Scanning into the Universal Orlando Theme Parks just got a whole lot faster thanks to Photo Validation, which now includes ticketless (re)entry!
Universal Orlando Resort is rolling out a new way to streamline your visit with the introduction of Photo Validation, currently in technical rehearsal at select attractions in Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. Designed to make entering the parks and accessing Universal Express Pass benefits even easier, this innovative system lets you scan, smile, and go—eliminating the need to scan your physical pass at certain rides and, for a limited time, to re-enter the parks after your first entry.
What Is Photo Validation? Photo Validation is an optional feature that creates a photo template linked to your ticket, allowing the system to verify your identity quickly. Upon arrival at the park entrance, guests can enroll in just three steps: scan your ticket, smile for the system to create your Photo Template, and head straight to the fun. The best part? If you have a Universal Express Pass, Photo Validation lets you enjoy Effortless Entry at select attractions, bypassing regular lines without needing to scan your physical pass AND if you have multi-day or Park to Park tickets, you may be able to re-enter a park without having to scan your ticket again!
Who Can Use It? This new system is available to all guests, including those staying at Universal Orlando Resort hotels with Universal Express Unlimited Passes and Premier Annual Passholders using their after-4:00 PM Universal Express Pass benefits. Simply link your ticket or hotel room key to your Universal Account for seamless entry at eligible attractions.
What If I Don’t Want to Use Photo Validation? Participation in Photo Validation is entirely optional. Guests who prefer not to enroll can continue to use their physical Universal Express Pass and ticket as usual. Opting out is easy—just let a Team Member know at the park entrance or Guest Services, or in Universal Express lines at participating attractions. Those who opt out may need to present a valid photo ID along with their pass for verification.
Where Is It Being Tested? During the technical rehearsal period, Photo Validation is available at select attractions and entrances at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. However, it is not currently being tested at Volcano Bay.
What’s Next? As Universal refines this system, Photo Validation has the potential to simplify park navigation and reduce wait times even further. Whether you’re a day guest or a Premier Annual Passholder, this new technology is designed to maximize convenience and minimize hassle.

Constellation Carousel Shines Bright in New Nighttime Aerial Photos
Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s highly anticipated new theme park, is just four months away from opening, and thanks to X user @bioreconstruct, we now have an incredible nighttime aerial view of the stunning Constellation Carousel. This imaginative attraction, located in the heart of the Celestial Park area, promises a cosmic experience like no other.
The Constellation Carousel invites guests to ride the constellations themselves, with beautifully designed carriages shaped like celestial lions, dragons, peacocks, and more. Adding to the magic, each carriage rotates 360 degrees while lifting riders up to six feet into the air. Paired with dazzling lights, celestial music, and an atmosphere straight out of the stars, this carousel promises to whisk riders across the Milky Way in a sensory-filled adventure.
The photos reveal the carousel beautifully illuminated at night, showcasing Universal’s incredible attention to detail in bringing this cosmic vision to life. Nearby, Super Nintendo World also glows in the night sky, with both areas appearing nearly ready to welcome guests. These nighttime views offer an exciting sneak peek at what’s to come, heightening the anticipation for Epic Universe’s grand opening.

A missing elephant has found its way home at Magic Kingdom’s iconic Jungle Cruise
After nearly a year, the missing African elephant animatronic has returned to Magic Kingdom’s Jungle Cruise! The elephant, located in the African river section between the trashed camp and the lions with the “napping” zebra, had been absent since late 2023. Though its trumpeting sound effect remained, the right-side animatronic was missing, leaving an empty spot alongside its counterpart.
The refreshed elephant now stands proudly in its original position, sporting a bright coat of paint and a smoothly moving trunk. Its return follows a series of Jungle Cruise refurbishments, including updates to rockwork and faded scene elements during a two-month closure in late 2024.
As one of Magic Kingdom’s opening day attractions, Jungle Cruise continues to deliver laughs and nostalgia, guided by live Skippers through rivers teeming with adventure. Next time you set sail, be sure to say hello to the beautifully restored pachyderm!

Construction is continuing full-steam-ahead on Test Track 3.0 at EPCOT
During a recent visit to EPCOT, we took a peek at the ongoing construction for Test Track, which has been closed since June 17 for a complete re-imagining. While the interior remains a mystery for now, other than the recent sneak peek we saw via an Instagam post by Walt Disney Imagineering, the exterior is abuzz with activity, giving us a glimpse into the progress being made on this iconic attraction.
The most noticeable changes are happening outside, where an extensive scaffolding system has been set up. The previous canopy has been entirely removed, making way for a new structure to take its place. This canopy, along with a refreshed exterior sign, will give Test Track a whole new look. It’s clear Disney is making significant strides in revamping the ride’s exterior to match its re-imagined concept.
As announced during D23, the new Test Track will draw inspiration from EPCOT’s original World of Motion attraction, blending nostalgic elements with modern thrills. Disney will continue its partnership with Chevrolet to bring the third iteration of this fan-favorite attraction to life. While details about what awaits inside are still under wraps, this re-imagining promises to honor EPCOT’s past while delivering a fresh experience for fans of the ride.

To enhance the guest experience, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is embarking on a room refurbishment project that will include both standard rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas.
To further elevate the guest experience, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is embarking on a room refresh. This project will encompass all guest rooms, including Disney Vacation Club Villas. The update will retain the beloved Arts & Crafts aesthetic while introducing bold new colors through refreshed carpets, upholstery, and bedding.
The soft goods will incorporate accents inspired by the vibrant California wildflowers depicted in the Impressionistic plein air paintings that were so influential during the Arts & Crafts era. To further enhance the artistic experience, each room will feature original artwork commissioned from local plein air painters.
Further enhancing the guest experience, Disney’s Grand Californian will also remodel Napa Rose Restaurant and add a second club-level lounge to complement the existing room refurbishments.
