Disney Lipstick

Attention all Disney Princesses! LA Splash Cosmetics just launched a new line of lipsticks that are inspired by Disney leading ladies. These shades are perfect for a day in the parks, shopping with friends, or a date night out.

The line includes 12 different shades, so I’m sure that you will be able to find an obsession worthy color. I am totally loving the Belle, Aurora, Duchess, and Lady colors. All of the lipsticks are waterproof, which is perfect for a leading lady’s busy lifestyle.

From the bright, rich purple inspired by Esmeralda, to the neutral of Nala, to dark and mysterious Evil Queen, this line has something for every personality, occasion, and skin tone.

I think Belle would be great for an everyday color to wear to work, Ariel would be really fun for cocktail hour, and then Lady for a night on the town with your favorite Prince Charming.

Each shade is going for as much as $21.00 on Amazon, but I found them here for $14.50 a piece.

What shade is your favorite out the collection? Tell me your thoughts in the comments!

Disney XD has ordered “Lab Rats: Elite Force,” a spin-off of its two popular live-action comedy series, “Lab Rats: Bionic Island” and “Mighty Med.” It was announced today by Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide. Reprising their starring roles on their respective series are Billy Unger as Chase and Bradley Steven Perry as Kaz, Jake Short as Oliver, Paris Berelc as Skylar, and Kelli Berglund as Bree. Production will begin in October and is scheduled to premiere in 2016.

Bonnett said, “Disney XD is bringing together some of its most popular stars to assemble a super-sized series that will appeal to fans of both shows.” He added, “Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore have been at the helm of delivering event programming for our viewers, and we’re excited that they will continue to develop these imaginative worlds and characters that audiences have come to love.”

Merging the two series, “Lab Rats: Elite Force” is set in the “Lab Rats” world after the Mighty Med hospital is destroyed by a band of unknown super-villains. Kaz, Oliver and Skylar join forces with Chase and Bree to form a powerful elite force that combines bionic abilities and superpowers. Together, they vow to track down the villains and keep the world safe.

In a recent crossover episode, “Lab Rats vs. Mighty Med” (7/22/15) scored a 1-year “Lab Rats” high in Total Viewers (1.3 million) while the special was “Mighty Med”s #1 telecast of all time in Total Viewers and its #2 telecast ever in target Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11 demographics. The special ranked a dominant #1 in its time slot across target Kids 6-11, Boys 6-11, Kids 2-11 and Boys 2-11 demographics and was the #3 original scripted cable TV series telecast in Total Viewers.*

Review of DisneyNature’s Monkey Kingdom

Monkey Kingdom DVD

A little background, DisneyNature brings us the story of Maya and her family on Digital HD, DMA and Blue-ray combo pak. Ready just in time for the fall season, Monkey Kingdom will be available on September 15, 2015. Order your copy and Disneynature will donate a portion of the first-week’s sales to the Conservation International to help protect endangered species in their natural habitats.

Monkey Kingdom, narrated by Tina Fey, introduces us to Maya and her baby. Set in the ancient ruins in the jungles of South Asia, Maya and her extended family share their lives and struggles as they try to survive in the all too real animal world. Full of amazing footage and sometimes hilarious moments, Monkey Kingdom shows that no matter where you stand in the family tree, you are important and can do your part to help out.

If you are into animals and nature than you will love this installment in the DisneyNature series. Honestly, I had doubts that I would be able to watch it all the way through. I was pleasantly surprised, but than again it is made by Disney. This movie is cute, touching, and funny all rolled into one. I do like that is was narrated by Tina Fey. I would not have expected that, but I do love her. Basically you get to follow the moneys around their home in Sri Lanka. It is interesting seeing them in their natural habitat. They have to deal with some of the same issues that we do but just a tad bit different. Some if it does seem a bit staged, but that might just be the Disney magic! Them crashing the kids birthday party was the best. This is great for kids and family movie night. It is also educational. Does it get any better than educational and fun?

Last but not least the bonus features:

Tales from the kingdom: Check out what it took to film the movie

On the set of Money Kingdom with Jane Goodall and Wolfgang Dittus: The famous Jane Goodall talks on the set

DisneyNature Monkey Kingdom the Conservation Story: Tells us about conservation efforts and how they are helping merge the world of wildlife with the human world.

It’s our World Music Video performed by Jackie Lee and A special thank you from DisneyNature

I give this move a B –

Wishing you Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust

Why You Should Book At Least One Character Meal at Disney World

TGIF Characters
TGIF Characters

TGIF Characters

Character Meals at Disney World are the best in my book – nothing is better than getting to meet and mingle with a bunch of characters – and when you add food to that, well – I’m a happy camper! But, as with everything else, there are a few downsides to character meals – they tend to be crowded and loud, and full of families and kids running everywhere – which I know can turn some people off of them. If you’re someone who doesn’t like character meals or has had a bad experience at one in the past, I urge you to read on, and check out my reasons why you should book at least one character meal for your next WDW trip:

The Food: The cuisine at character meals is among the best I’ve had at Disney World – The Crystal Palace offers a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and all meals offer freshly prepared dishes and some unique items you can’t find anywhere else (like Pooh’s Breakfast Lasagna). If buffets aren’t your favorite, then don’t worry – there are some great table service character meals out there too – like Cinderella’s Royal Table – melt in your mouth prime rib at dinner, plus some amazing breakfast choices too – like quiche, lobster and crab crepes, and cream cheese stuffed French toast. Garden Grill in Epcot serves up a “family style” dinner – which means they bring platters of items off a set menu to your table (and they will bring refills too!) for you to enjoy, and in this case it’s items like fresh, warm bread, roasted turkey, fresh fish, and fresh vegetables. You can even order wine made with organically grown grapes here! Bottom line is – the food at character meals is awesome – and it comes in more forms than just a buffet

The Characters: Obviously at a character meal, you expect to see characters (duh!), but instead of having to wait in a long line in the blazing sun and then getting to meet only 1 (or MAYBE 2 if you’re lucky) character – these meals bring them to you! That’s right – the characters circulate around to all the tables, and there’s usually around 3-5 different ones at any given meal. It might take a while (usually an hour or so), but they WILL come to your table – so sit back, relax, and enjoy your food, and when the characters come closer make sure you have your cameras and autograph books ready! Character meals are a great place to get to meet several characters at once, and bonus – you’re inside, sitting down and enjoying a meal all at the same time!

The Experience: No matter how old you are, there’s always that bit of anticipation when you spot your favorite character. Maybe as you get older you don’t jump up and down and shout “OMG IT’S MICKEY!!!!” (or maybe you do?), but either way, it’s exciting to get to see these famous characters that you have loved watching in movies and cartoons. Aside from meeting the characters, the cast members always play along too – telling you who the characters are that you will get to meet, asking you who is your favorite – it’s a great time for everyone. At places like Cinderella’s Royal Table, they even treat you like “royalty” as you are called for your table, and then they have a whole fanfare to announce the arrival of the Princesses. Even if characters aren’t your thing – it’s hard not to get caught up in the excitement that is a WDW character meal

If you STILL aren’t convinced, then you should also check out my top 5 reasons why Character meals rule – and hopefully after that, you’ll be 100% convinced that booking a character meal is the right choice – because who doesn’t want yummy food, adorable characters, and an awesome overall dining experience? Blue Bayou

Halloween time at the Disneyland Resort is almost here and that means Mickey’s Halloween Party! This year at the party you can reserve a premium dining experience called Mystical Spirits of the Blue Bayou. You’ll enjoy a 3-course New Orleans dinner, live entertainment with Dr. Facilier, and priority seating for the Halloween Screams Fireworks spectacular!

The enchantment begins under the twinkling stars and eternal twilight of the Blue Bayou Restaurant, where the chefs have conjured up a voodoo-licious dinner just for the occasion. You’ll start with your choice of appetizer: a delicious Bayou crab cake or melted goat cheese Bon Coeur Tart. While live performers entertain your eyes and ears, your other senses will be captivated by your choice of one of three entrees: Braised Bayou Short Ribs, Bourbon-Glazed Chicken Breast, or Red Fish. Finish your feast with either a dark chocolate crème brûlée with salted caramel macaroon, or an almond praline cheesecake with petit honey beignets—plus a tempting selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

As you’re enjoying your feast, the Shadow Man will make his way around the tables to make sure your dinner is as delightful as it is delicious. Keep your eye out for other performers like the Cadaver Dans and mischievous pirates. When the dining concludes you’ll  be given a special amenity by Dr. Facilier and his “boogie” men and women—a beautiful, frame-worthy lithograph of original artwork by Disney Animator Eric Goldberg.

To top off the night, you’ll be escorted by the Ghoul Control to a reserved area in Central Plaza for priority viewing of the Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular. Jack Skellington, the “Master of Scare-emonies”, presides over the pyrotechnic spectacular. You’ll get to see other villains as well, like Maleficent, Ursula, and Oogie Boogie.

Important things to know: you must already have purchased a ticket to Mickey’s Halloween Party for the day you want to reserve this dining experience. Price is $150.00 per adult/child (tax and gratuity included) and must be paid in full at the time of booking. Southern California Man Made it to the Winners Circle at the Disneyland Half Marathon

disneyland half marathon
disneyland half marathon

James Lander from Fullerton, Calif. ran and won his first runDisney race this morning at the 10th annual Disneyland Half Marathon presented by Cigna. He led beat 15,000 runners and crossed the finish line more than six minutes ahead of the second place winner from Sao Paulo, Brazil, 35-year-old Valdir Aparecido Bueno.

Lander, 36, used to stand on the sidelines and watch his wife run multiple runDisney races but decided this time, he wanted to get in on the action. So he did. And won, finishing in 1:08:56

“I’ve loved this race, even though I had never done it before, because everyone has an amazing time,” said Lander. “I see people laughing and smiling the entire way versus most races where everyone looks like they are killing themselves. It’s a special thing! It’s really great!”

Lander has run competitively for years. He’s a local chiropractor and claims that running  “is just part of what chiropractors do.” He used to be on a professional marathon team, winning many times, but now runs a couple of half marathons and local races a year to support the community.

Momoko Tanaka, 29, from Urayasu-shi, Japan, wrote her own chapter in the race’s annals today coming in first place for the women, finishing in 1:21:30. This is the first time in the race’s 10 year history that an international runner has won. Tanaka finished just ahead of last year’s female champion, Jennifer Berry, 34, from Denver, Colo.  Berry crossed the finish line in 1:23:21, beating her prior year’s time by 12 seconds.

All half marathon finishers take home unique 10th annual medals to commemorate the occasion. More than  400 “legacy’’ runners ran this weekend, completing all 10 Disneyland Half Marathons since the inaugural race in 2006.  The half marathon traveled through Disney California Adventure Park, Disneyland Park, the streets of Anaheim and Angel Stadium.

Runners celebrated Thursday night with a Disneyland Half Marathon 10th Annual party.  Guests experienced select attractions, Disney entertainment and character meet & greets in Disneyland Park West Side.  As the event coincides with Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration, the party gave runners exclusive viewing of Disneyland’s “Paint the Night” Parade which is part of the 60th anniversary celebration.

More than 29,000 runners from across the nation and 28 countries gathered in Southern California to celebrate the 10th annual Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. The weekend of events also included the Disneyland 5K, runDisney Kids Races and the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo.
