Alleged Disney Ticket Scammer Arrested

Ronald A. Oropesa, 22 years old, was arrested in Boulder, Colorado on Tuesday. It is alleged that he scammed someone who bought Disney tickets from him on Craigslist.

Boulder police say that he posed as a female on Craigslist, selling tickets to Disney for $175.00 each. The victim met him and paid over $1000 in cash for 6 tickets.

The victim then called Disney, after she bought the tickets, and was told that the tickets were expired and were already used.

Please be on the lookout for similar scams.

New Tangled Reold through Emoji Video

Disney has yet again used the power of emoji to tell a beloved Disney story! This time the emoji act out the tale of Tangled!

Disney Interactive has collaborated with Walt Disney Animation Studios and Tangled producer Roy Conli to create this adorable piece of animation. This video is the second installment of the Disney As Told By Emoji series. This new collection of videos retells favorite Disney Stories, by re-imagining the well known heroes and villains as cute emoji characters. The first installment of the series kicked off in February with the popular Frozen As Told By Emoji.

If you just can’t resist getting in on your own Disney Emoji fun, never fear, Disney Gif has you covered! Disney Gif is a mobile keyboard extension app that lets users send themed gifs and emojis of their favorite stories and characters via text, email, and other messaging and social platforms. Tangled gifs are now available, and Tangled emojis will be available soon!

I don’t know about you but my family and I are spending most of our days at the community pool. Dumplin’ Movie is in Development by Walt Disney Studios

The Walt Disney Studios has acquired the movie rights to the young adult novel, by Julie Murphy, titled “Dumplin'”. The novel scheduled for publication on September 15, 2015, is the story of an overweight, yet confident teenaged girl named Dumplin’. While working at a local fast food spot, she meet a former jock and the mutual attraction begins. When Dumplin’ starts to lose her confidence and doubt herself, she decides to get it back by showing the world that big girls can do anything skinny girls can. Entering a beauty pageant is the most horrific thing she can imagine as a big girl and enter is what she does.

Can Dumplin’ win back her confidence and the pageant? I can’t wait to find out.

Downtown Disney Rape Suspect Caught

The suspect in a possible rape at Downtown Disney was arrested at his home in Osceola County Florida yesterday.

Hector M. Herrera a 26-year-old man was arrested on a sexual battery warrant Thursday afternoon. He was taken to Osceola County Jail where he bonded out that evening. He is facing a charge of sexual battery on a physically incapacitated person at the House of Blues at Downtown Disney.

There were surveillance pictures of him leaving the House of Blues last week and he was identified when someone called authorities.

“The investigation remains active and open,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release Thursday afternoon. “We will release more information just as soon as it becomes available.”

He does have a previous arrest in 2012 for possession of cannabis in Osceola County, according to court records.

Update: The suspect is a Disney Employee and is on unpaid leave after being arrested for the possible rape. He was found Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Service Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force.

A Disney spokeswoman would not say how long or where Herrera worked at the theme park

At 1:39 a.m., the surveillance video showed Herrera go up to the victim right after her friends left. They began dancing and he was making sexual gestures. They then left together 13 minutes later. He was holding her around the waist and she was leaning on him.

He did confess to having sex with her. He described her as stumbling with him out to his car, but before they reached the parking lot, she stopped him,” records state. “After the ‘heat of the moment’ subsided, he realized he had made a mistake.” He said he tried to get the woman dressed, but she was “too out of it,” so he left her in the bushes, records show.

He does have prior arrests and has been ticketed for speeding.

He is the father of a 5-year-old girl.

Our favorite team of heroes will be coming to the small screen this fall! I can’t wait to add this Blu-Ray to my Marvel movie collection! Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Chris Evans as Captain America. Together with Black Widow and Hawkeye, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction.

Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen.

Disney Store unveils all-new collections and Limited Editions at this year’s D23 EXPO 2015

Disney Store announced the all-new collections and Limited Editions set to launch at this year’s D23 EXPO 2015, Disney’s ultimate fan event held at the Anaheim Convention Center August 14–16. Located within the Disney Consumer Products Pavilion at D23 EXPO, the Disney Store shop will feature new and exclusive products showcased throughout more than 3,000 sq. ft. of retail space. New items celebrating everyone’s favorite characters will be unveiled each day throughout the weekend.

In addition to offering attendees the chance to shop special products not yet available to the general public, fans will also have the chance to meet the artists and designers who created these exciting new collections and be treated to the official Disney Store opening ceremony on Friday, August 14. During the ceremony, a special attendee will be chosen to “unlock imagination” at 9 a.m. alongside some of Disney’s most famous characters.

D23 EXPO attendees will get a first look at collections making their debut at the event, including the next installment of the popular Disney Fairytale Designer Collection; a Limited Edition Doll Collection from ABC Studios’ television series Once Upon a Time; Toy Story 20^th Anniversary; and Disney Tsum Tsum.

Highlights of the new collections include:

Disney Fairytale Designer Collection – Happily ever after meets happily evil in Disney Store’s newest series of the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection being previewed at D23 EXPO. Featuring five sets of Limited Edition pairs, these collector doll sets were designed by Disney Store artists and carefully crafted to capture the beauty and romance of fairytale friends and foes.

Available for the first time at D23 EXPO, guests can pre-purchase the complete set of five Hero/Villain pairs prior to the general public pre-sale beginning online Monday, September 14.

Following the preview at D23 EXPO, the doll sets will be released and available for purchase in stores and online starting September 29, with a new pair released each week. Each set is limited to an edition of 6,000 globally and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

This line expands into a collection of apparel, mugs, journals, home décor and more, available to the general public in stores and online on September 14.

Once Upon a Time – Continuing the ‘heroes and villains’ theme, Disney Store will introduce the Once Upon a Time Snow White and Evil Queen Doll Collection, available exclusively at D23 EXPO. Limited to an edition of 300, the doll collection, inspired by ABC Studios’ television series Once Upon a Time, brings to life the beauty, magic and charm of the iconic fairytale characters from the show.

Exclusively for guests who purchase the doll set at D23 EXPO, Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White) and Lana Parrilla (The Evil Queen) will be available for an autograph signing at the ABC booth on the D23 EXPO floor from 4 – 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 15. This special opportunity will be followed by the Once Upon a Time panel taking place in Stage 23 from 6 – 7 p.m.

Star Wars – Disney Store will launch an exclusive collection of Star Warsitems at the EXPO on Friday, August 14. The collection will feature apparel, collectibles, and toys, including the Star Wars Elite Series, a new line of highly articulated and detailed die cast action figures, representing characters from Star Wars Episodes I-VI. The action figures will be sold individually at Disney Store locations beginning later this year; however, EXPO attendees have the opportunity to purchase the full set of Star Wars Elite Series action figures, which includes D23 EXPO-exclusive versions of R2-D2 and C-3PO.

Additionally at D23 EXPO, Disney Store will introduce Star Wars Legion Helmets, a series of eight vinyl collectible helmets inspired by the Star Wars Legion Helmet projectlaunched in early 2014. Celebrating creativity and Star Wars, the project pulled together artists from across The Walt Disney Company, resulting in 300 stormtrooper helmets being transformed into diverse pieces of art, which inspired these collectible recreations – epic additions to every Empire.

Toy Story 20th Anniversary – In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Disney∙Pixar’s Toy Story, Disney Store gleaned art from the adored film’s archives to illustrate the evolution of the beloved characters, Buzz and Woody. Featuring toys, collectibles, apparel and more, this collection will be released at the Disney Store shop at D23 EXPO on Friday, August 14.

Disney Tsum Tsum – All-new collections of everyone’s favorite stackable plush will be unveiled at D23 EXPO, with one releasing each day in limited quantities in mini, medium and large sizes. In addition, limited-edition mini box series – exclusive to D23 EXPO – will be released along with each collection, and a Mickey Mouse Tsum Tsum mini vinyl figure will be available for $5 with any purchase, while supplies last.

Also launching at D23 EXPO is Disney Store’s “Disney 3D Print Studio,” which offers fans the chance to personalize figures, including Marvel’s Iron Man, with their likeness through the use of facial-scanning kiosks. The figures ordered at the event will feature packaging unique to D23 EXPO.

New this year, in an effort to minimize wait times for guests, D23 is introducing StorePass at select D23 EXPO shopping locations, including the Disney Store shop. A limited quantity ofStorePass tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, and while they last, at the StorePass desk located adjacent to the StagePass distribution area in Hall A. Suspects in the Disneyland Paris Ticket Scam Arrested

Monday the French authorities arrested 2 suspects accused of reselling tickets for Disneyland Paris that they got by using someone else’s credit card. They were caught at the entrance to the park.

This scam cost Disney 600,000 euros ($655,000) in lost revenue.

They bought a large number of tickets online with stolen debit cards and then resold them to people, according to the police. Disney originally filed the complaint in August 2014.

Investigators are now monitoring purchases made on Disneyland Paris’s site. They have people at the park entrance to stop this from potentially happening again.

The suspects were selling up to 30 tickets a day worth 84 euros each at 35 euros, according to prosecutors.

5 Attractions that I Hope Never Close at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

With an Avatar expansion in the works, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is going to be undergoing some changes and refurbishments over the next few years. All of Disney World, rides are closing, attractions are being updated, and things are changing. I am holding tight to a few of my favorite attractions that I hope never close at Animal Kingdom.

Expedition Everest: Take a journey into the Himalayas and risk a run-in with the Yeti. Expedition Everest is a fun adventure with none of the real danger. Besides the occasionally ride maintenance, I hope Expedition Everest never closes.

Dinosaur: Dinosaur is the one ride left on property that I will still scream out of sheer terror at! In the future, they can update the animatronics if they like, but I hope they keep this attraction open for the adult and teen guests that visit the park. Unless your child if impervious to fear, save this ride for when they are a little older, because if I have my way, it will still be around next time you visit.

Kilimanjaro Safari: For me, this is what Animal Kingdom is all about. The chance to see animals up close is a great opportunity that I hope they keep open for a very long time. I’m sure the animals will need to be replaced as they, um, pass their prime. And I’m sure they will update the ride vehicles and routes eventually, but I don’t see this attraction going anywhere!

The Festival of the Lion King: One of my favorite live-shows on property, the Festival of the Lion King is so just so great. The singing, acrobatics, dancing, and costumes really bring the Lion King to life. As long as guests still adore the Lion King, this attraction is sure to remain in the parks.

Kali River Rapids: I have a love/hate relationship with this ride. I love the twists and turns of the rapids, and I love the thrill it has to offer. I hate when I am the once that gets stuck under the waterfall and I have to wring out my underwear after the ride. Bring a poncho, or a full wet suit if you can swing it, and have fun feeling like a kid again on this attraction.

The Sword In The Stone Is Next In Line As A Live Action Remake

The continuation of Walt Disney Studios quest to remake classics into live-action movies adds The Sword and The Stone to the list.

Brigham Taylor who is also producing the live action version of The Jungle Book will head up production. Bryan Cogman’s script brings the story of a young King Arthur as he is mentored by the wise magician Merlin. The Sword and the Stone, the final movie released before Mr. Disney’s death is loosely based on the novel by T.H. White and part of the series The Once and Future King.

Walt Disney’s recent projects in various stages of development include Genie, Prince Charming along with the classics – Dumbo, Pinocchio, Mulan, and one of my favorite, Tink.
