Punchline Punch and Schweitzer Slushie are two signature drinks that can be purchased in signature cups.

Servers will be wearing the same costumes as Jungle Cruise skippers.

There is still time to make plans to experience the special events being conducted in the Walt Disney World Resort in Central Florida in December, such as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park, Holidays Around The World and Candlelight Processional at Epcot, and The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is also the ideal time to check out the transformed Disney Springs area, formerly known as the Downtown Disney area.

The new name took effect September 29, 2015 in recognition of the transitioning to the one-of-a-kind, reimagined Disney Springs, which features new shopping, dining and entertainment venues for your enjoyment. When work is completed in 2016, Disney Springs will have expanded to more than 150 shopping, dining and entertainment venues, in four distinct outdoor neighborhoods, with a high-quality, diverse mix of retailers, entertainment, upscale restaurants, and casual dining options.

A great way to experience these events and new offerings is by taking advantage of the special “Holiday Rates” that are being offered for stays through December 20, 2015 by the seven Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels, formerly known as the Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotels. In addition to their ideal location an easy walk to the shopping, dining and entertainment venues at Disney Springs, these seven “Official Walt Disney World Resort Hotels” also provide complimentary shuttle transportation every 30 minutes to all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks, two water parks, and to Disney Springs.

As a bonus, guests at these hotels also receive the “Downtown Disney Deals” booklet that features exclusive discounts and special offers from over 30 merchants in the Disney Springs area for dining, entertainment and shopping. Among the many coupons featured in the booklet are discounts at Rainforest Café, T-Rex Café, Wolfgang Puck Express, Steve Baker Caricatures, The LEGO Store, Planet Hollywood, House of Blues Restaurant, Splitsville Luxury Lanes, Bongo’s Cuban Café, and Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop.

Frozen Fever as told by Emoji

Frozen emoji

Disney is giving fans an entirely new way to experience the story of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ short, Frozen Fever, with the Frozen Fever as Told by Emoji video. Fans can watch as emoji-fied versions of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and of course, the Snowgies, retell their tale through the simplicity of a messaging thread on a mobile phone. The short film’s popular song “Making Today A Perfect Day,” written by the Academy Award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, is also featured.

“Frozen Fever as Told by Emoji is a great twist on our Frozen Fever short, delivering the story and sentiment that fans love, with the emoji adding an extra element of fun and whimsy,” said Oscar-winning Frozen producer, Peter Del Vecho.

The video is the fourth installment of Disney Interactive’s As Told By Emoji, a new collection of videos that retell popular Disney stories by recasting our favorite characters as emoji living within a mobile phone. The series continues to grow following the wildly popular releases of Frozen As Told By Emoji, Tangled As Told By Emoji and Aladdin As Told By Emoji.

“Disney is always looking for new ways to bring our stories to life,” said Mark Walker, Senior Vice President of Disney Interactive Media. “The As Told by Emoji video series lets us entertain and engage audiences by bringing their favorite tales and characters to digital feeds in ways they haven’t seen before.”

Fans can join in the fun and send their own Frozen Fever emoji by downloading Disney Gif, a mobile app that lets users easily send gifs and emojis of their favorite stories and characters via text, email, and other messaging and social platforms. Frozen Fever gifs and emoji are available now! Disney Gif also features content from Disney’s “Frozen,” “Star Wars”, Marvel, ABC’s “Scandal,” Disney•Pixar’s “Inside Out,” classic Disney films, and much more. Disney Gif is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Check out the cuteness:

Frozen Fever As Told By Emoji is live now, and viewers can look forward to future installments on Disney’s YouTube channel. Additionally, on Sunday, December 6 Frozen Fever As Told By Emoji premieres on Disney Channel during an all-new K.C. Undercover episode at 8P ET/PT.

Cute right?

Check out Some Amazing Experiences in Wyoming that will Bring Disney-Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur” to Life

Wyoming The Good Dinosaur
Wyoming The Good Dinosaur

Wyoming The Good Dinosaur

With Disney-Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur” now in theatres, the Wyoming Office of Tourism is very excited to announce the release of online resources, available at WyomingTourism.org/thegooddinosaur, designed to help visitors plan paleontological experiences in the state.

In the film, an Apatosaurus named Arlo and his human friend, Spot, traverse the beautiful—and at times, challenging—landscape, but Arlo is not the first dinosaur to roam the state. Wyoming is home to some of the best dinosaur fossil fields in the world, and the only state completely overlaying the Morrison Formation, a sequence of Upper Jurassic sedimentary rock known to contain hundreds of dinosaur fossils.

“Fans of Arlo and ‘The Good Dinosaur’ can roam the same areas that real dinosaurs did in pre-historic times, learn about what life was like for these creatures and even dig for dinosaur fossils throughout the state,” said Diane Shober, Executive Director of the Wyoming Office of Tourism. “The film’s setting was inspired by iconic Wyoming landscapes, which helps showcase the state’s deep connections to paleontology.”

Wyoming is home to more than a dozen paleontological museums, dig sites and trails where visitors can admire and even find their own fossils. A few of those sites are included below with a full list and map of locations at WyomingTourism.com/things-to-do/Paleontology.

Wyoming Dinosaur Center – This museum, located in Thermopolis, is home to nearly 80 identified dig sites and more than 30 mounted dinosaur skeletons, many of which were recovered by visitors through the “Dig for Day” program. A dig site tour offers a rare opportunity to see dinosaur footprints, and the Center’s Preparation Lab is open for the public to work alongside paleontologists.

A video highlighting the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and the area’s connections to “The Good Dinosaur” is available, check it out:

The University of Wyoming Geological Museum – A 75-foot Apatosaurus skeleton, discovered in 1901 at Sheep Creek in Albany County, fills the exhibit hall at the University of Wyoming Geological Museum in Laramie. Museum guests can also visit “Big Al,” the most complete Allosaurus fossil ever discovered. The museum also houses a working Prep Lab for visitors to learn about fossil preparation.

Wyoming State Museum – The Wyoming State Museum, located in Cheyenne, is an ideal place for dinosaur fans to get a thorough overview of Wyoming’s paleontological history. “Rex in Pieces” is the museum’s permanent dinosaur exhibit, highlighting the most prehistoric Wyoming creatures. It also features a cast of a full-sized Camptosaurus skeleton, one of the first dinosaurs found in the state.

Tate Geological Museum at Casper College – Paleontologists at the Tate in Casper offer week-long digs where visitors can excavate and collect artifacts. The museum is also home to Lee Rex, the T. rex, and Dee, one of the largest Columbian mammoths ever found, on display.

Glenrock Paleontological Museum – Established when the museum’s director discovered a triceratops at a local ranch, this museum in Glenrock encourages visitors to engage with the staff in the Preparation Lab as they take fossils from the field and prepare them for exhibits.

Photographs from the Walt Disney Archives

On December 5, 2015, what would have been Walt Disney’s 114th birthday, Disney will launch Photographs from The Walt Disney Archives, a new online print-on-demand photo service that will allow fans to own vibrant images from Disney’s rich history, including classic images of the amazing Walt Disney himself.

Iconic photographs, from a young Walt circa 1932 surrounded by more than a dozen plush Mickey Mouse dolls to a shot of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland on opening day in 1955, will be available for purchase in an array of sizes and formats, including photographs and canvas. Each image tells a story, including a rare behind-the-scenes photograph of musicians during the filming of the concert epic Fantasia (1940), as well as a shot of Walt and his staff with the groundbreaking multiplane camera during the 1951 filming of Alice in Wonderland.

With multiple sizes and frames to choose from, individuals can customize their orders—from an 11’’ x 14’’ print on paper or gallery–wrapped canvas ($59.00) to a 20’’ x 20’’ print in a natural or black wood frame ($150.00).

All artwork comes from the photo library operated by the Walt Disney Archives. Comprised largely of original negatives, the roughly 4 million photos rarely leave their cold storage facilities to see the light of day. As more and more digital copies have been created, the Archives is offering this special opportunity to own a print from its one-of-a-kind collection.

Show Your Disney Side with your Holiday Cookies this Year!

cookies
cookies

cookies

To me the holidays mean family and at a close second are COOKIES! Who doesn’t love cookies? They’re fun to make, fun to eat, great to give as a gift – and they can be a great place to show your Disney side!

The best and easiest cookies to use for all decorating are sugar cookies, but gingerbread cookies are great, too! There are also a lot of great ways out there to customize each cookie:

Cookie Cutters – There are so many amazing Disney inspired cookie cutters out there! But don’t worry, if you don’t have Disney cookie cutters you can use any shapes that you do have and deck them out with Disney inspired decorations. A great example for this would be a gingerbread person iced in the colors of your favorite characters – just like they do at the Parks! You can also use a knife to cut out Disney shapes.

Icing – I love icing, do you? Something as simple as food coloring can transform your cookies from simple to amazing. Whether you use a piping bag, a paint brush, or even just a knife you can use icing to add some color and Character to your cookies. If you’re really artistic you could even use themes from your favorite park or ride to decorate your cookies.

Chocolate – Yum! Whether you add the chocolate to the inside of your cookies or decorate the outside with melted chocolate it is a great way to add something extra special. There are also so many great different colors of melting chocolate available out there!

Sprinkles – So much fun! Great for adding some sparkle and more color. You can even find Disney sprinkles online.

While Rice Krispy Treats aren’t technically cookies, they are often found on the cookie table and they can be decorated just as easily as sugar or gingerbread cookies. They are also something that can be found all over the Disney Parks – so creating your own will not only help you show off your Disney side, but it might also help your fill that place in your heart that is empty when you’re missing Disney.

Do you have a Mickey or other Disney character waffle ironShow Your Disney Side with your Holiday Cookies this Year!? Spoon some of your favorite cookie dough into your waffle iron and have your Disney cookies in half the time of baking them in the oven!

Want to do something even more special this holiday season? Throw a Disney cookie decorating party!

It can be with just your kid or maybe invite some of their friends over. Don’t have kids but have nieces and nephews? Invite them over for some delicious fun. Or you can even just invite some of your friends over and feel like kids again!

Tips for a great, fun and stress free party:

  • Have the dough for the cookies made and decorations set out before your guests arrive.
  • Have a multiple bowls of icing and sprinkles as well as multiple different cookie cutters, if you’re going to be using cookie cutters.
  • Set out some snacks for your guest to enjoy while they wait for their cookies to bake and while they create their Disney inspired holiday masterpieces. Cookies that you made before the party or even some store bought cookies, pretzels, Disney treats, or fruit are great options.
  • After decorating enjoy some of your creations and maybe some hot chocolate.
  • Have containers or bags for your guests to take home the cookies that they haven’t eaten!

What’s your favorite holiday cookie? Let us know in the comments how you can use it to show your Disney side!

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to go bake some Disney inspired holiday cookies!

My name is Miriya Whitaker and I am a travel agent with World of Magic Travel! I love Disney and I love cookies! Contact me at [email protected] to start planning your next magical vacation so that you can have Disney cookies in a Disney Park! Also, follow me on Facebook!

The Force awakens at Disney Parks with the addition of some new Star Wars experiences debuting in both California and Florida just in time for the Dec. 18 release of the new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Celebrating all things Star Wars, the exciting experiences at Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will entertain fans of the movie saga and guests who are looking forward to future Star Wars-themed lands.

New experiences debuting on both coasts include:

Star Wars Launch Bay

Special Character Encounters: After entering a themed atrium complete with authentic replicas of Star Wars props, guests journey to the dark side and come face to face with Darth Vader in a 360-degree immersive area themed around the Star Destroyer, or they may choose the light side by stepping into a makeshift Rebel base to meet the most famous co-pilot in the galaxy, Chewbacca.

Launch Bay Theater – Guests hear directly from the creative minds behind the Star Wars saga in a short video that includes exclusive interviews with the directors, writers, producers, key movie crew members and Imagineers who bring the saga to life.

The Cantina – This setting, inspired by the unsavory “hives of scum and villainy” in the Star Wars galaxy, is a fun place to explore and take photos near elements of the cantina, such as a holochess game table.

Star Wars Game Center – Guests will play current and upcoming video games, including new Disney Infinity 3.0 content created exclusively for this location.

Themed Galleries – Special immersive galleries featuring authentic replicas of movie props, starships and more are located throughout Star Wars Launch Bay.

Guests looking to relive – or discover – the stories from the Star Wars saga, or be introduced to the iconic characters, including ones from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will watch an abridged, cinematic reel celebrating the Star Wars saga (episodes I-VII) in a theater setting. The movie connects iconic scenes from the movies in fun new ways, following the journey of Luke Skywalker.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue

Fans of this popular attraction will experience journeys involving new characters and adventures from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Based on the Star Wars movies, Star Tours takes guests to multiple Star Wars destinations where they interact with characters from throughout the saga. And it is all in Dolby 3D. With an eye-popping digital presentation leveraging Dolby 3D to deliver a vivid and realistic experience, a dramatic musical score and motion simulator-based technology, guests are immersed in the Star Wars galaxy like never before on a theme park attraction.

Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple

Location: Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park in California beginning Dec. 8; Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida now open.

This popular entertainment offering is being reimagined with new characters and a new villain to battle from Star Wars Rebels, the popular Disney XD series. Younglings will be magically transported to a secret and ancient Jedi temple where they will face villains such as Darth Vader and the Seventh Sister Inquisitor from Star Wars Rebels, and discover if they have the makings of a true Jedi.

Stormtrooper Patrols

Location: Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park in California; Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.

As guests enjoy the sights and attractions, they may come face-to-face with First Order stormtroopers who patrol the area near Star Wars Launch Bay and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue.

Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Resort

Location: Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park in California now open.

The classic Space Mountain attraction is reimagined as Hyperspace Mountain, thrusting guests into the darkness for an action-packed battle between Rebel X-wings and Imperial TIE fighters.

More Galactic Adventures

Adding to the fun, guests at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will enjoy tasty food and beverages inspired by a galaxy far, far away. More unique Star Wars experiences will make their galactic debuts:

Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular” at Walt Disney World Resort

Location: Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida beginning nightly Dec. 18.

Guests will be treated to a spectacular finish to their park visit with a dazzling Star Wars-themed fireworks show set to memorable Star Wars music from throughout the saga.

The new experiences further expand the Star Wars presence ahead of the new Star Wars-themed lands coming to the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Groundbreaking in California and Florida is expected in 2016.
