Pixar’s Parr House from The Incredibles to Become Reality at Disney’s Cotino Community
Disney fans and architecture enthusiasts alike can rejoice as the iconic Parr House from Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” is set to become a real-life architectural marvel at Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community. Scheduled to open in 2025, this two-story house will serve as a central hub for members of the community’s voluntary Artisan Club.
The Parr House will offer a multi-functional space where club members can come together for events, celebrate special occasions, and even enjoy an occasional overnight stay. The Artisan Club itself will be a vibrant gathering place for members and their guests, featuring a variety of spaces dedicated to dining, creative pursuits, fitness, water recreation, and unique Disney-curated programs and experiences.
Located in the picturesque Palm Springs area, renowned for its mid-century modern architecture, the Parr House’s construction represents a full-circle moment. Pixar artists drew inspiration from the region’s architectural style when designing the Parr family’s home in “Incredibles 2,” and now a real-life home inspired by the film will stand in the very same location.
This exciting development offers a glimpse into the unique and immersive experiences Disney is creating for its Storyliving communities. With the Parr House as its centerpiece, Cotino promises to be a place where Disney magic and everyday living blend seamlessly, creating a truly extraordinary community for residents and visitors alike.
Mid-Century Modern Design: Honoring a Local Legacy
When it came time to start designing the Parr House, Disney Imagineers and Pixar artists collaborated to bring the spirit of the film to life with a creative interpretation of the mid-century modern design the Palm Springs area is known for.

To bring the home’s inspiration out of the animated “Incredibles” universe and into the real world, Imagineers will use a rich mix of textures and colors. The home’s interior will incorporate the hallmarks of mid-century modern design, clean lines, natural light, and functional furniture while adding artistic flair to the finishes, artwork, and décor.
From a primary bedroom fit for Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl to the family kitchen and open living room, it will be an extraordinary home we know Edna Mode would just love, dah-ling!
Memorable Moments: Recalling Favorite Film Details
Looking at the renderings, you may even recognize a few familiar details sprinkled throughout the space…
Since the Parr House is inspired by our favorite super family, Imagineers are planning to add in a few special film props like boxes of Sugar Bombs and Fiber O’s cereal stacked on the kitchen shelf and the family’s schedule scribbled on the Insuricare calendar. Can you spot them in the rendering below?

It’s all about the details as Imagineers have poured over original concept art from the film to find special details and unique decorative items to bring this home to life.
Even the design color palette is reflective of the film’s iconic characters and settings. In communal areas like the living room and kitchen, tones of red, black, and yellow will pay homage to the family’s iconic super suits while upstairs, each of the bedrooms will reflect the style of “Incredibles” characters including Edna Mode, Lucius Best aka “Frozone” and the Parr kids Jack-Jack, Violet and Dash.
The first-floor art studio will celebrate the Cotino community’s overall theme as a creative oasis – a place to relax, retreat, and explore new ambitions. The idea was inspired by Walt Disney himself, who retreated to his family home in the Palm Springs area to rest and creatively recharge.
From Screen to Street: How the Parr House is Being Built
How did this superhero home go from animation to active construction project? Imagineers enlisted the help of Cotino community homebuilder Davidson Communities to help build the Parr House.
Leadership from Davidson Communities, Storyliving by Disney and Walt Disney Imagineering gathered to celebrate the start of construction on the Parr House. Artist concept rendering, not yet constructed and subject to change.
Together, the design teams plan to adapt some of the home’s iconic features, like the floor-to-ceiling windows and climbing rock work in the living room, to the real world.
The home’s expansive windows will provide unmatched views of Cotino Bay, the jewel of the community that will feature the clearest turquoise waters with Crystal Lagoons technology.
Because the home’s exterior will be so recognizable, Imagineers wanted the interior view of the outside to be equally impressive. Beyond the beautiful windows, an elevated patio will offer a picturesque place for outdoor events with spectacular water and mountain views.
Currently under construction, this incredible Artisan Club amenity is expected to open in 2025.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom just got a whole lot cuter with the arrival of a second set of critically endangered cotton-top tamarin triplets this year! These pint-sized primates made their debut on Discovery Island, and park officials couldn’t be more excited. With their distinctive white tufts of hair and lively personalities, these tamarins are sure to capture the hearts of Disney guests.
Weighing just a single pound in adulthood, these tiny tamarins pack a big punch when it comes to athleticism, able to leap up to 15 feet from a standing position! It’s a superpower worthy of any Disney hero. The tamarin triplets are busy bonding with their family, and their parents—who share parenting duties—can be seen carrying their babies on their backs until they’re about 14 weeks old. Talk about teamwork!
With only about 6,000 cotton-top tamarins left in the wild, every new birth is something to celebrate. So next time you’re exploring Animal Kingdom, make sure to stop by Discovery Island to see these adorable monkeys in action—you might even catch them in one of their 15-foot flying leaps!
Disney Shatters Records with Historic 60 Emmy Wins
The Walt Disney Company has achieved a remarkable feat, securing an unprecedented 60 wins at the 76th Emmy® Awards. This record-breaking achievement spans across their vast array of content brands, studios, and platforms, including ABC, Disney Branded Television, Disney+, Disney Television Studios, FX, Hulu, National Geographic, and The Walt Disney Studios.
FX led the charge for Disney, amassing a total of 36 awards, the highest for any of the company’s brands or studios and a new record for FX itself. The historical drama series “Shōgun” claimed an impressive 19 awards, setting a Television Academy record for most wins by a series in a single year. Meanwhile, the acclaimed comedy “The Bear” also broke its own record for a comedy series, securing 11 awards.
The celebrations extended to individual achievements as well. Anna Sawai made history as the first Asian descent actor to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in “Shōgun.” Liza Colón-Zayas also achieved a milestone, becoming the first Latina to win Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in “The Bear.”
Disney’s streaming platforms collectively garnered 59 wins, with Hulu accounting for 50 and Disney+ securing nine.
The Walt Disney Studios also contributed to the victory, with four wins for “Quiz Lady” and “The Beach Boys” from 20th Century Studios, as well as “Ahsoka” from Lucasfilm Ltd. and “What If…? An Immersive Story” from Marvel Studios.

One Man’s Dream Replaces Song of the South with Mr. Toad
The “Song of the South” reference, which had been prominently displayed on a wall display in Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, has been removed. The image has been replaces with one of Mr. Toad.
During a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we noticed that a “Song of the South” reference on a wall display in Walt Disney Presents had been removed. The display now focuses on the 1943 section, showcasing the “Art of Animation.” While the written content remains unchanged, the visuals have been updated to include Mr. Toad and Angus MacBadger from “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad,” a film released in 1949.
The characters Br’er Fox, Uncle Remus, Br’er Bear, the kids, and Br’er Rabbit were previously featured in the display. The display changed seemingly overnight.
Disney has been removing references to the film “Song of the South” and the Splash Mountain ride from Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort. The Splash Mountain at Disneyland is currently being reimagined into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The Walt Disney World version opened on June 28, 2024, with a new story and characters inspired by the movie “The Princess and the Frog.”
Woody’s Lunch Box Alternate Seating Area Near Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
The closure of Woody’s Lunch Box seating area has significantly impacted the dining experience in Toy Story Land. While the restaurant itself remains open, the lack of a designated seating area has forced guests to find alternative spots to enjoy their meals.
Extended seating is available just past Alien Swirling Saucers in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The entire seating area at Woody’s Lunch Box has been removed, leaving a bare dirt space. It’s possible that the area will be rebuilt, but it’s uncertain whether there will be more seating or if it will be covered.
Walt Disney World has remained silent about the project, but we hope to see progress on a themed, covered seating area in the near future.

Get ready for a heartwarming holiday experience at Tokyo Disney Resort! The Country Bears are back with their festive “Jingle Bell Jamboree” seasonal overlay in the Country Bear Theater. Starting November 8, 2024, and running through January 13, 2025, this fun-filled revue features the Country Bear Band performing a selection of cheerful winter songs to celebrate the Christmas season.
The Country Bear Theater at Tokyo Disneyland is a beloved attraction inspired by the original 1971 Country Bear Jamboree at Walt Disney World. While the U.S. park’s version recently reopened as the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, Tokyo Disneyland has its own unique holiday tradition: the Jingle Bell Jamboree.
Originally introduced in 1984 as “The Country Bear Christmas Special,” the Jingle Bell Jamboree debuted at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. However, Tokyo Disneyland has continued to present this seasonal overlay, even after it was retired in the U.S. parks in 2000.
While the overlay was temporarily discontinued in 2019, its return has been eagerly anticipated by Tokyo Disneyland fans. With the latest announcement, visitors can once again enjoy the festive spirit of the Country Bears during the upcoming holiday season.
Following the successful return of the Country Bear Vacation Jamboree in May, the Country Bear Theater at Tokyo Disneyland is now fully back to its pre-pandemic state. Guests can enjoy the festive Jingle Bell Jamboree seasonal overlay, which features the Country Bears performing cheerful winter songs.
