ABC Family Picks Up New Series “Guilt”!

As ABC Family works to double its original programming over the next four years, the network has greenlit pilot production on a new one-hour drama series “Guilt.” This announcement comes on the heels of the network ordering pilots for scripted dramas “Stay,” the supernatural drama “Beyond” and scripted comedy “Gorgeous Morons.”

“‘Guilt’ is a sophisticated, sexy and suspenseful crime epic that will have audiences captivated week-to-week,” said Karey Burke, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development, ABC Family.

“Guilt” is an edgy, soapy thriller that revolves around an American in London who becomes the prime suspect in the savage murder of her roommate. As the investigation unfolds, the viewers will question whether she’s a naive, young girl whose poor decisions are being magnified under the ruthless glare of the British tabloids, or whether she’s a sociopath who brutally murdered her friend. Even her own sister, who comes to London to defend her, will question how well she really knows her little sister as more and more ugly truths come out. This mystery will twist through all layers of London society — from a posh, but depraved, sex club all the way up to the Royal Family itself. “Guilt” is written, created and executive-produced by Kathryn Price (“The Game Plan”) and Nichole Millard (“The Game Plan”). Steve McPherson will serve as executive producer. “Guilt” is a co-production of Sea to Sky Entertainment (the joint venture between Lionsgate Television and Thunderbird Films) and BV Family Productions in association with ABC Family.

Disney World Resort Will Upgrade Cell Service

disney

disney

Well, it is about time! If you have been to Disney World theme park or a Disney World Resort lately, then you know that cell service is horrible there, especially in the resorts. This news is huge and I hope it actually helps the service around the Walt Disney World Resort.

According to permits that Disney World has filed in Orange County, the park has filed 5 permits that are related to communications infrastructure work. Some of the work will include Sprint & Verizon putting in some new antennas on the property. They hope this will improve service for the guests as well CM’s in the backstage areas.

I certainly hope so because having no service can be so annoying.

Wishing you Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust

Opening in 2016 – What’s new for Orlando, Attractions and More!

BN IT994 0605fr G 20150605144053
BN IT994 0605fr G 20150605144053

As the summer of 2015 is just beginning I can’t help but to think about all of the wonderful new attractions that are opening in Orlando for 2016. Over the past few years we’ve lost some great attractions, and right on the heels of Universal Orlando announcing the closing of Wet ‘n Wild after 38 years I’m here to bring you ALL of the upcoming attractions to get excited about for 2016.

So where do we begin? How about with Universal Orlando Resort!

Fans of King Kong will be happy to hear that KONG is coming back to Florida in “Skull Island: Reign of Kong.” This amazing attraction set to open in the summer of 2016 at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is truly a groundbreaking attraction meant to scare all those we dare explore the ancient temple structures while encountering hostile natives and fending off unspeakable terrors.

Skull Island Reign of Kong

Those that loved Wet ‘n Wild water park will be happy to hear that Universal Orlando already has plans for a new water park opening in 2017, Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort.  This new water park will offer guests innovative and thrilling attractions along with those moments of relaxation that we all love floating in the warm water surrounded by a very tropical island feel. It’s going to be located just south of their newest resort, Cabana Bay Beach Resort.

Universal's Volcano Bay

I’ve told you about Universal Orlando’s upcoming attraction that can scare any fan with its unspeakable terrors. I’ve told you about the amazing new water park that will send you on a tropical adventure. I’ve saved the best for last!

I’m a big fan of staying at any of the Universal Orlando property resorts, so you can imagine how happy I was to hear about the plans for the fifth onsite hotel, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. This new resort will feature 1,000 rooms and suites with a casual Caribbean theme, built around a lagoon and towering waterfall. It’s expected to open in the summer of 2016, so stay tuned for more information on how you can visit this newest resort. I know I plan to be one of the first to stay at Sapphire Falls Resort, shhhh just don’t tell my kids!

Now let’s move over to SeaWorld Orlando, and Busch Gardens Tampa.

Are you a fan of big roller coasters? Well I am! If you are too I have some amazing news. SeaWorld Orlando AND Busch Gardens Tampa are getting a new coaster in each of their parks. Let me break them down for you.

SeaWorld Orlando is bringing us a new 200 foot tall coaster that is going to be Orlando’s tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster. The “Mako” will reach speeds of 73 mph as it races along 4,760 feet of steel track. This new coaster is named for one of the ocean’s fastest sharks, hence the need for SPEED! The new hypercoaster will be the centerpiece of SeaWorld’s newly themed two acre plaza which will be totally shark themed. Guest’s will also have the chance to learn about the impact humans have on sharks and why these animals are critical to the environment.

SeaWorld Mako

Busch Gardens Tampa also announced plans for a new thrill ride set to open in 2016. The Cobra’s Curse is a spin coaster featuring a vertical lift, and the only one of its kind in the world. I warn you now its key icon feature is an 80-foot snake! Riders go on a whirlwind adventure as they trek over the park’s Serengeti Plain and explore the mysteries of an Egyptian archaeological excavation. I might have to skip this one! NOT a fan of snakes! Who am I kidding; I’ll be the first in line!

Busch Gardens Tampa Cobra

What’s happening at the Walt Disney World Resort?

Time to talk about all of the new and exciting things going on with the lovable “Mouse!”  Walt Disney World Resort is currently adding a new “update” to a favorite ride in the EPCOT theme park as well as to Downtown Disney which is being transformed into something I believe Walt himself dreamed of for this area.

The Maelstrom ride, located in the Norway pavilion of the World Showcase of EPCOT is be renovated into a new attraction based on Disney’s popular animated film, “Frozen.”  The newest ride, “Frozen Ever After” sets to open in early 2016. The ride will take guests to Arendelle during the kingdom’s Winter Festival. It will feature favorite characters and music from the film. You’ll be amazed with cutting-edge technology too!

Frozen

Disney Springs, as we will come to know is what’s replacing the “late” Downtown Disney area which is currently being developed into a multi-year transformation to include double the number of shops, restaurants and other venues for guests to explore You’ll have more than 150 establishments, and some you might know by name like APEX by Sunglass Hut, Art of Shaving, Chapel Hats, Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC, Havaianas, Sanuk and Sound Lion. Disney Springs will open in phases with expected completion in 2016.

DS

Soccer Fans Unite! Orlando City Stadium opens in 2016:

While this might not be a theme park or a fancy new shopping complex it does have a major place in the Orlando area. Orlando can also be known for its sports events being home to the Orlando Magic as well as home to spring training for two Major League Baseball teams. The Atlanta Braves train at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort, and the Houston Astros train at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee. Well now Orlando will be home to a multipurpose Soccer Stadium. The stadium will be located in downtown Orlando, and scheduled to open summer of 2016. This developing entertainment center is just a short block away from the Amway Center, so you know it’s going to become very popular. The stadium will seat between 25- to 28,000 fans and serve as home to the Orlando City Lions soccer team.

Earlier this month, Accelerate Change Together for Anaheim (ACT Anaheim) announced ACT II, a total of $2 million in funding to benefit 14 Orange County nonprofits. ACT Anaheim was launched in 2014 by Disneyland Resort, Angels Baseball and the Anaheim Ducks, which collectively committed $3 million to address gaps in services for underserved Anaheim youth over the span of three years. The first round of funding, $1.5 million to 10 nonprofits, took place last year. The Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) serves as managing partner and an investor in the grant initiative.

“ACT Anaheim is a groundbreaking collaboration of leaders from the business, community and nonprofit sectors who are committed to serving vulnerable youth and families in Anaheim,” said Shelley Hoss, president of OCCF. “By engaging a growing base of funders, we have already exceeded the initial three-year, $3 million goal set by the founding partners by delivering a cumulative $3.5 million in ACT’s first two years. This program is driving true impact and building a foundation for lasting change in Anaheim.”

Congratulations to the following recipients:

  • Anaheim Family YMCA
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County
  • Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim

Disney Sued Over Revoked Club 33 Memebership

33
33

33

84 years old Joseph Cosgrove who is a former member of the very exclusive Club 33 said his membership was revoked after a friend of his auctioned off a guest pass for a children’s charity. Disney Execs say that he misused his membership for years, so it was not the first incident.  What happened was, he had given a guest pass to a friend but she never used it for herself she chose to auction off the pass to benefit a children’s charity. According to Cosgrove he did not know what she did with the pass after he head given it to her. This is against Club 33 rules, according to Disney.

Cosgrove has been a member of the exclusive club for 47 years!

His attorney filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Co. recently in LA Superior Court. They are claiming breach of contract and a few other things.

In case you do not know, Club 33 is a very exclusive members-only club in Disneyland. It is modeled after the VIP lounges that Walt Disney experienced at the 1964 New York World’s FairNot just anyone can become a member. Membership is extremely limited, some people have waited as long as a decade to become a member. If you should be lucky enough to get picked you must pay a $25,000 initiation fee and $11,000 and up in annual fees for use of the restaurant and lounge and other benefits.

Fun Fact: Cosgrove took his wife to the club on their first date.

Disney World bans selfie stick from theme parks

Selfie

Hiya! I’m baaack! I have been a busy little bee lately, did you read my about Deluxe Dining from earlier? There is lots and lots of gossip floating around Disney World lately. Today’s gossip is about the controversial, loved and hated, infamous selfie stick! I know some people love them and some people can not stand them. Chippy loves them, you know he is the selfie king! I suspect he is shedding a tear over this right now.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. You may remember we told you about selfie sticks being banned on rides and they are banned in all of Disneyland Paris. My sources tell me that selfie sticks are still a huge problem in all the parks, so Disney might be putting a stop to guests bringing them in the park. Meaning, you will not even get through security with one!

This is supposed to happen at the end of this month… I sure do hope so. Apparently there will be some guest relations CM’s at the front to assist security with the selfie stick dilemma. If you a guest does bring one in they will have a few options. They can choose to leave with it, or they can leave with guest relations and they will store it and give the guest a ticket so that they can pick it up when they are leaving.

*Update – It has been confirmed by Disney Execs that starting June 30th selfie sticks will be banned from both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.

2016 Disney Deluxe Dining Plan May No Longer Include an Appetizer

disney dining plan changes 2015 665x385
disney dining plan changes 2015 665x385

disney-dining-plan-changes-2015-665x385

Hello my royal subjects, it is I Anonymouse! How is everyone today? It’s always a good day for me when I have some Disney Gossip to share. Some gossip is good and some is not so good. Today the gossip is not so good. We know every year things change and prices go up and what we get for our money goes down. In 2016 if you get the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan you may no longer be able to get an appetizer. So as per the usual the price will go up and what you get will go down. From what I  was told everything else will be the same for the most part.

The age old question that every one asks is “Is the Dining Plan worth it“? I think it is. But you have to figure out your budget, how much do you think will or can eat in a day, (cause the portions are quite large). Another thing that is huge for most people is convenience of the dining plan. You do not have to budget out money for meals and worry about who is spending what on what they order. All you have to do is order what you want and scan your MagicBand, real life should be that easy!

Remember nothing is official until the head cheese says so!
