Disney Dining Reservation Assistance Site Has Been Shut Down

I am sure you have seen or heard or even used some of these new services/sites that have been popping that claim they can help you in getting that hard to get dining reservation that you want so bad. Well, one had already been shut down by Disney!

Disney Dining Buddy recently announced on their Facebook page that they will no longer be in operation. They claim they will issuing refunds.

A little background, these sites charge a small fee for them to be on the lookout 24/7, they claim, for your reservation. Many complaints have been coming in to Disney about these services because they are taking up reservations needlessly and fraudulently. I do like how Disney handled the situation, quickly and efficiently. I think this serves as further proof that Disney truly does care about their guests.

It appears as though some of the other sites are still operating, as of right now but I would imagine it’s a matter of time till they are gone as well.

The Halloween season is here so many of you are thinking about costume options for your little princess. If your little one is between the ages of 3 – 12 the “Disney Frozen Package” is an adorable option. Who does not love Frozen?

You can pick from Elsa or Anna. You get hairstyling and a costume with either choice. Your little princess will get the royal treatment which includes, shimmering makeup, nail polish, face gem, a princess sash and cinch bag, last but not least a 12 inch plush Olaf.

Guests must be between 3-12 years of age and must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older during the entire experience. Costume select and sizing may vary and certain accessories are sold separately. No discounts apply unless otherwise noted. Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior arrival. A valid accepted credit card number is required at the time of booking. A $10 cancellation fee will be applied to such credit card for all no-shows or if reservation ins cancelled within 24 hours of experience. Subject to restrictions. Disney Salutes U.S. Military with Special Ticket and Room Rates for 2016

Today Disney announced a new special pricing on theme park tickets and accommodations for active duty U.S. military personnel at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

Here’s a look at the details:

At Walt Disney World Resort – from September 25, 2015 through December 16, 2016, active and retired U.S. military personnel (including active and retired members of the United States Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists) or their spouses can purchase:

Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Park Hopper Option for $196 each, plus tax
Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Water Park Fun and More Option for $196 each, plus tax
Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More Options for $230 each, plus tax.

Walt Disney World Resort tickets may be used January 3, 2016, through December 19, 2016, except that the tickets may not be used March 20, 2016 – April 1, 2016.

The 20th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Opens today with hundreds of wine tastings, parties, culinary demos, where to begin? Hosts of ABC’s “The Chew” will be there (October 7-9) to tape five episodes of the show, and two cool new Chew-themed marketplaces stretch the festival into Future World for the first time, with 30 marketplaces for sips and tastes of food from around the globe, two wines celebrating 20 years created just for the festival!

New Backstage ‘Flavor Lab’ Coming Soon to Disney World

I have often wondered how Disney decides what dishes make it on to the menu. I am sure many of you have thought the same thing from time to time.

Have you heard about the new behind the scenes, “Flavor Lab” at Disney World? This will consist of Disney Word Chefs, managers, sommeliers, mixologists and more in this new and incredible 7000 square foot state-of-the-art research and development facility. The “Flavor Lab” will house new products, packaging etc. for food and drink service across Disney World Resorts and Parks.

It will open in October but unfortunately this is not open to the public.

“With increasing new projects, we needed space,” says Jean-Marie Clement, director, Food & Beverage Concept Development. “This new facility will provide a professional, creative and collaborative workspace for sharing and showcasing new ideas, concepts and best practices.”

Nearly three years in the making, about 18 culinary, front of house and project design team members will work there full time, but the building will be bustling. “When we open a new concept, we’ll be able to train cast members on new equipment,” says Jean-Marie. “We can test a new equipment and keep up with trends and technology.”

We Must Say Good Bye to Duffy the Disney Bear

First, let me say that our girl Anonymouse hit the nail on the head yet again. It is official that Duffy the Disney Bear will no longer be at Epcot. His last day is October 3rd. I know it’s so sad, I love Duffy! He has been around for 5 years now. Not long enough in my opinion. So make sure you head on over and get your final pictures with Duffy before he is just a memory. I hope you got some Duffy merchandise because that has also been removed from store shelves. His replacement will be Daisy Duck.

It is said the nightly bed time story will still be around on Disney Resort TV.

Downtown Disney Will Officially Become Disney Springs on September 29th

On Tuesday, September 29th, Downtown Disney will officially become Disney Springs. There will be a ceremony on Tuesday to celebrate the grand re-naming. The new Disney Springs will resemble a 20th century town in Florida. The new expansion includes new stores, new restaurants, 2 parking garages with 6,000 parking spots. The whole project will be done in 2016. However, there will be openings happening between now and then.

I am sure most of you know that the new name has been slowly implemented for a little while now. The signs on I-4 already say Disney Springs and not Downtown Disney.

Tuesday’s name-change event will be at Waterview Park 5 p.m. Tuesday.

This launch is especially exciting because mobile has consistently been the most popular platform for Disney Infinity in terms of the number of players, and the overall engagement of the community. In fact, mobile players upload and download more Disney Infinity Toy Boxes through mobile devices and tablets than on any other platform.
