Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Cut Ties

19_jerry_lgl

The Walt Disney Co. and super producer Jerry Bruckheimer will not be renewing their deal when it expires in 2014. It will be the end of a relationship that has lasted more than 20 years.

Bruckheimer’s,  “The Lone Ranger” was a very expensive disappointment. Before “Lone Ranger,” Bruckheimer worked  with Disney on “Pirates of the Caribbean“.

“I am very appreciative of the wonderful collaboration and support I have had at the Walt Disney Co. for over 20 years and the 27 movies we have made together,” said Bruckheimer. “The good news is we will continue working together on Pirates of the Caribbean 5National Treasure and other projects we have developed together at the studio.”

“We will continue to work together in the future, and we look forward to seeing more of the films that have made Jerry Bruckheimer a Hollywood legend,” Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn said in a statement.

Disney World Testing Attraction+ with Magic Bands

magic band

Hey Ladies and Gents. Do I really need my snappy intro? I think not, since you have heard from so much lately! Oh what they hey drum roll please…..It is “I” Anonymouse! Sorry I had to! Well Chippy has been on me lately for more My Magic+ Magicband Gossip. So here is what I could get from my super secret inside sources:

It seems as though Disney is trying to incorporate your Attraction+ with your Magicband. They have been recently, and secretly it seems, testing this feature. So I ask the question, is there anything they can’t put on this Magicband? I know I can’t wait to get the Magicband, if they would hurry up and release it already.

My super secret inside source tell me that testing will be done, at the Magic Kingdom I believe. CM’s will get to ride a few rides, I know it must be hard being them. Then they will try uploading these pictures to your Magicband. Cool huh?

They are doing this so you won’t have to slow down and look at your ride pictures as you leave the attraction. You can look at them whenever you want.

Of course there is a lot of details to work out, like your Magicband matching up with the seat you are in and making sure it goes to the right band etc. You get the idea!

Any who, that is all the Disney Gossip I have right now. For my past Gossip articles be sure to check them out here.

Got any good gossip/rumors? Please email me at [email protected] or on my Facebook Page.

MNSSHP Treats Candy Corn Soft Serve

One of the best things about fall is all the pumpkin-scented goodies and raiding the kids’ trick-or-treat bags, that is my personal favorite. Table service restaurants will have seasonal sweets, too.

  • Tony’s Town Square Restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A., is serving Peanut Butter Chocolate Spider Whoopie Pie, as well as the-popular “bat cake” – a bat-shaped chocolate cake topped with chocolate frosting (available at dinner on party nights only).
  • Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland, there’s a blood orange and chocolate cream puff filled with “dripping blood-orange mousse,” and a Poisoned Caramel Apple Cupcake (vanilla with caramelized apples).
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table is featuring the Evil Queen’s “Brew-le,” vanilla crème brûlèe with “eyeballs, bones and bubbled sugar.”
  • Liberty Tree Tavern in Liberty Square is offering a Halloween trio dessert with cake “eyeballs,” pumpkin pudding and almond “witches’ fingers.”

Downtown Disney Foodtopia Coming in October at Disney World

Splitsville Downtown Disney
Splitsville Downtown Disney

Splitsville Downtown Disney

Have you ever wanted to try the famous roasted chicken at Bongos Cuban Café? Shrimp and grits at House of Blues? Milk-braised pork shoulder with garlic smashed potatoes at Portobello? The food at Downtown Disney is amazing.

Now you’ve got a good excuse to try them all during Downtown Disney Foodtopia October 1-31, when the area becomes a food lover’s paradise with bargain bites for some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes. Seven restaurants are rolling out generous 3-course dinners for $30, with a $60 option at Fulton’s Crab House (tax and gratuity extra). The seven include Bongos Cuban Café, House of Blues, Paradiso 37, Planet Hollywood, Portobello, Splitsville Luxury Lanes and Wolfgang Puck Café.

You can head to Foodtopia any day of the week between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. – but you have to make your reservation and payment by calling 407-WDW-DINE beginning September 28 and at least 48 hours in advance (and reservations are limited). Cannot be combined with other promotions.

Want to make it a dinner-and-a-show night? If you make a Foodtopia dining reservation, you
can save on tickets to Cirque du Soleil “La Nouba” with a 20 percent discount for everyone in your party.

Three full courses and a non-alcoholic beverage. For instance, at Wolfgang Puck Café, you can start with garlic and white bean hummus, a Caesar salad or butternut squash soup. Entrees include pesto chicken, crispy pork loin or spaghetti Bolognese. Desserts are key lime pie, carrot cake or a brownie sundae. Paradiso 37 is offering blackened mahi sliders, a hearty beef burrito or chicken enchiladas paired with a starter and dessert. At Planet Hollywood their Celebrity BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger is on tap for an entrée, or lasagna or their gargantuan Southwest Salad. These aren’t pared-down courses. Splitsville lets you choose from eight appetizers and 10 entrées, with a brownie and ice cream for dessert.

And that $60 menu at Fulton’s Crab House? It includes either shrimp cocktail, steamed clams and mussels or jumbo lump crab cake to start; a whole Rhode Island lobster, cioppino or filet mignon for an entrée, and a Toll House Cookie sundae, key lime pie or root beer float for dessert. Extravagant dining for a reasonable price.

10 Ways to Celebrate a Birthday at Walt Disney World

WDW Celebration

Celebrating your birthday at Walt Disney World can be an extra MAGICAL experience!  From the moment you arrive at your resort, and you get a Birthday button, to the cake you have at Cinderella’s Royal Table, Walt Disney World allows you to celebrate your birthday like nowhere else on earth!  Today, I want to share some fun ways to celebrate birthdays at Walt Disney World!  Walt Disney World is all about celebrations!

1.  Before you arrive, visit Disney Floral and Gifts.  This website has EXCELLENT choices for making the celebration start from the moment you enter your resort room.  Flying High With Mickey is a fun balloon bouquet to decorate your room upon arrival.  Or, visit their Custom Gift Builder and choose items that you know your child will love!  Or, choose the Royal Welcome package for your little princess!  She’ll feel so special!

2.  Decorate your room with items from home.  Bring along some Disney themed window clings for your mirrors or balcony doors.  Letting your child decorate for his/her birthday can be fun!

3.  Take a Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise.  Board the cruise at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and you’ll be off on an adventure with Mr. Smee and some other adventurous guests!  As you cruise across Seven Seas Lagoon, your fellow passengers will serenade the birthday child, while taking in Wishes with a spectacular view!  When you return, Peter Pan is waiting for you!

4.  Celebration cakes and treats at Disney Dining experiences can really make their birthday memorable!  Upon arriving at your location, you can ask for a small vanilla or chocolate cake to be brought to your table to celebrate.  Or, if you want something a little more customized, call 407.827.2253 at least 48 hours in advance to create a custom designed cake for your child’s birthday!

5.  Pirates’ League or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique are excellent ways to show your birthday child some magic!  Not every little pirate or princess gets to visit the Pirates’ League or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on their Walt Disney World vacation!  Since these experiences can be pricey, and in some ways time consuming, they are excellent for special occasions!  With prices starting around $50, this experience can make a fun, magical way to really make your child feel special on his or her birthday!

6.  Tell EVERYONE it’s your child’s birthday!  From the time you call Disney or your travel agent to book your vacation, to your arrival at your resort, make sure everyone knows you’re celebrating!  Sometimes the resort will arrange for something special to be sent to your room, not always, but sometimes.  Or, arrange for a special birthday wake up call from Mickey!  Even at dining experiences, if they know you’re celebrating a birthday, they’ll sometimes bring a cupcake with a candle in it for your child!  If you’re working your way around World Showcase, ask the Cast Member to write “Happy Birthday” in your child’s passport-using their native language!

7.  Let your child make the touring plan.  Give your child freedom in one of the parks to decide what they are doing all day long!  Even if it means taking on Space Mountain and then Splash Mountain immediately after that, go for it!

8.  Give your child daily surprises.  Before getting to Disney, pack some fun little treats for your child.  You could even go so far as to make a gift tag for a small gift each day, to make it appear as if a character left your child a fun gift.  Coloring books, Disney stuffed animals, Disney tattoos, etc. are a great way to give your child something special everyday!

9.  Have the characters autograph a birthday card.  Take along a birthday card for your child, and carry it with you around the parks or to a character meal.  After they have signed the autograph book, have them sign the card, too!  What an awesome keepsake!

10.  Play mini-golf or visit DisneyQuest.  With every package booked at Walt Disney World, you will receive money saving vouchers for some of Disney’s attractions outside of the parks.  Fantasia Mini Golf, Splitsville, and DisneyQuest are often part of those vouchers.  Why not take advantage of those, and celebrate with a fun family night out?

Disney World allows for so much celebrating!  After all, their past themes have been “What Will You Celebrate Today?”, and “Celebrate a Dream Come True”, etc.  How have you celebrated birthdays at Walt Disney World?  I’m all about celebrating ANYTHING in life!  Contact me to see how I can help make your next Disney vacation full of celebrations and magic!  Email me at [email protected]!

Disney Announces New Dates for Upcoming Movies

Maleficent

Walt Disney Pictures has announced some new changes and release dates.

The studio will now release DreamWorks Pictures’ The Fifth Estate wide instead of in limited theaters on October 18, 2013.

Disney is moving up Maleficent from July 2, 2014 to May 30, 2014. The movie will be released in 3D. I am most excited about this one!

The studio has also set a new date for McFarland, starring Kevin Costner and Maria Bello, for November 21, 2014.

Pixar’s movie, The Good Dinosaur has been moved back a year and a half from May 30, 2014 to November 25, 2015. So this means that 2014 will be the first year without a Pixar film since 2005.

Finding Dory was scheduled for November 25, 2015 but it will now be in theaters on June 17, 2016.

Check here for the upcoming movie schedule.
