Disney Quick Tip: What to Wear in the Disney Parks

shoes

Disney World touring involves a lot of walking-and since it’s Florida, you are bound to be in the warm sun!  You may see many families who have created coordinating t-shirts, the little princesses fresh from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and even dads sporting their Mickey Mouse gear.  Comfort is key, yes….but you don’t have to sacrifice your style while in the Disney parks either!  So today, I am going to share with you What to Wear in the Disney Parks!

Comfortable walking shoes.  This can be a “no brainer”.  But, if you don’t like the confines of tennis shoes, what is your option?  Many shoe brands have very comfortable flip flops.  Look for athletic brands like Nike or Adidas.  They make flip flops with extra cushion.  I personally love my Reefs while in the parks as well.  In fact, I never wear tennis shoes while at Disney!  My children are comfortable in their Crocs, as well as their Fila Skeletoes.  We always pack at least two pairs of shoes per person, in case they get wet or they need to change.

Dresses or skirts.  I prefer dresses while in the Disney parks.  They are so much cooler, and to be honest, I like my family to look decent for those photo opportunities.  Often my daughter is dressed in sundresses as well.  I like these because while she is in the stroller, her little knees are always exposed to the sun-and sundresses do a good job of keeping her knees covered.

Cargo Shorts.  For the boys and my husband, cargo shorts are awesome.  I love these because of all the pockets. Our boys looove their Disney maps, and often keep small hard candy or maybe even their digital cameras in their pockets.  Since my husband also carries his phone with him, the pockets keep it safe and easy to get to.  Plus, cargo shorts tend to be a tad longer, and keep their legs a little more protected from the sun.

A backpack.  I know, it’s not clothing.  BUT, my husband always has our backpack on in the parks.  It’s actually a camera backpack, and has plenty of room for everything we need.  We stash my DSLr camera, autograph books, pens, bandaids, and sometimes dry snacks in the backpack.

A crossbody bag.  My COACH cross body bag is my “go to” bag for the parks.  It easily holds my small point and shoot digital camera, lip balm, gum, and my phone.  Plus, it is easy to stash on the rides as well.

Matching Disney themed shirts.  There are loads of ways to get your family to coordinate for some of your Disney days.  If you are like me, you are crafting shirts for the kiddos a week or so in advance.  There are tons of tutorials on Pinterest for creating tye-dyed Disney shirts, and you can even make a quick trip to the Disney Store to pick out some essentials for those character meals.

And of course, you have the obvious things to wear-sunglasses and sunsreen, right?  What are your “must haves” for fashion in the Disney parks?

WDW Canoe

The nearest ocean is a good hour’s drive away in either direction from Walt Disney World. Although the Resort is landlocked, all is not lost for Guests who love the open waters.

I feel like Bubba Blue from Forrest Gump, except instead of spouting shrimp dishes I’m listing boating options. You’ve got…

  • Pedal boating
  • Canoeing
  • Kayaking
  • Motor boating
  • Sailboating
  • Parasailing (pulled by a boat)
  • Tubing (pulled by a boat)
  • Water skiing (pulled by a boat)
  • Wake boarding
  • Specialty cruises
  • And of course, Friendships and ferries

No kidding! I’m telling you, Walt Disney World truly has something for everyone. Here, Captain Mickey and Sailor Donald know they are not the only ones who like to set sail, so they’ve arranged plenty of options for your seafaring hearts.

Friendships that cruise Seven Seas Lagoon, World Showcase Lagoon, and the waterways between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios and between Downtown Disney and the Port Orleans Resorts, as well as the larger sternwheelers on Seven Seas, are all part of the complementary Walt Disney World Transportation System, carrying Guests where they need to go. But if you’re seeking a bit more water world adventure, it can be arranged.

WDW searacers

Pedal boats are available at Disney’s Caribbean Beach and Old Key West resorts. Grab a canoe at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or the bay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Kayak the waterways of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Motorized boats include sea racers, whalers, and pontoons, and are available at a variety of docks across Resort property. Try out a 12-foot sailboat at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and take on a 13-foot catamaran at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Parasail, water ski, tube, and wakeboard at Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre on Bay Lake for beautiful views of Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Magic Kingdom park. And enjoy a specialty cruise—celebrate a landmark birthday, commemorate a golden anniversary, or just enjoy a fireworks spectactular—on Bay Lake, Seven Seas Lagoon, or Crescent Lake aboard a pontoon or yacht for a private outing full of memories that last a lifetime.

See! I told you there’s a boating option for just about anyone! If you’d like to know more, call (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529 for more information or to arrange reservations.

The Competition Returns to Full Sail University on June 7

The Red Bull BC One qualifier returns to Orlando this year, where the best b-boys in the South will come together to fight for the top spot and the right to represent North America in France for the finals. Full Sail University will be the host to an event filled with spins, flips and dance.

Cypher season kicked off February 28 with the first event held in Cairo, Egypt and is now coming to the South for the Orlando Cypher on June 7.

Throughout the year, the Red Bull BC One Cyphers is searching out the best B-Boys far and wide to earn a spot in the World Final. Sixteen B-Boys will go head to head in each country in knockout battles to their nation at one of six Finals, which will be held this year in the USA, Brazil, Algeria, Finland, Croatia and Taiwan. The Finals champions will go on to compete on France’s stage in November. Find the full Red Bull BC One Cypher schedule online.

Red Bull BC One was founded in 2004 in Biel, Switzerland. Over the years, the championship has moved from Germany to Brazil, South Africa, France, the USA, Japan, Russia and South Korea. Today it remains a key event in Hip Hop culture, helping to push the art form forward while respecting the original format of one-on-one battles.

Some of the 16 participants include –

Unnex, Arecibo, Puerto Rico
Hip-hop culture has been part of his life since 2008. Unnex started break dancing when he was 16 years old, but was first introduced to the dance form at the age of 12 by watching the movie Beat Street. He is confident, determined, intelligent, energetic, spontaneous and charismatic. Unnex considers his style undefined, because he likes to battle and dance by free styling.

Zao, Miami, FL
Zao’s (zay-oh) real name is Daniel Montenegro. He is 26 years old and was born and raised in Miami. Hi started break dancing at the age of 14, while in 9th grade. Zao was given his name by two childhood friends – because he would wear his favorite band T-shirt to practice every Friday. The lettering of the shirt reminded them of a Bboy style shirt with the name on the top back. Zao is currently dancing & training to inspire others around him to become involved in dance.

Sweet P, Houston, TX
Hailing from Haiti, Sweet P lived in Houston most of his life and began b-boying at the end of middle school. He learned the art of dance from four amazingly-talented performers, who taught him the foundations of a broad range of dance styles. Sweet P doesn’t really dance in a crew, but calls the people he dances with family. Groups that he has collaborated with include the Inertia Dance Co., History Dance Co. RAD Crew, Jungle Brothers Crew, The Dirty Nation, Thug Bunnies, Groovernadez, Beat Geeks and all of the other individual dancers I’ve danced with.

Jose, Houston, TX
21-year-old Jose Cardenas has been dancing for more than six years. The Houston native is a crew-member of Hazardous Zombies. “I just hope people enjoy watching the way I dance,” says Cardenas.

Tung Fu, Orlando, FL
Tung Fu is no stranger to the Bboy scene. The 22 year-old started breaking in 2005 and has since dominated competitions in both the US and Europe. Tung Fu represents The MF Kidz crew from Orlando, FL.

Chrizo, Miami, FL
Charlie Chizo was born and raised in Miami, where he started dancing around 2003. Chizo’s crew affiliation is the Flip Side Kings.

Star Wars: Force for Change

I never grow tired of hearing about new Star Wars news, so I almost jumped out of my chair when I got an email about a new Star Wars charity initiative campaign. The initiative Star Wars: Force for Change  isn’t your usual charity campaign though, contributors will have a chance to be in the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII.

This new initiative was announced by J.J. Abrams himself in a special video from set the set.

Fans Have A Chance To Be In STAR WARS: EPISODE VII
J.J. Abrams Announcing Star Wars: Force For Change, on set.

Star Wars: Force for Change, a brand new Star Wars initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm in collaboration with Bad Robot dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems. The first Star Wars: Force for Change campaign will raise funds and awareness for the United Nations Children’s Fund’s (UNICEF) Innovation Labs and its innovative programs that are benefitting the world’s most vulnerable children. Beginning Today, Visit Omaze.com/StarWars to Enter for a Chance to Win.

Disney has committed US $1 million to support the launch of Star Wars: Force for Change. Fans can now contribute directly at Omaze.com/StarWars for a chance to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII. For each $10 contribution made through the Omaze fundraising platform, eligible participants will be automatically entered for a chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The campaign runs from 12:01am PST on May 21stth until 11:59pm PST July 18th.

The Star Wars: Force for Change Grand Prize includes:

  • Airfare and accommodations to London for one winner and a guest
  • Behind-the-scenes access on the closed set of Star Wars: Episode VII as VIP guests of J.J. Abrams
  • Winner will have the opportunity to meet members of the cast
  • Winner and their guest will then be transformed by makeup and costume teams into a Star Wars character and filmed for a scene in Star Wars: Episode VII

“The Star Wars fans are some of the most passionate and committed folks around the globe,” says director J.J. Abrams. “We’re thrilled to offer a chance to come behind the scenes as our VIP guests and be in Star Wars: Episode VII. We’re even more excited that by participating in this campaign, Star Wars fans will be helping children around the world through our collaboration with UNICEF Innovation Labs and projects.”

Star Wars continues to inspire generations of dreamers and doers to usetheir creativity to accomplish great things. Star Wars and Lucasfilm were built on the belief that in uniting creativity with innovation, you can make the impossible possible.

“The Star Wars films were made through George Lucas’s adventurous combination of technology and creativity,” says Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm. “We wanted to honor and carry on that positive spirit as we start production on Episode VII and use Star Wars to make a difference in the world. Star Wars: Force for Change will help us do that, letting us give back to the fans who keep Star Wars alive, and raising much-needed funds for programs like UNICEF’s Innovation Labs.”

By pledging support for Star Wars: Force for Change, fans are helping UNICEF create a brighter tomorrow for kids and families around the world. Through its global network of Innovation Labs, UNICEF helps create sustainable solutions to major issues facing children in the areas of nutrition, water, health, and education. The Star Wars: Force for Change campaign will help fund innovative, life-changing projects in communities around theglobe.

“UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories  to help the world’s most vulnerable children and young people identify solutions and create change,” says Christopher Fabian, UNICEF Senior Advisor on Innovation and co-Lead of the Innovation Unit. “We work together with the greatest technologists and designers of our time to create open-source solutions that help millions of people. The support from Star Wars: Force for Change will help to bind these innovators together on a mission to solve the world’s most pressing problems, and create a better future.”

There are some pretty great gifts for giving to this cause. A $100 Donation gets you 10 contest entries and a pretty sweet looking limited edition Star Wars: Force for Change campaign T-shirt! For a $5,000 donation you can even get a light saber replica from the movie!

Rock your Disney Side Ears

I have been saying this a lot lately but I can not wait for the 24 hour event. I have been to every single one, but this one will be my favorite because the villains are involved. Not to mention Disney keeps throwing all this incredible merchandise at us. Don’t you just love the Rock Your Disney Side ears (pictured above)? I am sure most of you already have your costumes picked out but those ears would be awesome with any costume!

Did you know the T-Shirt has glow in the dark features on the event logo?  If you will be on the west coast at Disneyland you will also be able to get a long-sleeved fleece option with this artwork.

Heroes and Villains Merchandise

A limited release pin will also contain the Heroes and Villains artwork. If you will be in Florida this pin will only be released at Disney’s Pin Traders at Downtown Disney starting May 22, it will not be found anywhere else even during the event. If you are in Cali, the pin will be released on May 23 in certain locations at Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park.

My personal favorite is the Heroes vs. Villains color changing glow baton (pictured above). Look for it on the glow carts during the party!

We will also have the option of 2 more cupcakes, don’t they look delicious?

Disney on Ice Presents “Frozen”

Disney Frozen on ice
Disney Frozen on ice

Disney Frozen on Ice

Most of us love “Frozen” so it has been a huge moneymaker for Disney. Needless to say they want to strike while the iron is hot, so what is the next step, “Frozen” on Ice, of course. How fitting “Frozen” will be on ice. Get it? I love Disney on Ice, especially when we couldn’t make it to the park it was the next best thing.

“Disney On Ice spectacular will bring the Academy winning tale will be told live for the first time in this production, capturing the dynamic between two royal sisters, Anna and Elsa. Anna, a girl with an extraordinary heart, embarks on an epic journey to find her sister, the magical Elsa, who is determined to remain secluded as she finally feels free to test the limits of her powers. Rugged mountain man Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, the lovable and hilarious snowman Olaf and the mystical trolls help Anna along the way in this story about love conquering fear. Audiences will get to sing along with such musical masterpieces as “Let it Go,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Fixer Upper.”

Don’t worry your other Disney favorites will be in the show too, “Mickey and Minnie Mouse take the audience through the magical story based in Arendelle, with special appearances by beloved Disney princesses and favorite characters from Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story and Finding Nemo and Disney’s The Lion King.”

Tickets go on sale June 3. However if you can’t wait and you must have tickets now then you can use the pre-sale code “Social” and you can get your tickets now. So go to ticketmaster.com and get the good seats before they are gone!

Disneyland Ticket Options

DisneyTicketBook wbelf
DisneyTicketBook wbelf

Disneyland ticket
Planning a trip to Disneyland can be just as overwhelming as Disney World. For much different reasons however. One of the most confusing aspects of a Disneyland vacation is the number of ticket options available. Including adding other area attractions when purchasing a vacation package. I’m going to take a moment and highlight the most common ticket options.

Very important, DO NOT buy your tickets off any online auction sites, or via a online community selling website such as eBay or Craigslist. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard the stories of people getting turned away from their families vacation when attempting to use tickets purchased in this way. The most common ticket offer is a partial ticket. Such as the seller offering 2 days of their 5 day tickets. Disneyland Cast Members will likely question you if they are suspicious and are known to taking the tickets and denying you entry. Don’t take the risk… Please…

Onto the more fun part of this conversation. What ticket options are there?

1 Day – 1 Park Ticket Option:

Just as it sounds, this ticket allows the holder to visit either Disneyland Park or California Adventure Park for one day. There is no hopping between the two parks. While this may be the least expensive option, it’s truly a limiting option. If you are spending only one day at Disneyland, then I highly recommend upgrading to a 1 Day Park Hopper option for less than $50 per person.

1 Day Park Hopper Ticket Option:

Also fairly self-explanatory, this option allows you to visit both parks in a single day. Again, if you only have one day to visit, make sure you do the best of both parks in that one day.

You can also do up to 5 Days with either of these ticket options. Up to 5 Day Single Park tickets or up to 5 Day Park Hopper tickets. If you do 3 Day Park Hopper or longer ticket option, you’ll receive one Magic Morning with your tickets as well. This allows you to go in early to either Disneyland or California Adventure on select days.

SoCal City Pass Ticket Option:

This is the most common ticket I recommend to my guests as it provides a nice variety of Southern California attractions. The downside of this ticket option is that the 3 selected attractions are a good distance from each other, so there is driving and transportation to consider. The great part of this ticket option is the savings you can receive. You receive a 3 Day Park Hopper Ticket to Disneyland with one Magic Morning, 1 day ticket to Universal Studios Hollywood and 1 Day Ticket to SeaWorld San Diego. All 3 attractions are popular with many visitors to this area, so having a nice option to purchase tickets all together and at a discount is a nice option. This option is also available with a Disneyland Hotel Package or a Good Neighbor Hotel Package.

Beyond Disneyland Ticket Options:

If you purchase a vacation package form Disney or through your friendly Travel Agent, you can add all sorts of other Southern California attractions as well. Including San Diego Zoo, Hollywood Tours, Beach Visits, and more. Ask your Travel Agent to provide you with the options and cost of any you are interested in.

Oh and if you find these tickets, they are a great keepsake, and some Disney Addict will probably buy them from you:

Top 10: Disney World Rides/Attractions Where You Might Get Wet!

poncho
poncho

poncho

There are thrills and fun around ever corner at Walt Disney World!  From the fast paced rides, big drops, loud noises, and everything else in between, it’s good to know what to expect when you are making your way through the parks.  Today I’m sharing with you my top 10 list of rides/attractions where you might get wet.  Maybe you’ll seek out these rides as a means to cool down.  Maybe you’ll plan around these rides to avoid a soak.  I’ll go ahead and say that many of the rides I’ve selected for this top 10 list are not a SOAKING wet type of wet, but there is a chance that you’ll leave a little more damp than you entered.  For organization purposes, the closer we get to #1, the wetter I think you’ll get. The top 3 are a bit of a tie for me, hopefully the way I organized this will help you gauge the wet factor!  Let’s get splashin!

10. Stitch’s Great Escape

Think squirting not so much soaking for this attraction.  As Stitch makes his Great Escape, you’ll see that he resorts to throwing off the DNA guns by sending his salavia soaring through the audience.  Be prepared to get a squirt or two.  I like this heads up, not because I’ll know to bring a change of clothes, you’ll probably be dry by the end of the show; rather, I like to mentally prepare for random squirts of “spit” to the face! (wet scale:  a tissue would remedy the water you’ll encounter in this attraction)

9. Jungle Crusie

Okay so we’re still on the tame side, but folks, you NEVER know what’s gonna happen on the jungle cruise.  From the crazy antics of those water spraying elephants to the dangers of the backside of water, you might get a teensy sprinkling.   None the less, if you’re hoping to stay pristine, you might be on the lookout for errant water drops. (wet scale: much like Stitch’s Great Escape, the wet factor here will be minimal at best.  A cloth to clean off sunglasses/glasses might be your best tool.)

8. Pirates of the Caribbean

The past few times I’ve ridden Pirates of the Caribbean, I’ve gotten splashed and walked off with a wet bottom.  I found the wettest parts of this other wise tame boat ride to be during the short fall and the scene with the cannons.  Make sure you check the bench seat of the boat before setting sail, you might be able to avoid the wet bottom.  I always make sure to stow away any “treasure”  (such as my camera and phone) before taking this voyage.  (wet scale:  you might need a paper towel or a few good minutes to let your bottom dry off…just long enough to get to the next ride!)

7.  Big Thunder Mountain

Who doesn’t love the wildest ride in the wilderness?  I know I do!  There are a few parts of this rip roaring good ride that you might find a  good refreshing mist or even a bit of a splash as you make your way through the gold mines.  Get ready for a wild ride with the possibility of a bit of wet!  (wet scale:  dry off with the ride, if needed a paper towel might come in handy).

6. The Maelstrom

World Showcases’ most exciting ride can be found within the Norway Pavilion!  The Maelstrom takes you through the viking and troll days of Norway’s past to modern day Norway with an exciting drop over the falls.  Don’t worry, you won’t be soaked to the bone, but you might just enjoy a refreshing splash of Water as the troll sends you on a free fall.  (wet scale:  again a paper towel will probably do the trick, the closer to the front of the boat, the more likely you’ll get a little wetter.)

5. Magic Carpets of Aladdin

My nephew loves this ride!  I’ve had more than my fair share of spins on Aladdin’s carpets and I’ve had my fair share of water torture by way of spitting camel.  As you ride, you have the ability to maneuver the carpet up and down and tilt it front and back-these maneuvers would be most beneficial to avoid becoming the camel’s target.  (wet scale:  if that camel gets you, you’re gonna have some splash damage.  A good wipe down with a paper towel will probably be your best bet.)

4.  Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure

This attraction isn’t going to get you soaked to the bone, but innocent park guest have become the target for flying water shot from  larger than life water guns and garden hoses.  Keep your eyes peeled and listen for the sound of the splatter if you want to avoid the soak.  Then again, if you want to take advantage of the cool down, make your way through the forest of faux grass and get your splash on! (wet scale”  if you get a blast from the Supersoaker water gun or hose, you’re gonna need some dry time.  Perhaps a trip by the bathroom to use the hand dryer.)

3.  Splash Mountain

Oh my gracious I love this ride!  I love the drops, the song, the scenery, I even love the completely soaked behind that I walk proudly away with.  This ride is pretty much a guaranteed soaker.  From the multiple drops to the sloshing water as your log raft makes its way to the happy place, you’re in for a wet ride.  I always put my backpack inside of my poncho before stowing it away for the ride, that way my camera and other personal items don’t get ruined.  I say the wetter the better—that’s really what this ride is all about.  (wet scale:  You’re probably going to experience wet clothes and shoes, there is a possibility of getting wet on the face, so you might want to pack a poncho to wear for the ride or bring a beach towel to dry off!)

2.   Casey Jr. Splash and Soak

Okay, so if you dare enter this play area, be prepared to be soaked.  I highly recommend avoiding this area if you don’t want to get wet, especially if you are with little ones (the lure is too great to make your way past this splash area without a meltdown).  The play area features a water play area complete with a circus train of soaking good fun.  Packing an extra set of clothes might be your best route.  In the Florida heat, this area is a welcome relief! (wet scale:  if you’re gonna play here you’re gonna be soaked.  If you don’t mind drippy clothes and soggy shoes, then you might want to bring a beach towel and change of clothes/shoes.  This ones a dozy.)

1.  Kali River Rapids

Think wet rat.  That is EXACTLY what is most probably going to happen on this ride.  From head to toe, you are subject to getting soaked to the core!  I will go say up front that there is always “that person” who either a.) Gets hit by every single drop of water and walks off looking like they’ve been swimming or b.) Stays as dry as a bone.  I’ve been both.  Either way, it’s best to prepare for this ride.  Since you do have the possibility of being soaked, plan ahead as to when you’ll ride, packing a change of clothes/shoes  (if you need to).  You can take some steps to minimize the wet factor, like wearing a poncho (oh yes, I’ve totally been that girl).  Also, it helps to put your feet up on the bar when you ride, that way your feet will stay relativity dry.  Finally, make sure you keep anything you want to stay dry inside the protected area and double up by placing any thing that is electronic, etc. in a ziplock baggy inside of your park bag.  (wet scale:  there’s a VERY good chance that you are going to be wet to the core.  Bringing a change of clothes, a beach towel, and extra shoes (don’t forget socks) is a good idea.  You don’t want to have to resort to the hand dryers for this one.  You’ll most likely be dripping head to toe!)

I hope you’ve enjoyed this fun list of my top 10 rides/attractions where you might get wet.  Don’t say we didn’t warn you!  From the miniscule mist to the spectacular soak, this list has you covered!  Share with us your tips for these wet rides in the comment section below.

Radiator Springs 500 1/2\

Race into summer with the Disney Movies Anywhere premiere of Radiator Springs 500 1/2. The all-new Disney•Pixar short is available for FREE! It is the first installment in the “Tales from Radiator Springs” series.

The short features,  Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen and directed by Rob Gibbs (“Mater’s Tall Tales”), Radiator Springs 500 1/2 tells the story of a “leisurely drive” planned in honor of Radiator Springs’ town founder, Stanley, which turns precarious as Baja pros descend on the town and challenge Lightning McQueen to an off-road race. Meanwhile, the townsfolk, led by a Stanley-costumed Mater, enjoy the planned “leisurely drive” to retrace Stanley’s original frontier route. Thinking they’re on the same course, a wrong turn sends McQueen and the Baja pros on a treacherously wild bid for survival. The misunderstanding leaves the racing professionals in awe of the “legend” of Stanley: the Original Off-Road Racer.

Busch Gardens and SeaWorld Raise Prices

seaworld

Starting today, Monday, May 19, 2014, a 1 day ticket to SeaWorld and Busch Gardens will go up to $95 for adults and $90 for children ages 3 to 9.

The Magic Kingdom remains the most expensive Orlando theme park, with a 1 day ticket going for $99. I think that is an outrageous price but on the other side the Magic Kingdom is worth every dollar. The other 3 Disney parks are slightly cheaper at $94.00 per day.

However there is a silver lining. SeaWorld’s website offers a $15 discount on tickets purchased in advance or a $30 discount for weekday-only tickets.
