The new permit, listed for “general construction,” is tied to 775 Stage Lane, Bay Lake, Florida—the backstage area of the former “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” theater. The permit, assigned to MLC Theming Inc., extends Disney’s partnership with the creative construction company, which specializes in scenic painting, facades, and intricate design. Fans might recognize their work from other Disney projects, including the Polynesian Village Resort and Frontier Trading Post.

While the theater’s transformation has been in progress, Disney recently removed the Voyage of the Little Mermaid marquee, signaling a new era for this space. The magic doesn’t stop there—Design Communications Ltd. has been tasked with creating custom signage for the updated production. The level of detail being poured into this project is a testament to Disney’s dedication to immersing audiences in Ariel’s undersea world.

The latest permit comes with an expiration date of August 29, 2025, well ahead of the show’s planned debut in summer 2025. With construction humming along and Disney already teasing stunning new puppets for the production, fans can expect a state-of-the-art experience that reimagines this beloved tale for the stage.
