Disney World PhotoPass just got Better!

Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain

Starting today if you’re wearing an active MagicBand on select Disney World attractions, your PhotoPass pictures will be automatically loaded on to your My Disney Experience account. There is nothing else you have to do, they will just appear there. Guess what? If  you have worn your active MagicBand on one of the participating attractions in the last 45 days, you should be able to view those photos now.

If you don’t have a MagicBand, it’s ok Disney has not forgotten about you. There will be new touch points at the Magic Kingdom on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain. Also at Hollywood Studios on Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Staring Aerosmith, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Here is how it will work:

After you enjoy the ride find your picture on the wall and touch your park ticket or Memory Maker card to the touch point to upload the picture to your account. There will soon have more touch points at  Epcot on, Test Track and at Animal Kingdom on, Dinosaur, and Expedition Everest by the middle of November.

Some more news:

  • If you are wearing an active MagicBand you can also have your attraction videos automatically uploaded to your account. Right now videos are only available for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
  • You can have animated magic shots automatically uploaded to your account. In case you don’t know, animated magic shots are special videos that will appear in the your account after having your photo taken by a Disney PhotoPass photographer in certain spots throughout the park.

Remember, If you’ve worn your MagicBand on one of the these attractions in the last 45 days, you should be able to find that video on your account today! You will be able to view the videos but you will need to have purchased a Memory Maker to download and share them.

F.Y.I Keep in mind that all Disney PhotoPass photos and videos expire 45 days after they are taken.

Newest in home release coming in March 2015 – “Tinkerbell and the Legend of the NeverBeast”

nb2 nb

Tinkerbell and the Legend of the NeverBeast is Disneytoon Studios newest in home release coming in March 2015.  This film will focus on Fawn, the animal fairy who loves all animals unconditionally.  She often thinks with her heart, not her head, which can lead to trouble in Pixie Hollow.  Her intentions are always honorable, but safety isn’t her first priority.  This story develops when Fawn goes on her own adventure to rescue “Gruff” the NeverBeast who is the subject of ancient Pixie Hollow folklore.  Fawn sees goodness in his green eyes and she sets off on an adventure to find his true potential.

Director Steve Loter says that Fawn  was inspired by his young daughter and her unconditional love of animals, but also has a lot of voice talent, Ginnifer Goodwin’s (Once Upon a Time) personality and characteristics.  “You can hear the smile in Ginnifer’s voice – this is a character that loves life and lives it to its fullest.” says Loter.

The film will be released March 3, 2015 and also features the voices of Mae Whitman (Tinkerbell), Megan Hilty (Rosetta), Lucy Liu (Silvermist), Raven Symone (Iridessa), Anjelica Huston (Queen Clarion) and is directed by Steve Loter (“Kim Possible”) and produced by Makul Wigert (“Secret of the Wings”).

My girls love all of the Tinkerbell DVD’s, so I am sure this will be no exception.  We look forward to buying this on release date and having a Pixie Hollow themed pajama party while watching it!  Are you excited for this movie?  Share your comments below.

Disney Infinity and Extra Life teamed up for a special marathon charity event to help local area Children’s hospitals.  The National video game event benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, called out to fans, players and Disney employees to enjoy the Family Fun Day at the Disney Interactive Offices in Glendale, California.

The day’s events included several tables and stands set up with video consoles and all the Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition characters.  Computers on the far end of the room allowed visitors to enjoy Disney Infinity PC games and the many video consoles set up with Disney Infinity 2.0 included all the new and yet to be released characters and accessories.  New Characters included Baymax, Aladdin, Jasmine, Donald Duck, Maleficent and many more.  The packed room event provided us with delicious lunch and snacks.  A card table was set up to make and decorate get well cards to send to the hospitals and the popular costume contest included several well known film characters including my two granddaughters dressed as Elsa and Anna (who tied for first place as best princess costumes).  Other winners, included best scary costume, Black Widow bride,  and a family of little ones dressed as Guardians of the Galaxy characters.  The Frozen (Let it Go) sing-along was  a big hit and had the room singing at the top of our lungs.

The event was shown live on Twitch TV and a Disney Channel commercial filmed at the event will include several of the kids in full costume.  Hitting the goal of raising over $15,000 for our local Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, the event nationwide also raised funds for other Childrens Hospitals.

Here are some of the pictures of the event and upcoming Disney Infinity 2.0 characters coming November 4, 2014.

Changes to Disneyland Christmas Parade this year?

1 1
1 1

1 1

Hey peeps – Anonymouse here with just a little snippet of gossip from the Disneyland Resort.  So I hear that there are some changes coming to the Disneyland Christmas Parade this year.  Apparently, as you all know, FROZEN has taken over the parks and is pushing its way into the Holiday Parade too.  What I hear is that the Ice Skating float with Mickey and Minnie is being replaced with a FROZEN float.

2 2

Then I hear that Mickey and Minnie are going to replace Mrs. Claus on her float (sad face).  Of course it makes sense that Mickey and Minnie are somewhere in the Parade, but poor Mrs. Claus!  There is also a FROZEN holiday soundtrack being added to the Parade.

3 3

Personally, I love the Christmas Parade.  The skating snowflakes, the dancing reindeer, all of the holiday themed floats just put me in the Christmas spirit – even when it’s still 80+ degrees in November in Anaheim.  LOL

What do you think of the rumored changes?  Let me know your thoughts below.  I’m off to bribe, errrrrr, I mean convince more cast members to join me on the Dark Side to bring you more information!

Anywho, that is all the Disneygossip I have right now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at [email protected] or on my facebook page.

XPRIZE, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Disney Corporate Citizenship have announced the winners of the DISNEY BIG HERO 6 – XPRIZE CHALLENGE.  Open to young fans between the ages of 8 and 17, the contestants were asked to submit their creative ideas on how to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges using science, technology, engineering, art and/or mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.).   After receiving hundreds of videos, the 20 semi finalists were narrowed down to the final 6 winners – selected based on a combination of public voting and scores received by the panel of judges:  Dr. Ed Catmull, President of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios; Gwynne Shotwell, president and CEO of SpaceX; Dean Kamen, an inventor, entrepreneur, and founder of FIRST ®; Anousheh Ansari, co-founder and chairwoman of Prodea Systems (and the first female private space explorer); and Jon Snoddy, VP, Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development.

The six young winners will travel to Los Angeles where they will get to spend three days learning all about innovation through a private tour of Walt Disney Animation Studios, a meet-and-greet with the creative minds at Disney Imagineering, a special Visioneering™ experience at XPRIZE headquarters, and the finale will include a walk down the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of Disney’s Big Hero 6.  They will also be given registration fees for the FIRST ® LEGO League for the 2014-2015 competition season and receive a Special littleBits® NASA Space Kit and cloudBit™ Starter Kit.

The real-life “Big Hero 6” winners are:

  • Kamran Ansari, age 9, of Tustin, California, devised a product packaging rating system in order to educate consumers on the wastefulness of a product’s packaging. His system enables the consumer to make environmentally conscious decisions and reduce their carbon footprint.
  • Jasmyne Mendoza, age 11, of Seattle, Washington, developed a solution to world hunger by constructing a biosphere where salt water from our oceans is evaporated and distilled into clean drinking water.
  • Dominick Quaye, age 12, of San Leandro, California, proposed a way to generate clean energy through the use of a high-altitude power generator held in place by massive weather balloons.
  • Chase Lewis, age 15, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, invented a way to deliver emergency smoke masks to people trapped in burning buildings through the use of a football-shaped pod he designed and tested.
  • Carolyn Mennecke, age 17, of Rochester, Minnesota, proposed a more effective way to improve windshield visibility using ultraviolet light sensors to reduce the glare of the sun at dawn and dusk.
  • Kelsey Ann Murobayshi, age 17, of Honolulu, Hawaii, envisioned an innovative solution to safer and environmentally friendly transportation through the use of self-driving “pods”.

These incredibly talented young men and women are the future of tomorrow and we at Chip and Co congratulate them and look forward to their future accomplishments.   Check out the winning videos here.
