country Bear Musical Jamboree opens its doors July 17, featuring the voice of Emily Ann Roberts as Trixie!
