Well, it’s getting to be that time of year again when everyone is starting to think about their 2014 Disney World vacation. As of now, only rooms are available for 2014. However, I know many of you are anxiously awaiting to hear when Disney will announce 2014 Disney World packages. We’re all waiting to learn if (or most likely, how much) the cost has increased.

We may be getting closer to the 2014 Disney World packages announcement though! Although Disney has not released park hours into January, they have added 2014 months to their calenders. The next year’s packages have always been announced sometime in the summer, with 2013’s coming out July 11, 2012. The year before though got the news a month earlier than that, June 12, 2011.

Disney already announced their increased ticket prices earlier this month. If you missed it, you can read the full article here.

Disney Enlists Grammy®-Nominated Recording Artist Carly Rae Jepsen to Celebrate The Release Of “The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition” With A New Version Of The Beloved Song “Part Of Your World”

This October 1, The Walt Disney Studios animated classic The Little Mermaid becomes a part of our world like never before as an all-new Diamond Edition release.  To celebrate the return of the movie that gave voice to a whole generation, Disney has teamed up with the voice of a new generation, Grammy®-nominated music superstar Carly Rae Jepsen, to record a new version of The Little Mermaid’s beloved song “Part of Your World,” which will appear as a music video on the upcoming Diamond Edition Blu-ray™ Combo Pack releases.

Canadian singer/songwriter and breakout pop sensation, Carly Rae Jepsen burst onto the scene with her Top Ten U.S. debut album Kiss and its global smash hit “Call Me Maybe,” which held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine consecutive weeks and climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in more than 47 countries, while her music videos have amassed over 600 million VEVO views.  Jepsen won the 2012 American Music Award for Best New Artist and received two 2012 GRAMMY Award nominations for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year.  Her new single, “Tonight I’m Getting Over You,” The Remix ft. Nicki Minaj from her Top Ten debut album Kiss is out now.  Ms. Jepsen is set to dazzle our world again with an exciting new rendition of the classic ballad “Part of Your World.”

“Part of Your World” was written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman and originally recorded for the movie by American actress and singer Jodi Benson, who gave voice to Disney’s favorite underwater princess, Ariel. The song is a Broadway-style ballad in which young heroine Ariel expresses her desire to be a part of the human world.

In addition to the new music video “Part of Your World” featuring Ms. Jepsen, The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack includes a cavern of other wondrous bonus feature treasures. Viewers can experience the film in high definition Blu-ray 3D™, Blu-ray and High Definition Digital platforms.

To stay informed on “The Little Mermaid” and Disney’s exciting collaboration with Carly Rae Jepsen, please continue to visit us at www.Disney.com/TheLittleMermaid.

Synopsis:

Ariel (voiced by Jodi Benson), is a free-spirited mermaid, who is off on the adventure of a lifetime with her best friend, the adorable Flounder (voiced by Jason Marin), and the reggae-singing Caribbean crab Sebastian (voiced by Samuel E. Wright) at her side. But it will take all of her courage and determination to make her dreams come true—and save her father’s beloved kingdom from the sneaky sea witch Ursula (voiced by Pat Carroll).

Bonus Features:

All-New Music Video @ Disney Animation, Disney Intermission,  Deleted Character, The Real Little Mermaid: Live Action Reference Model, Part of Her World: Jodi Benson’s Voyage To New Fantasyland, Howard’s Lecture, and Classic DVD Bonus Features.

The Little Mermaid’s “Part of Your World” is an iconic Disney song and one of my personal favorites! It will be fun to hear a new, youthful twist on this classic, as well as experience the film’s beautiful animation all over again in high definition. I’m also really excited to check out the Diamond Edition’s Bonus Features, particularly Jodi Benson’s Voyage To New Fantasyland. October 1st can’t come soon enough until I can add The Little Mermaid to my collection in a whole new way!

Are you excited for The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition? How about Carly Rae Jepsen’s version of “Part of Your World”? Let me know!

The Main Street Bakery is now open in the Magic Kingdom. As you can see Starbucks does have a very large presence here. With tons of classic favorites along with many new options I think Disney did a great job bringing them on board.

Top 10 Ways to Get Ready for a Disney World Vacation

Do you countdown the days until your Disney World Vacation? Do you have any special traditions or ways to get ready for your trip? I don’t know about you, but preparing for my Disney Vacation is half the fun! Here are a few of my Top 10 Ways to Get Ready!

10. Disney Movie Marathon-What better way to get in the Disney mood than to revisit a few magical classics? It’s also great to reacquaint your kids with a few characters they might meet during your trip!

9. Train-Disney guests typically walk between five to ten miles every day of their vacation! But don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it sounds because you’re always waking from one magical experience to the next. However, to keep up your stamina and make conditions a little easier on your legs and feet, I suggest you train before your trip. How? Make it a priority to walk a little bit each day. I know, I know…this doesn’t exactly sound like fun; but you will appreciate it later! Plus, isn’t working out a little easier when you know that it’s all for Disney World?

8. Make a Photo List-Disney World is the ultimate place to take photos that you will treasure for years to come. Therefore, to get ready, make yourself a list of places where you want to get photos of you and the family! The standards photos of the park icons and the kids in Mouse Ears are a must; but try to be creative! How about a picture of each kid in front of their favorite attraction, enjoying a dessert, asleep on the Monorail, or their expressions when watching the fireworks?

7. Develop a Packing Strategy-The better you pack, the easier vacation life will be; and striking a balance between packing light and for those possible emergency situations requires strategy! It also helps you not wait until the last minute!

6. Watch the Free Disney Parks Planning DVDs-At DisneyWorld.com, you can order free vacation planning DVDs, which are very helpful when planning your trip! However, for those of us who know Walt Disney World better than our own hometowns, these DVDs are a little glimpse of “home” and can really help you get psyched for upcoming vacation. Find out how to get one of your own here!

5. Make Some Pre-Park Purchases-There are a few things that are a “must” for me to have on a Disney Vacation, such as really comfortable shoes, a lightweight bag, and sunglasses. These three things make your days at the park a whole lot easier and more comfortable. But when it comes to souvenirs, there are a few things you may want to get before you go. For example, almost every little girl you see at WDW is wearing a Disney Princess dress at one time or another; and the odds are that your own little princess will want one too, especially now that Disney offers the popular Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. If that’s the case, I would suggest purchasing her a princess dress beforehand as the prices at Wal-Mart, Target, other toy stores, and even online are usually cheaper. It may be smart to pick up a few Disney toys to pacify the kids when they are begging for stuffed Disney plush toys or light-up items for parades before you go too.

4. Purchase Disney Gift Cards-Do you have a souvenir fund? Exchange your souvenir cash for Disney Gift Cards! At stores such as Target, Kroger, and Sam’s Club, you can purchase special Disney Gift Cards that can be used at the parks and resorts. The best part is that a $50 dollar gift card will only cost you $48 at most locations; and Kroger benefits will help you save on gas, giving you more money for your fund. While these savings are small, they can really add up! Plus, if you have any Wal-Mart gift cards laying around from Christmas or birthdays, you can use those cards at Sam’s Club saving you even more. This is a great way to make a little extra, as well as help you budget for your vacation.

3. Build Up Your Disney Fund-Want a little extra cash for your vacation fund? Have a yard sale, help the kids make a lemonade stand, coupon, cash in all that saved up change, and more! It’s fun to see how much you can generate toward your fund before you go, and it’s also going to make vacationing a lot easier on your wallet.

2. Make a Countdown Calendar-To help pass the time for you and the kids, make a countdown calendar! Many Disney fans make theirs out of paper chains and tear off a link each day until there’s none left; but get creative and make one your own! Get the kids involved and let them add some Disney stickers or their own touches. This way you can make a Disney memory before you even leave home! Find out how to make a special countdown craft here!

1. Make a Plan-Now I must say that I’m not a big fan of schedules. While I like to be up and going all day long, I think schedules are pretty much impossible to keep at WDW and tend to prevent guests from enjoying the little moments and details,  leaving them hot, tired, and exhausted. On the other hand,  I also believe that you need to have somewhat of a plan when you visit because Disney World is called just that for a reason. So before you go, I suggest making a plan for each day or a list of things you want to see and do, along with your ADRs; and let the rest of the day take care of itself! Tip: Check the extended weather forecast to help you plan; and remember that afternoon showers in Florida are very common but usually don’t last long!

How do you prepare for your Disney World Vacation? Do you have any tips to share?

Fireworks, Patriotic Parades and More Anchor Independence Week

Disneyland Resort guests won’t have to wait until the Fourth of July to celebrate America’s birthday. They can choose any day of Independence Week July 1-7 in the parks to experience the flag-waving spirit of the holiday – all part of Limited Time Magic.

It’s a red, white and blue extravaganza as Disney Parks honor America with a Fourth of July celebration like never before.

Each week throughout 2013, Limited Time Magic treats Disney Parks guests to magical, memory-filled experiences – big and small – ranging from park-wide events to special culinary treats to special moments of surprise and delight. All are offered for a limited time. Guests can visit http://www.limitedtimemagic.com for detailed entertainment offerings during Independence Week.

As part of the special week, a fireworks spectacular rockets into the air every night above Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park with “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” In this patriotic fireworks spectacular, dazzling comets and glittering bursts soar to a brand new musical score produced in a concert band style created to stir a sense of pride in being American, while at the same time, inviting guests from around the world to feel part of the celebration.

“Celebrate America!” pays homage to all Americans and all who love the best of America. The fireworks show takes place at 9:30 p.m. each night at Disneyland.

Also at Disneyland Resort, Mickey Mouse greets guests in star-spangled, patriotic attire every evening in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A.  Illuminated Mouse Ears will “Glow with the Show” during performances of both “Celebrate America!” at Disneyland and the patriotic pre-show to “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure Park.

At Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, chefs whip up tasty treats inspired by Americana including these at Disneyland: red, white and blue mason jar desserts at Carnation Café’and patriotic cotton candy, apple pie pockets and Fourth of July cupcakes, in shops all along Main Street, U.S.A.  At Walt Disney World, guests will enjoy red, white and blue strawberry shortcake in the Magic Kingdom and apple pie-filled cupcakes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom or Downtown Disney.

The flag-waving week continues on both coasts with themed souvenirs such as USA shirts, trading pins, light-up star necklaces and patriotic Duffy costumes. Disney PhotoPass Service, enabling guests to view all their photos as part of Limited Time Magic, joins in the patriotic fun. Guests at Magic Kingdom park and Disneyland park will be able to purchase a special Independence Week Disney border so they can frame up their photos in the spirit of the holiday. Anonymouse

Hello ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! It’s your favorite Disney gossip queen, Anonymouse here to share some exciting news with you that I think you will all love! As reported many months ago by me the rumor mill is going again about Star Wars Land & Carsland coming to Disney World. My insider sources at Disney are telling me that Cars Land and Star Wars Land are coming to Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

As most of you know, Cars Land was added to Disney’s California Adventure park last year and now there are plans to bring the infamous Radiator Springs to Disney World next! Cars Land will most likely replace the Lights Motors Action show at the back of the park. This also happens to be conveniently located near the current Pixar Place.

However, Disney is not planning to stop here. They will also be adding Star Wars Land to Hollywood Studios. Star Wars Land will be built around the newly renovated Star Tours attraction. Although I’ve not heard what attractions will be replaced to make room for Star Wars Land, I’m hearing the Muppets theater and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area may be a top choice.

My friends are telling me that this will not be a quick project and will not be completed until 2018!

What do you think if Cars Land and Star Wars Land are coming to Hollywood Studios? What attractions would you like to see updated or added?

Any who, that is all the Disney Gossip I have right now. For my past Gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors? Please email me at [email protected] or on my Facebook Page..

Six-year-old girl is headed to Disney Thanks to Make-a-wish

A six-year-old girl is headed to Disney thanks to Make-a-wish foundation. The Dummar family is going to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida in honor of their six-year-old daughter thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Four years ago, the Dummar’s daughter, Destiny, received a liver transplant. Then, she was diagnosed with cancer lymphoma last year.

“She’s doing great now, everything has been real good,” says Chris Dummar, Destiny’s father.

Her father explained that her recovery is a blessing. Now, their bags are packed, and as a family, they’re headed to Disney World.

“The family has been really looking forward to this trip because it will take a lot of pressure of all of the treatments that she’s had to go through,” says Cynthia Freeman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Destiny’s wish took approximately six months to plan. The Dummar family’s vacation began with getting dropped off at the airport in a limo. Destiny said that the ride in the limo was “amazing.” The 6-year-old also said that she is looking forward to meeting all the princesses the most.

“This is really a trip of a lifetime,” said Chris Dummar.

Do you know someone that has had the opportunity to go to Disney World thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation?
