Top 5 Cold Treats at Disney World

In my family, any time is a good time to eat ice cream. Maybe you fall into that same school of thought? If so, this is the post for you! Today we are talking the best of the best when it comes to cold treats at Disney World. This list will cover a few of my favorite ice cream treats as well as a few other frozen specialties. I’m hungry just writing that. Let’s get to it!

1. Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar

When I’m at Disney World, the first thing I do is find a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar. Okay, so maybe this top 5 cold treats at Disney World post is starting out a bit biased. I can’t help it. The lush vanilla ice cream encased in that delicious chocolate. I am obsessed. And you know what, no matter how hard I’ve tried to replicate that deliciousness outside of the parks, I just can’t. No bar touches that iconic set of ears.

This epic adventure comes to life with vibrant picture and sound and includes an impressive variety of never-before-seen bonus material including “The Magic of ‘Oz The Great and Powerful’ Second Screen Feature,” James Franco’s personal story of his journey to the land of Oz produced and directed by Franco himself, Mila Kunis’ makeup metamorphosis and much more!

Oz The Great and Powerful is an amazing story about courage and the truth. Oscar or Oz is a magician down on his luck who isn’t necessarily the most truthful man. In the beginning we meet his assistant who he ironically compares to a trained monkey a woman Oz truly loves and a little girl in a wheelchair with hopes of walking someday. The color on this movie was amazing and breathtaking. Costumes were so detailed and really popped out of the screen with their vividness. The makeup transformations were amazing from Theodora to a Wicked Witch was my favorite and is also an amazing bonus feature you should check out when you grab this DVD!

Review: “Atlantis: The Lost Empire” and “Atlantis: Milo’s Return”

The animated action-adventure film “Atlantis: The Lost Empire” and its sequel “Atlantis: Milo’s Return” arrive on Blu-ray next Tuesday, June 11. Luckily, I got my hands on this Blu-ray combo for review. I enjoyed this film as a kid (which was actually aimed more at boys than girls) but had never seen the sequel, as with most of the direct-to-video sequels. I was excited to reminisce and re-watch “Atlantis: The Lost Empire” and curious to see what “Milo’s Return” was all about. I was pleased and disappointed all at the same time.

Just in case you aren’t too sure what these films are about, here’s a brief overview:

“The Lost Empire” tells the tale of Milo Thatch and his desire to locate the fabled lost civilization of Atlantis, which he believes is located off the coast of Iceland. He joins a crew that is also set on finding the ruins of this ancient, but advanced, city. The crew discovers the mythical Atlantis, but all is not what it seems. It’s Milo’s mission to help this dwindling civilization and protect it from destructive outside forces. In “Milo’s Return”, Thatch returns to the surface and is reunited with some old friends. Some strange things have been happening, all of which have an Atlantean tie, and they have asked for Milo’s help to discover the reasons.

Downtown Disney Revs Up for Car Masters Weekend

Car Masters Weekend, now in its third year, is the perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day as Downtown Disney West Side hosts a classic car show with a modern twist June 15-16, 2013. Featuring all things “Cars,” the event also showcases meet and greets with Disney•Pixar “Cars” and “Cars 2″ characters, a sock hop at Splitsville, select discounts on food and shopping, and more exciting entertainment for the whole family.

In a race for ‘Best in Show’ at Sunday’s awards ceremony, car enthusiasts from the local Muscle Car Network of Central Florida will display more than 150 classic, muscle and exotic cars for families to view and vote on their favorites. Guests also can take pictures with favorite Disney•Pixar “Cars” and “Cars 2″ characters Lightning McQueen, Mater and Finn McMissile.

‘The Lone Ranger’ Headed to Disney Infinity

Disney Infinity is moving full steam ahead, and Disney Interactive is making sure that fans that have been waiting for the game will think the wait is worth it. So with that in mind, Disney Interactive has announced it’s newest expansion pack that will be available on August 18, 2013, the day the game launches. Players will be excited to learn that they’re going to be able to jump into the world of The Lone Ranger and Tonto, Disney’s newest adventure film that will land on July 3, 2013. The games will give you a chance to explore the wild side of the Old West as two of American legends, or infiltrate and interact inside with other Disney characters and worlds. Top 5 Milkshakes at Walt Disney World

Ice cream and Disney World just seem to go together don’t they? To me, a Disney vacation isn’t complete until I have had a Mickey bar; eaten ears first of course! Ice cream treats can be a delicious way to beat the heat during the summer months. One of my favorite ice cream treats at Disney are the amazing milkshakes that are available at the parks and the resorts. After dedicating myself to researching the tastiness available, I have come up with my Top 5 milkshakes at Disney World. (Okay, it wasn’t exactly a rough job tasting milkshakes but somebody had to do it!

Cookies & Cream- Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, Hollywood Studios: The reviews about the food here are sometimes mixed. Some guests love it, others find it less impressive. One thing that everyone can agree on though is how delicious the cookies and cream milkshake tastes! Classic chocolate and vanilla are also available but the cookies and cream has been a long-time Disney fan favorite for good reason. The creamy vanilla and chocolaty taste and Oreo crumbles on top were delicious! We really loved our dinner here and this milkshake was a perfect ending.
