Buzz About Harrison Ford’s Possible Return as Star Wars’ Han Solo

Han Solo - Harrison Ford

The internet is buzzing about the reports of Harrison Ford reprising his role as galactic smuggler turned good-guy, Han Solo for another trip back to a galaxy far, far away.

A video report from Fox News Latino surfaced today with an interview with Latino-Review.com’s El Mayimbe with word that Ford will indeed play Han Solo in an upcoming Star Wars film. Ford has stated in recent weeks that he is open to the possibility of playing Han again for a future Star Wars movie.

This story has NOT been confirmed by Lucasfilm/Disney but Latino-Report has been able to get scoops that have turned out to be true regarding recent Marvel films so it could be a definite possibility. Of course this could be a set up for a possible Han Solo “solo” adventure film rumored to be in development as well. Could we see Ford opening the film telling tales about his younger self? Could we see Solo in a cameo for Episode VII? Only time will tell.

Check out the interview video for yourself.

Although the 2013 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival officially opens Wednesday, March 6, one new garden has appeared a little early. The Land of Oz Garden is open now and at almost one third of an acre, it’s the largest garden ever created for the festival. The area is based on the new Disney film, “Oz The Great and Powerful,” which stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff, and opens in theaters March 8.

Guests enter The Land of Oz Garden guided by a yellow-brick road and soon find themselves in an interactive children’s play area that features carnival-style games. From here, guests walk past a garden filled with a combination of lush, real flowers and fantastical art-glass poppies. As kids play in and around a giant custom Oz-themed play structure, parents can enjoy shaded, comfy chairs just a few steps away.

Peter Pan: Disney Classics Book App Review

Peter Pan story app

Last week I had the privilege of receiving and reviewing the Peter Pan: Disney Classics book app for the iPad. Before trying the app out myself, I allowed my kids to give it a go. They are 4 and 2 and the story held their attention. They chose the ‘Read to Me’ mode and as the story is read, each word spoken is highlighted.

Each page had a few interactive features that are fun to discover, but nothing overly distracting – such as turning on house lights, or making Tinker Bell fly away. The story of Peter Pan is told in a manner that kids will understand and be able to learn all of the characters. In fact, when you tap on a character their name is spoken.

There are some fun games included with this app – including puzzles. There are 4 puzzles to choose from, and 3 skill levels – easy, medium, or hard – depending on your child’s preference.

Disney is Sharing the Magic

magic

As a company with more than 66,000 Disney Cast Members who live and work in Central Florida, Walt Disney World Resort is committed to investing in its local community. Disney is focused on improving the quality of life in Central Florida, with a special interest in helping children and families.

Disney contributes to the local community in many ways – through the millions of dollars in taxes it generates for local governments, the leadership it provides on important community issues, the cash and in-kind support it provides local non-profit organizations and the thousands of volunteer hours given by Cast Members.

Economic Impact

A study by Arduin, Laffer & Moore Econometrics released in April 2011 shows the magic Disney makes for Guests at its parks and resorts and on its cruise ships translates into a strong economic impact not only in Central Florida but across the state.

  • The $18.2 billion in annual economic activity generated locally by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts accounts for 2.5 percent of Florida’s gross domestic product.
  • Of the 7.2 million Floridians in the workforce in 2009, more than one out of every 50 had a job that can be directly or indirectly tied to the operations of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Locally, 6 percent of all jobs in Central Florida can be attributed to Disney’s operations.
  • In Central Florida, Cast Members at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts earned a total of nearly $1.8 billion during FY2009. Across Florida, when direct and indirect jobs are taken into account, more than $6 billion in paychecks can be attributed directly or indirectly to Disney’s operations.

Top 10 Things I’ve Learned From Disney Movies

bbb

I am proud to say that I was raised on Disney movies. I remember learning to work my living room VCR and how to pop in a Disney VHS before learning to tie my shoes. Let’s face it, Disney movies really do make great babysitters, don’t they? Anyway, the point is that Disney was a big part of my childhood and therefore taught me a lot! Like what, you might ask? Keep reading!

10. Stars are better than your iPhone-Need help? Ask Evangeline. Need to know how to get to Neverland? Follow the second star to the right and straight on til morning. Want to call your parents? Mufasa can be reached via star, which, with all the clouds and thunder, puts Skype to shame. Need something? Wish upon a star. Simply put, you won’t need aps, Google, or a GPS with this kind of celestial service.

9. Woodland creatures are better than any maid service out there-The lesson here is to be kind to animals, particularly mice, birds, squirrels, owls, and the like because they will clean your house, sew you a dress, or even set you up with a prince while you’re walking in the forest.

8. There are exceptions to the laws of gravity-Carpets from the Cave of Wonders, elephants, and British nannies are exempt to Newton’s discovery.
