Looking for Disney World Christmas Day Church Services?

Disney’s Contemporary Resort will once again be hosting Disney World Christmas Day Church Services in the Fantasia Ballroom.

Catholic services will be held at 8am and 10:15am. Protestant services will be held at 9am.

The Contemporary Resort normally limits parking on Christmas Day to their guests only. If you are not staying at the Contemporary Resort, alternate modes of transportation available include traveling via the bus system or monorail. Be sure to allow extra time if your plans include taking the bus system to the Magic Kingdom to travel via the monorail system. The Magic Kingdom is very popular, especially on Christmas Day, and you will probably have to wait for several buses before you finally catch one.

Disney World Refurbishment Schedule January 2013 and Beyond

Here is this months Refurbishment and Closure Schedule for Walt Disney World for January 2013 and beyond. Refurbishment/closure information is subject to change without notice and should be confirmed just prior to visiting. Updated information is available at the Disney World Website.

Current

Grand Floridian Spa (Grand Floridian Resort) closed through 12/16/12 due to construction at the resort. The Grand Floridian Fitness Center remains open and guests may use The Spa at Saratoga Springs Resort.
Gasparilla Grill and Games (Grand Floridian Resort) closed through 12/17/12. An extended menu will be available at the Beach Pool Bar and pre-packaged food will be available at Mizner’s Lounge.
Typhoon Lagoon closed through 1/5/13 for annual refurbishment.
Ivy Trellis Beauty and Barber Shop (Grand Floridian Resort) closed through mid-February 2013 for refurbishment.
Epcot Character Spot (Epcot) closed through mid-February 2013. A temporary location will be available near the Fountain View Ice Cream shop where you can see Mickey, Minnie and Pluto. Goofy is appearing at Epcot’s main entrance, near Spaceship Earth.
Courtyard Pool (Grand Floridian Resort) closed through February 2013 for refurbishment. A zero-entry slope will be added. The Beach Pool and Slide will remain open.

With yesterday’s anticipated re-release of Disney-Pixar’s hit animated feature, Monsters, Inc., in 3D, Disney Publishing is offering kids and parents a chance to relive the “monstrously” fun story in a new, fully-interactive way! This week, the Monsters, Inc. Storybook Deluxe app is available for the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and even iPad mini – just in time for the holidays!

In the app, kids join Sulley and Mike on their quest to return Boo back to her home, while also trying to keep her out of sight of course. Featuring original character voices and original movie clips, the app allows young readers and monster fans alike to discover hidden “Scare Cards” throughout the story, navigate their way through a Monsters, Incorporated scare simulator training room to collect scream energy in a new game, and even uses kids’ own recorded screaming and roaring abilities to personalize the app!

The Monsters, Inc. Storybook Deluxe app is available now for iOS for $6.99 on the App Store.

Well, my 5 year old is, I am looking forward to the 3D re-release of Monsters, Inc. We also can’t wait to see Monsters 2. So for now we will check out this app and let you know if it will keep the Monsters “at bay”. Look for my review at Chip and Co.

Hey there lads and lassies, it’s me…that’s right the mouse of all your dreams… Anonymouse (ahh you thought Mickey was the best Mouse?). So, I am so excited for 2013 because it seems to me so much fun is coming to Walt Disney World and I want to be right there in the middle of it!

So, I have been hearing rumblings recently of a new restaurant coming to the Morocco Pavilion and similar to what Mexico did with La Hacienda San Angel being a waterside restaurant.

Morocco has plans on opening a new restaurant waterside and supposedly the construction will start in early 2013 so be on the lookout for any signs and report back!

DISNEY DREAM AT SEA

Disney Cruise Lines announced that in addition to the current ports of call in Florida, Jamaica, and Mexico, that the Disney Cruise Lines will now be stopping in Cartagena, Colombia.

Disney Cruise Line’s website is touting Cartagena as a place with “cobblestone streets, historic architecture and vibrant markets” are what makes “this charming South American port city” a great place “to relax and unwind.” The Disney “Wonder” will be the ship that stops in Cartagena. Where do I sign up?!

Disney Junior Live is Making Some Big Changes!

Disney Junior Live is making some big changes coming up in early 2013. As they always do, they are once again updating the characters and stories from the Disney Junior lineup on TV.

So, we can all be excited to visit Disney Junior Live in Hollywood Studios and Disney’s California Adventure in 2013 and see our friends “Doc McStuffins” and “Sofia the First” join “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” and “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.”

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will see the changes first in February 2013 and Disney’s California Adventures will introduce the new additions about a month later.

Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 Disc collection is coming to homes starting March 12, 2013! Can you believe that it was June 21, 1996 when the first movie was originally released in theaters? Wow, do I feel old!

This is the first time that both movies will come out together on Blu-Ray in this 2 disc collection, so you will want to jump at the chance to own this heartwarming story of Quasimodo and Esmeralda that shows the beauty that exists in all of us. Disney’s Short “Paperman” Digital Single Available Today!

Paperman

Walt Disney Records’ single for Paperman is available digitally today. Christophe Beck (“The Muppets,” “The Hangover” Part 1 & 2) composed the uplifting and light-hearted original music for the animated short film. “Paperman” is one of the ten films on the short list being considered for an Academy Award™ nomination.

“I tried to combine some traditional musical colors (like strings and harp) with more modern electronic elements in a way that felt sonically unique, while still evoking romance, longing, and a hint of magic,” said Beck. This was a great way to complement the mixture of old and new techniques in the animation.”

Introducing a groundbreaking technique that seamlessly merges computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques, first-time director John Kahrs takes the art of animation in a bold new direction with “Paperman.” Using a minimalist black-and-white style, the short follows the story of a lonely young man in mid-century New York City, whose destiny takes an unexpected turn after a chance meeting with a beautiful woman on his morning commute. Convinced the girl of his dreams is gone forever, he gets a second chance when he spots her in a skyscraper window across the avenue from his office. With only his heart, imagination and a stack of papers to get her attention, his efforts are no match for what the fates have in store for him. Created by a small, innovative team working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Paperman” pushes the animation medium in an exciting new direction. The short makes its theatrical debut in front of “Wreck-It Ralph” on Nov. 2, 2012.

ABC Family’s Switched at Birth returns with it’s season 2 premiere The Door To Freedom!

Here comes Angelo with his very pricey peace offering! I really don’t know what to think of him at this point honestly. Just when we think he might be trying to be a good guy his pregnant ex comes in and ruins everything. I can honestly say I’m not shocked considering he really hasn’t been a model citizen. We also see Bay in a completely new element which I love we finally see her trying which I think Is a great show of maturity for her.

Right when Bay gets it all on track she’s shot down once again because her grades are too good? Well ok… they accuse her of cheating which could sound like Bay although we find out she did not cheat. Her idea is to bring Angelo to her school to prove that her French is improving because Angelo speaks French and has been teaching her DUH. Meanwhile Daphne still isn’t over Chef Jeff and it really annoys me because she is so hung up on someone who just doesn’t care about her one way or another. Anyways Daphne quickly gets over him after a certain discussion they have. I think Daphne might finally be seeing the light when it comes to Travis which I think we all want to see because he actually does care about her.

Poor Toby always seems to be the first to know about people’s secrets. He acts as a sponge most of the time and when he has to a filter kind of like a wallflower. Moving on Bay finds out about some stuff and doesn’t take it too well. When she confronts Angelo I think my heart almost stopped because that had to be my favorite part of any episode I’ve seen of the show yet. Just the way she said it with so much emotion and what she said is so true and I felt it I truly did. Kudos to the actress who plays Bay Miss Vanessa Marano because that scene will forever go down in history at least for me.
