Room Updates Coming Soon to Pop Century Resort

Refurbishment is fairly common at Walt Disney World and Disney’s Pop Century Resort is next on the list! Disney’s Pop Century Resort is set for a significant refurbishment, according to a recently issued permit. This extended project could include updates to guest rooms, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort’s room refurbishment is expected to last longer than initially announced. While the official timeline is from late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, recently filed permits suggest construction may continue until August 2026. This may indicate a longer project timeline or a buffer for potential delays.

Permits for general construction in buildings 2 and 3, encompassing the 1950s area of the resort, also expire on August 28, 2026.

Construction on Everything Pop at Disney’s Pop Century Resort has been ongoing since last year. The hotel remains operational, but guests may experience some daytime construction noise.

Legoland Florida to Rebuild Entertainment Department Amid Mass Layoffs

Legoland Florida Resort is preparing to restructure its entertainment department, with plans for 234 permanent layoffs in the coming months, according to reporting by ClickOrlando.com. The layoffs, which make up a significant reduction in the resort’s workforce, will primarily impact the entertainment department, accounting for approximately 75% of the roles being eliminated.

The layoffs are detailed in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice sent to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity on Friday. According to the notice, the layoffs are set to begin on March 25 and continue through April 7, affecting a mix of full-time and part-time employees. None of the impacted roles are union-represented.

In a statement, a Legoland Florida representative explained the decision, saying, “At LEGOLAND Florida Resort, we are making operational changes to help us elevate the guest experience in 2025 and beyond. This includes changes in how we deliver entertainment. The decision to reduce the size of some of our teams was undoubtedly difficult, but these changes will allow the resort to operate more flexibly and responsively in a competitive market.”
