According to People.com, NBC and a federal law enforcement source Omar Mateen the gunman in the Orlando nightclub Pulse mass shooting may have been checking out Disney Springs in Walt Disney World for his attack.

Oman Mateen and his wife, Noor Zahi Salman visited Walt Disney World in April and according to Salman her husband Marteen had been “scouting Downtown Disney and Pulse [nightclub] for attacks.”

Unlike the theme parks in Walt Disney World, Disney Springs does not have metal detectors and security. That may be why this was one of Marteen’s locations. Why he chose one over the other is still unknown.

Our thoughts are with all the family and friends who lost love ones in this senseless attack.
