Disney just made it easier for Florida residents to get their hands on a Walt Disney World Annual Pass—by lowering the required down payment! But before you start planning your next park day, there’s a small tradeoff to consider.
Previously, Florida residents using the Monthly Payment Program had to put down a hefty $205 when purchasing a new annual pass. Now, that upfront cost has been dramatically reduced to just $99—a move that makes passes more accessible for those who want to spread out their payments. However, to balance out the lower down payment, monthly payments have increased by about $8 across all tiers. The total cost of the pass remains the same, but if you’re opting for the monthly plan, you’ll see a slightly higher bill each month.
The Pixie Dust and Pirate Passes remain exclusive to Florida residents, while the Sorcerer Pass is available to both Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club members. The Incredi-Pass is the only tier available to everyone, including out-of-state guests. All passes come with perks like up to 20% off select dining and merchandise and free standard theme park parking. However, blockout dates and reservation limits still apply depending on your pass type.
It’s important to note that the down payment is only required for first-time purchases. If you renew your pass in subsequent years, your total cost will simply be divided into 12 equal payments—no extra down payment needed (which will also result in the monthly payment amount increasing to cover the entire cost of the pass).
Disney fans who prefer to pay in full upfront still have that option, and it remains slightly cheaper than the monthly plan. And as always, the 0% APR financing on the Florida Resident Monthly Payment Program means you won’t be paying extra in interest over time.

A Hole-in-Fun Update! Winter Summerland Mini Golf Undergoing Refurbishment in 2025
Fore! If you’re planning to swing by Winter Summerland Miniature Golf at Walt Disney World this spring, you might need to adjust your course—literally! Santa’s off-season retreat will be getting a little extra pixie dust with a refurbishment scheduled from April 28 to June 16, 2025. But don’t pack up your putter just yet! While both the Winter Course and Summer Course are set for updates, one course will remain open, ensuring guests can still enjoy some merry mini-golf magic.
This festive, elf-approved golf spot is anything but par for the course. Designed by Santa himself (because even jolly old St. Nick needs a vacation), Winter Summerland is where the elves go to tee off when they’re not busy building toys. The courses were inspired by a Florida snowstorm Santa discovered one Christmas Eve, leading to two distinct 18-hole adventures:
🏖️ The Summer Course brings sunshine, sandcastles, and surfboards to your round, with holiday ornaments hanging from palm trees, peppermint-striped inner tubes, and even a melting snowman reminding you that Christmas can be celebrated in any climate. Just make sure not to wake Santa—he’s catching some zzz’s under the beach sand!
❄️ The Winter Course takes guests straight to the North Pole (well, almost), where hockey sticks, giant peppermints, and a melting ice castle create a chilly challenge. But watch out for Squirty the Snowman—this frosty trickster will give unsuspecting golfers an unexpected splash!
While tee times won’t be available for advance booking during the refurbishment, walk-ups will be welcome for the open course. Just check with the mini-golf entrance for same-day availability, or call (407) WDW-PLAY for future booking details after the refurbishment wraps up.
