Test Track 3.0 is Racing Toward the Future—And Women in Construction Are in the Driver’s Seat!
The next generation of Test Track is coming to EPCOT, and Disney is hard at work bringing this high-speed reimagining to life! In honor of Women in Construction Week, Walt Disney Imagineering shared a behind-the-scenes look at the project, following Project Engineer Carleigh through a day of working on Test Track 3.0.
In the video, Carleigh gives us a pit stop tour of the ride in its stripped-down, work-in-progress state. She walks up to the round, silver-paneled show building, passing scaffolding surrounding the ride’s exterior track—a clear sign that big changes are underway!
Inside, the queue area looks completely transformed, with bare concrete floors, plain white walls, and little remaining from the previous iteration except for some familiar curved silver handrails. The video wraps up with Carleigh standing at the ride’s final section, next to a mesh metal wall and staircase, hinting at even more changes coming to the ride’s finale experience.
This third major overhaul of Test Track is set to reopen in late summer 2025 and will pay homage to the original World of Motion, which operated from 1982 to 1996 before Test Track 1.0 took over in 1999. With this new version, General Motors is reclaiming sponsorship from Chevrolet, potentially bringing some retro-futuristic vibes back into the mix!
For now, all we can do is buckle up and wait, but one thing’s for sure—Test Track 3.0 is revving up to be an exciting ride into the future! 🚗💨
To Infinity and Beyond: Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Gets a Galactic Upgrade!
Calling all Junior Space Rangers! It looks like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom just got a much-needed tech upgrade, and it’s not just a mirage in hyperspace. After 26 years of intergalactic battles, Disney has replaced the film projectors in the climactic tunnel scene with modern digital projectors, making Zurg’s evil schemes (and the cosmic scenery) crisper and brighter than ever.
Back in December, Disney filed a permit for the new projectors and enlisted Maddox Electric Company, a longtime collaborator, to handle the installation. Now, the tunnel sequence—where Emperor Zurg’s menacing ship looms against the vastness of space—looks sharper than a Space Ranger’s aim.
So, Rangers, it’s time to grab your blaster, spin your XP-37 star cruiser, and take aim at Zurg’s glowing “Z” targets. With these new projectors making the battle feel more dynamic than ever, your high score dreams may finally take flight!
Now go forth, defend the galaxy, and don’t let Zurg get a single battery! 🚀🔫✨
First Look Inside the New Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern at Magic Kingdom
Ahoy, Disney fans! Walt Disney Imagineering has been hard at work bringing an all-new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern to Magic Kingdom, and we’ve just gotten our first peek inside thanks to a new behind-the-scenes video. The sneak preview, shared on Instagram by Walt Disney Imagineering, gives a glimpse of the ongoing construction and an exciting full-circle moment for one of the Imagineers working on the project.
In the video, Montse, an Assistant Producer for Disney Imagineering, shares how she started as a Cast Member at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction before transitioning to Imagineering, where she now helps bring the new pirate lounge to life. The footage showcases different areas of the tavern, including the bar area and the Captain’s Quarters, both of which are still under construction. While walls are framed and electrical and plumbing work is in progress, the vision for this pirate hideaway is starting to take shape.
One of the most exciting details revealed? The return of the legendary Barker Bird, also known as Peg-Leg Pete! This beloved Audio-Animatronic parrot originally sat outside the attraction’s entrance, entertaining guests with pirate banter before being removed in 2006 during the ride’s update to include Captain Jack Sparrow. Fans have long speculated about his return, and now it’s official—Barker Bird will take his new perch above the tavern’s bar area, bringing a bit of nostalgia and pirate charm to the space.
The Pirates of the Caribbean tavern is being built near the attraction’s exit and is expected to open in late 2025. While Disney has yet to reveal details about the menu or theme, this new watering hole is already shaping up to be an exciting addition to Adventureland.
Will you be stopping by for a swashbuckling sip when this new pirate hideaway opens? Let us know in the comments! 🏴☠️🍻
CommuniCore Hall Blooms with 30 Years of Floral Celebration at EPCOT
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival has officially blossomed into its 30th year, and CommuniCore Hall is at the heart of the celebration! This newly opened space is a vibrant hub, offering guests an immersive experience into the magic behind Disney’s horticultural artistry.
Stepping inside CommuniCore Hall is like entering a floral wonderland. Brightly colored faux flowers burst from planters, while walls adorned with decals of tall grasses and blossoms immediately immerse visitors in the festival’s cheerful atmosphere. The familiar EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival logo is prominently displayed, setting the stage for the horticultural journey within.
The hall itself is festively decorated, with lush plants, swaying palm trees, and vibrant banners creating a celebratory ambiance. Overhead, circular lighting fixtures echo the floral wreath art seen on the Festival Passport, unifying the visual theme. Comfortable seating areas invite guests to relax and soak in the atmosphere.
Topiary displays, a hallmark of the festival, line the walls, showcasing whimsical creations of fruits and vegetables. Themed festival banners hang from the ceiling, adding to the festive flair. A small informational sign offers insights into the festival’s history and horticultural practices. Banners proudly proclaim “30 Years and Growing,” featuring the beloved Orange Bird soaring above a bounty of fruits and vegetables, a testament to the festival’s enduring legacy.
At the center of CommuniCore Hall, Spike the Bee takes center stage in a stunning topiary display. Surrounded by large planters overflowing with diverse plants and flowers, Spike embodies the buzzing energy of the festival.
Guests can also indulge their culinary senses at the nearby EPCOT Farmers Feast outdoor kitchen, offering a delightful array of food and beverages. This seasonal kiosk, available from March 5 through April 5, 2025, provides a delectable taste of the festival’s flavors.
A captivating display case inside CommuniCore Hall chronicles the history of Disney character topiaries, detailing their introduction years and locations throughout the park. A maquette of Bo Peep, who joined the festival in 2019, is featured, alongside Anna and Elsa, and the returning Phineas and Ferb, who make a triumphant comeback after an eight-year absence. The display also highlights Figment, a festival favorite since 2017.
Adding to the wealth of information, along the opposite wall is a display titled “The EPCOT Festival 2025 Almanac,” featuring Spike the Bee and Orange Bird. The reverse side of this display delves into the origins of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, offering a deeper understanding of its rich history.
A display on the right, labeled “Feather Forecast,” illuminates the incredible journey of purple martins, birds that make an annual visit to the festival. Flipping this display reveals “Flower Towers,” an explanation of the stunning vertical floral displays that punctuate the EPCOT landscape.
CommuniCore Hall is more than just a space; it’s an interactive celebration of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival’s 30-year legacy. It’s a place where guests can learn, relax, and immerse themselves in the beauty and artistry that makes this festival a beloved annual tradition.
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival runs from March 5 through June 2, 2025!
Last night we attended the Disneyland After Dark 90s Nite event. From rare characters to sweet treats, we had a pretty rad experience!

There were so many eats and drinks available for purchase, there was no way we could try them all! Here’s what we did get and what our rating is:
PB&J Beignet: This was a regular beignet filled with jam and dusted with peanut butter powdered sugar. It took us back to our school days eating PB&J for lunch. Delicious and 8 out of 10.
Sugar Cookies with Vanilla Confetti Dipping Sauce: These were served warm and were some of the best cookies we’ve had in a long time! The dipping sauce was literally the frosting on top of this snack experience. 10 out of 10.
Campfire Donut Skewer: Two donuts and two marshmallows on a skewer and drizzled with chocolate sauce. We have had better donuts from a convenience store. Did not enjoy these. 4 out of 10.
Sour Fruit Candy Churro: Disneyland always does a great job with specialty churros and this was no exception. Rolled in colorful sugar, drizzled with fruit sauce, and topped with little candies (most likely Nerds), this churro hit the spot! 9 out of 10.
Unbeknownst to us, the line for merchandise began hours before the event officially started with some guests being given wristbands allowing them to return later to purchase. We did not get our hands on any merchandise but there were multiple items exclusive to the event.
90s Nite Long-Sleeve Crew Neck
90s Nite short-Sleeve T-Shirt
Multiple pins
90s Nite event pin
Max Goof mug
A Goofy Movie Loungefly Mini Backpack
90s Character sketches (Powerline Max, Zurg, Timon, Quasimodo, etc)
All of the merchandise sold out except for a few select pins.
Almost all of the characters available to meet were listed on the Disneyland website along with the event guide. There were 2 characters not listed that were out meeting guests; Flik and Atta from A Bug’s Life! In total, there were a possible 26 characters to meet. There was also no way we could meet all of the characters during the event so we chose our priorities. Here are the characters we met:
Monkeys from Fantasmic (there were 4 total and they met guests in pairs)
Indiana Jones
Flik & Atta
Monterey Jack
Darkwing Duck
Scrooge McDuck
Launchpad McQuack
Huey, Dewey, and Louie
Baloo
Clopin
There were multiple entertainment spots throughout the park. Goofy and Max DJ’d a dance party in Tomorrowland. A DJ played 90s tunes from Tom Sawyer Island. There were two performances of “90s on parade” which showcased some favorite Disney parades from the 90s. 90s music was also playing throughout the park for guests to enjoy.
Overall, we enjoyed our evening at 90s Nite. There were multiple instances of miscommunication from Disney to guests regarding character meet & greets as well as purchasing merchandise. If you want to meet rare characters and enjoy some music from your favorite decade, this would be a great event for you. Otherwise, you could probably skip this after hours event.
Have Sunshine In A Bag With The Orange Bird Flower and Garden Dooney and Bourke Collection!
Alright, let’s talk about the cutest merch drop at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival 2025: the Orange Bird Flower and Garden Dooney and Bourke collection. Seriously, if you’re a Disney fan and a bag lover, you’re gonna wanna snag one of these.
First up, we’ve got the Orange Bird Dooney & Bourke Tote Bag. This bad boy retails for $298, which, yeah, is a splurge, but hear me out. It’s coated cotton, so it’s durable and easy to clean, and it’s got those classic Dooney & Bourke leather finishings that just scream “upscale.” The design is a vibrant citrus dream, with the Orange Bird front and center, practically radiating sunshine.
Plus, it’s a roomy tote, perfect for all your park essentials (and maybe a few extra souvenirs). Oh, and don’t forget the leather tag celebrating the festival’s 30th anniversary – a sweet little detail that makes it extra special.
Now, if you’re more of a crossbody kinda person, they’ve got you covered with the Orange Bird Dooney & Bourke Crossbody Bag. This one’s a bit smaller, coming in at $248, but it’s still packed with that signature Dooney & Bourke quality. It’s also coated cotton with leather trimmings, and this time, you’ll spot both Orange Bird and Spike the Bee buzzing around amongst the citrusy pattern. These little guys are just adorable, flitting about on the bag.
It’s a perfect size for keeping your essentials close without being bulky, which is a lifesaver in the parks. And like the tote, it’s got that 30th-anniversary leather tag, so you’re getting a piece of Flower & Garden history.
Finally, for those who like to travel light or just want a super cute small bag, there’s the Orange Bird Dooney & Bourke Camera Bag. At $228, it’s the most budget-friendly of the trio, but it doesn’t skimp on style. Think of it as the perfect little companion for snapping all those Flower & Garden photos. It’s got the same coated cotton and leather finishings, the same adorable Orange Bird and Spike the Bee design, and that commemorative anniversary tag. This one’s ideal for just your phone, wallet, and maybe a lip balm – basically, your essentials for a quick park hop.
So, whether you’re a tote enthusiast, a crossbody fan, or just need a cute little camera bag, this Orange Bird collection is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for some serious cuteness overload!
Bloom and Belong With The New Annual Passholder Flower and Garden Festival Merch!
Alright, passholder pals, let’s talk about the real reason we’re all trekking to Epcot right now: the merch! You know Disney’s gotta give us something special for braving the Florida sun and those festival crowds, and this year’s Annual Passholder Flower and Garden Festival merch is pretty darn cute.
First up, we’ve got the essential park uniform: the white passholder t-shirt. It’s clean, it’s classic, and it screams “I’m a local (or at least, I wish I was).” The front’s got that vibrant festival logo, but the real star is that Mickey silhouette on the back. It’s all green, decked out with floral icons, and then bam! “Passholder” at the bottom, just so everyone knows you’re in the inner circle.
Now, you can’t rock a theme park tee without a matching hat, right? Enter the Mickey Mouse passholder baseball cap. It’s got that cool green brim, which, let’s be honest, is perfect for shielding your eyes from the Florida glare. And of course, it proudly says “Passholder” in light green embroidery.
But the best part? That green chenille Mickey patch on the front. It’s got that retro vibe that’s totally in right now, and it just adds a little something extra to your look. You’ll be spotting fellow passholders from a mile away!
And because we all need our caffeine fix, there’s a super cute mug. One side’s got that same iconic green Mickey silhouette as the shirt, and the other side? It’s a full-on festival celebration. You’ve got the Flower & Garden logo, flowers galore, Mickey again, and even Spaceship Earth thrown in for good measure. It’s basically a mini-Epcot party in your hand. Perfect for your morning coffee or that post-park wind-down.
Last but not least, we’ve got the pins. Because what’s a Disney collection without a few more pins, am I right? This year’s passholder lineup is adorable, featuring some of our favorite characters. We’re talking Simba looking majestic, Pooh probably thinking about honey, Figment being his whimsical self, and even Groot getting in on the floral action. It’s a great little set to add to your pin board or trade with fellow collectors.
So, grab your pass, snag these goodies, and enjoy the festival in style!

It’s got all those surreal Wonderland vibes, perfect for wandering around the flowerbeds and pretending you’re having tea with the Caterpillar. Plus, the bow is detachable!
Now, for the bags, they’ve got this absolutely darling Alice in Wonderland Butterfly Bag. Imagine a turquoise butterfly-shaped bag, how unique is that? It’s got Alice chilling in a garden, the festival logo, and get this – the straps have 3D colorful flowers! Talk about girly glam.
And if you’re a plant parent, you’ll flip for the Alice in Wonderland Caterpillar Planter. It’s got the Caterpillar chilling on a bed of flowers, holding a butterfly, and the festival logo on the back. It’s totally whimsical and a must-have for any garden enthusiast.
Fashionistas, listen up! They’ve got an Alice in Wonderland Rain Jacket in a soothing blue, covered in butterflies, Alice, flowers, and the Caterpillar. Perfect for those Florida showers. And to top it off, grab the Straw Bucket Hat with an embroidered festival logo and butterflies.
For your everyday wear, they’ve got two killer tees. First, a hot pink shirt with an embroidered festival logo on the front and a big graphic on the back featuring Alice, the Caterpillar, butterflies, and flowers. Super vibrant! Then there’s a white ring tee with green details and a blue pocket featuring the festival logo. On the back, you’ll find Caterpillar lounging on flowers with butterflies and Spaceship Earth in the background.
Oh, and don’t forget the Dress T-shirt in green with an all-over butterfly pattern and an Alice patch. Super comfy and cute.
Moving on to drinkware, because hydration is key, right? They’ve got a gorgeous Alice in Wonderland Tea Cup with Saucer featuring iconic Wonderland imagery and the festival logo. Perfect for your afternoon tea at home.
And for something a bit more casual, there’s a glass with Alice artwork on one side and the festival logo on the other.
For home decor, you can add a touch of Wonderland magic with the Alice in Wonderland Decorative Pillow. It’s turquoise, features Alice in a garden, and has the festival logo embroidered on the back. It’s the perfect pop of color for your couch or bed.
And finally, for the ultimate quirky touch, they’ve got the Alice in Wonderland Coaster Set. They look like pieces of bread at first, but surprise! They’re butterfly-shaped coasters. So adorable!
Seriously, Disney’s nailed it with this collection. You’re gonna want it all!
Set Sail for Fun at Playalong Bay: EPCOT’s New Nautical Playground for Flower & Garden Festival
EPCOT’s 2025 Flower & Garden Festival has introduced an exciting new addition for families with the debut of Playalong Bay, a nautically themed playground designed for young adventurers. Located in the covered flex space along Rosewalk, between World Celebration and World Showcase, this interactive play area is the perfect spot for kids to climb, swing, and explore while parents take a well-earned break.
Designed as a tribute to EPCOT resort pools, Playalong Bay takes inspiration from the water-themed play areas found at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. The playground, available for a limited time during the festival through June 2, 2025, celebrates childhood adventures and scenic afternoons by the sea, bringing a little splash of coastal charm to the festival experience.
Playalong Bay isn’t just about climbing and swinging—it’s also packed with whimsical nods to Smucker’s Uncrustables, the official sponsor of the play garden. Themed elements include:
A photo spot that transforms guests into an Uncrustable-eating octopus—perfect for a silly family snapshot.
Smucker’s Uncrustables picnic tables, where parents can relax while kids play.
For those looking for a bit of lore, “The Legend of Playalong Bay” can be found posted in the area. The tale tells of the S.S. Smucker’s, a ship that met an unfortunate fate—sinking beneath a flood of creamy peanut butter and fruity jam! After the crew abandoned ship, the wreckage remained untouched… until now, when it was transformed into a high-seas playground for tiny explorers aged 2-5.
A Playful Oasis with Floral Touches
Since this is the Flower & Garden Festival, it’s only fitting that Playalong Bay is surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful plants, with signs providing their names for budding botanists to enjoy. The mix of fun and nature makes this play area a perfect stop for families who want a little break from walking around EPCOT.
Nearby Outdoor Kitchens: Yacht Grub & Beach Grub
What’s a trip to the shore without delicious food? Just steps from Playalong Bay, two new festival-exclusive Outdoor Kitchens—Yacht Grub and Beach Grub—continue the nautical theme with seafood-inspired dishes and coastal flavors. Whether you’re looking for something light and refreshing or a savory bite, these kitchens offer the perfect complement to the Playalong Bay experience.
Playalong Bay is a must-visit for families attending the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival this year. Whether your little ones are swinging through the wreckage of the S.S. Smucker’s, enjoying an Uncrustables-themed photo op, or you’re grabbing a bite at the nearby outdoor kitchens, this new addition brings a splash of adventure, fun, and a bit of delicious history to the festival. Be sure to stop by before it sails away on June 2, 2025!

Toy Fair 2025 Celebrates Play and Innovation in NYC
Toy Fair 2025 has once again transformed the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center into a wonderland of innovation, imagination, and nostalgia, proving that the toy and game industry is not only thriving but evolving at an unprecedented pace. This year’s event, held from March 1-4, seemingly marked the largest Toy Fair yet. With industry titans such as Mattel, Lego, Bandai Namco, and Hasbro leading the charge, the excitement was palpable as designers, retailers, and fans gathered to witness the latest in entertainment and play.
Among the many milestones celebrated at this year’s fair, none stood out quite like Mattel’s 80th anniversary. The legendary toy manufacturer hosted an expansive and immersive exhibit showcasing its remarkable journey from a small toy company to a global powerhouse. Attendees were treated to a retrospective of beloved classics, from Barbie’s enduring influence to Hot Wheels’ ever-growing appeal. The company also teased future projects, including “You Create Barbie Basics” allowing fans to interact with the iconic brand in a whole new way.
No Toy Fair experience would be complete without exploring the major players in toy and game manufacturing, and this year’s event did not disappoint. Lego’s booth, as always, was a hub of excitement, revealing upcoming sets that continue to merge storytelling, creativity, and engineering. Fans of all ages flocked to preview new collaborations, including fresh takes on popular franchises and original themes that emphasize hands-on creativity.
Ravensburger, known for its high-quality puzzles and board games, showcased a robust lineup of upcoming releases, including expansions for its successful Disney Lorcana trading card game and a host of new tabletop experiences. Their presence at the fair underscored the growing popularity of board gaming as a staple in modern entertainment.
Another exciting reveal at Toy Fair 2025 came from Lionel Trains, which continues to blend nostalgia with modern innovation. Their 2025 catalog promises an incredible lineup of new releases, with one of the biggest surprises being a forthcoming collaboration with Star Wars. This expansion into one of the most beloved franchises in pop culture is expected to bring a fresh wave of excitement to both train collectors and sci-fi fans alike. With intricately designed locomotive sets featuring iconic Star Wars themes, characters, and scenes, Lionel is proving that even a heritage brand can push boundaries and capture new generations of fans.
While the blockbuster manufacturers garnered plenty of attention, some of the most magical moments at Toy Fair came from the smaller, independent studios that showcased their groundbreaking ideas.
