Bold and Colorful Pop Art Disney Giclees

Disney giclees

I truly love bold pop art, especially when it gives an artistic spin to some of my favorites. These brilliant Disney Giclees ArtByLPrentice on Etsy, are a fabulous combination of Pop Art and Disney.

These gorgeous prints are created with original art. They feature cell shaded style designs with classic Disney characters and Park Icons. The Disney Giclees come printed on enhanced matte, 192 gsm, 10.3 mil art paper, for longevity and quality. The designs are open editions, so you won’t have to worry about not being able to find your favorite piece. I also love how all of them have similar hues and tones, so they would make incredible mix and match pieces for decorating any room. I’m obsessing over the Fire Brigade print because my son loves Mickey and Fire Trucks, so I think he’d love that one for his bedroom. There are so many designs from characters, to Park monuments, even park attractions, be sure to check them out!

What do you think of these enchanting pop art Disney Giclees?

Bay Lake Tower Valet Parking being tested for Disney Vacation Club Villas

13461015_1450687961608786_1619635207_o

It seems that Disney is testing out a new parking option for guests staying at the Disney Vacation Club Villas at Bay Lake Tower: valet parking. WDW News Today reports that the valet has been set up and signs are out for the new service, directly outside the entrance to Bay Lake Tower. In related news, there is also a rumor that Disney’s Magical Express may soon start dropping guests off at the Bay Lake Tower entrance, instead of at the main entrance for The Contemporary. It seems that Bay Lake Tower guests have found the walk to the main lobby a bit of an inconvenience, so this must be Disney’s way of working on the issue to make guests happy.

What do you think of the new service? If you stay at Bay Lake Tower will you take advantage of it?

Disney Cast Member shares a bit of Disney Magic with Family Visiting from the UK

WH_10x20 storyboard_3 image horiz_basics_blog

In the wake of all the bad news in the world, and all the guests complaining about this, that, and the other thing that didn’t go right during their Disney vacation, it’s nice to see a heartwarming post of appreciation for Disney Magic once in a while.

The Speller family is currently visiting Walt Disney World from the UK, and Mark Speller recently posted about a wonderful experience they just had with a Cast Member:

My family and I were on holiday in Florida and today we went to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

One of the Disney park employees found us the perfect spot to watch the Disney parade in the disabled section as my little girl is disabled. We said thank you to him and he bent down to our little girl (Courtney) and asked if she was having a good day and who her favorite characters are? With that he waved good bye and walked off. Just as the parade was about to start this employee returned with a bag in his hand and said to my daughter (Courtney) “Mickey Mouse wants you to have this”.
When my little girl opened the bag, to her amazement was a Mickey & Mini Mouse cuddly toy. We were all surprised and our little girl was bursting with joy. Once the parade had finished this employee returned again and asked my daughter if she had meet his BOSS. To our astonishment he had arranged for the whole family to meet the one and only Mickey Mouse. The employees name is Gerard. We want this post shared because Gerard didn’t know that our little girl (Courtney) is going blind due to a rare genetic condition called Choen syndrome. ….
Gerard, not only did you touch our hearts with your kindness and compassion you have created a memory for our daughter that will last a life time. Thank you.

I sure hope the Speller Family continues to have a magical vacation for the remainder of their time at Walt Disney World. Isn’t Disney Magic wonderful??

Top Disney World Souvenirs For Kids

yeti

yeti

The struggle is real – to find the kids a souvenir that they like, you like, and isn’t absurdly expensive can seem near impossible, and add in that it ideally should be something they can actually get some practical use out of – well, forget it, right? WRONG! If you plan ahead and look around, you’ll see that there are plenty of great, useful things you can purchase for your kids at Walt Disney World.

So read on for my top picks for Disney World Souvenirs for kids:

Pens/Pencils: The classic Mickey head shaped pen is a great small, inexpensive souvenir that they can bring back to school with them, and they come in tons of styles (and pencil versions too!). Disney also makes sets of nicer pens/pencils, as well as packs of colored pencils, crayons, markers, etc – perfect for your little artist. Another good choice to go along with those is a notebook/journal or Disney coloring book – I always loved having a journal to write/sketch in, and well – you’re NEVER too old to color, in my opinion!

Dining/Dinnerware: Every kid has to eat, right? So serve up those chicken nuggets and mac and cheese at home in style – with a Disney cute bowl or plate. Even my son (who is only 18 months old!) recognizes when one of his favorite characters is on his dinner plate or cup, so these are good for kids of all ages. A reusable water bottle is also a really useful souvenir – and the Parks offer them in a variety of styles/characters.

Deck Of Cards/Board Game: Normally anything that falls into the “toy” category is tricky when it comes to the question of “will they actually USE it at home?” – but there are a few toys that might actually get some use by the kids, and the adults too! Disney has several different styles of decks of cards for sale (including awesome haunted mansion themed ones, and star wars ones too!), and they sell some great Disney themed games too – like Tower of Terror Jenga, Haunted Mansion life, Disney Candyland, Muppets Yahtzee, assorted jigsaw puzzles, and more. I personally LOVE a good family game night – so these are all things that me and my family would get a ton of use out of.

A Bag: No matter what age, there’s always plenty of STUFF that kids need when you take them places – so why not buy them their very own Disney backpack or suitcase? There are tons of options to choose from, and they will get such a thrill out of having something as adult as their very own suitcase! And backpacks come in handy all the time – school, camp, weekend at Grandma’s – the possibilities are endless, and it’s definitely something they will get a lot of use out of.

There are some souvenirs I tend to steer the kids away from – including glow sticks/light up toys, those fans that you fill with water and can mist yourself with (cool when you’re in Florida, but not so useful at home), large stuffed animals, small ones are ok, and costume/dress up items – as they tend to be VERY expensive at the Parks, and if they want them badly enough, you can usually find them online for cheaper.

Hopefully you find this list helpful and keep these suggestions in the back of your mind when heading to Walt Disney World – they can help you save precious suitcase space, and money too!

All new Pete’s Dragon Poster Revealed

PD_Payoff_1-Sheet_v4_Lg

Today Walt Disney Pictures released the official movie poster for their upcoming live-action film “Pete’s Dragon“. The new poster showcases the green, furry look of Elliott the dragon, something director David Lowery wanted him to have to help execute his warmth and friendliness.

In addition to the new poster, the latest trailer will also be released tomorrow. To celebrate the countdown to the film’s August release, the film’s star Bryce Dallas Howard will be on Disney’s Facebook Live Monday afternoon.

The film is a re-make of the 1967 Disney film, using a computer generated dragon as opposed to the 2-D dragon of the original. “Pete’s Dragon” will be released August 12th, and if you missed the last trailer you can check it out below:

Orlando’s nightclub gunman scouted Disney Springs as a potential attack location

According to People.com, NBC and a federal law enforcement source Omar Mateen the gunman in the Orlando nightclub Pulse mass shooting may have been checking out Disney Springs in Walt Disney World for his attack.

Oman Mateen and his wife, Noor Zahi Salman visited Walt Disney World in April and according to Salman her husband Marteen had been “scouting Downtown Disney and Pulse [nightclub] for attacks.”

Unlike the theme parks in Walt Disney World, Disney Springs does not have metal detectors and security. That may be why this was one of Marteen’s locations. Why he chose one over the other is still unknown.

Our thoughts are with all the family and friends who lost love ones in this senseless attack.

Good2Grow Nutritious Disney Themed Drinks on the Go

Good2Grow Summer

I am always looking for nutritious drinks for my little guy, that I can convince him to drink while on the go. The Good2Grow drinks with the Disney Character toppers has always been a helping hand when needing something on the go.

One of my favorite aspects of this product is that they have these fun Character toppers, that fascinates my child, but also doesn’t look “babyish” like a sippy cup. These are reusable, and refillable so even when the delicious juice inside is gone, you can refill them with water, or other beverages. These add a touch of Disney magic no matter where we are, and also make great bottles for touring the Disney Parks. Having always been a fan, I was delighted when I received  a few samples of the new “Juicy Waters” variety. The Juicy Waters are organic flavored waters, that really hit the spot with my little guy. The waters were highly refreshing, while not to sweet or rich in the hot Florida sun. I’m also a big fan of their Fruit & Veggie Blend juices, which have a full serving of fruits and vegetables in each one.

Good2Grow

Having our favorite Disney characters to choose from, really just make these a great drink choice, but there’s also lots of other great reasons to love these! Not only does each bottle come with a fun reusable character topper, the juices also contain no added sugar, are non-GMO and contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Disney toppers include classic characters (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Tinker Bell) and princesses (Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine), as well as beloved movie and TV characters from “Frozen,” “Cars,” “Toy Story,” “Doc McStuffins” and “Sofia the First.” There are additional topper lines featuring characters from Disney’s “Star Wars” and Marvel portfolios. My little one has recently become obsessed with Captain America, and the Good2Grow Captain America bottle toppers have been a great reward for him.

Good2Grow on the Go

Good2Grow has three product lines:

  • Organic Juicy Waters: Stay happy and hydrated with flavored waters that come in Grape or Fruit Punch varieties, and are also USDA certified organic.
  • 100% Fruit Juice: Serving up 3/4-cup of fruit in each bottle, these drinks are made with 100% juice and come in Apple Juice or Fruit Punch flavors.
  • Fruit and Veggie Blends: Even picky or veggie-averse eaters will enjoy the Strawberry Kiwi or Tropical Fruit Medley flavors, which contain one combined serving of fruits and veggies, are made with all natural flavors and contain 22% less sugar than 100% juice.

Having been a fan of these for years, it really was a pleasure to try out a new variety. They have always been great for car rides, Walt Disney World trips, park days, lunch boxes and so much more. The tops have spill-proof technology that keeps the juice in the bottle and off your clothes, stroller or car seats. And the bottles and toppers are reusable, so you can bring them to the park and refill with water for easy hydration. They are also great for transitioning from “sippy cups” to “big kid” cups and bottles.

Have you tried the Good2Grow Character topper juices before, what do you think of them?

On Sunday they took to Facebook, twitter and other social media to express their feelings on the shooting.

Most casts stood forming hearts with their hands and arms as Kevin O’Brien, theme park business veteran, took photos.

His posts read:

“Keep them coming Disney! This is family. We are one, strong band of people. From entertainment, costuming, techs, attractions, merchandise, custodial, and all other depts. Show that there is love out there!”

O’Brien said in a Facebook message: “My friends are my family and a lot of them go to Pulse, I’m here to just say that we are all thinking of friends and families and the love ones who were hit hard with this!”

The posts have been shared more the 3,500 times and more photos have come in, most recently were performers from Heartlake City at Legoland Florida and the employees of the Transformers: The Ride 3-D at Universal Orlando. Click here to see all of the photos.

All over the world people are showing their support by donating blood which is still needed or going to the gofundme page set up by Equality Florida, you can visit that page here.

More Character Changes coming to Walt Disney World Resort

character-meet-tiana-01

In the past few months we’ve seen many character Meet and Greet changes throughout the parks. We’ve seen the addition of some, the switching of others, and even some cuts. According to Kenny The Pirate, it appears we have some more character news in that Prince Naveen will no longer be appearing with Princess Tiana to greet guests, as she is going to be moving to greet guests alongside Rapunzel at Princess Fairytale Hall inside Magic Kingdom starting June 17th. Cinderella and Aurora will be the other princess pair you can meet with at Princess Hall, while Snow White will remain available at the front of the park for meet and greets. This also means that June 16th will be the final day guests can meet with Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall. The opening of Frozen Ever After in Norway at Epcot is scheduled for June 21st, so you’ll be able to catch them there in their new Royal Summerhus once it has opened.

What do you think of Tiana’s new move and the removal of Naveen?
