Farewell to Muppet*Vision 3D

A Year in the Making

Creating this floral spectacle is no small feat. Behind the scenes, Disney’s skilled horticulturists spend nearly a year planning, selecting, and preparing for the holidays. At the heart of this operation is a 3.5-acre tree farm behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where the team has nurtured plants for over five decades—even before Walt Disney World opened.

With over 100 varieties of poinsettias to choose from, the design process starts early. These plants come in a range of colors, from traditional reds to crisp whites and unique shades of pink, adding pops of color throughout the parks. Some of the most striking displays include the towering 8-foot poinsettia “trees” in EPCOT’s World Celebration Gardens, which stand as seasonal showstoppers.

The Magic Makers

For Allison Brooks, a horticulture area manager who began her Disney journey as an intern 26 years ago, bringing holiday landscapes to life is a labor of love.

“I love to use my horticulture skills to bring our parks and resorts to life, especially during the holidays,” said Allison. “After all the flowers are nurtured and planted, it becomes a special moment to showcase the team’s talents and share this experience with our guests.”

Allison and her team—made up of gardeners, arborists, and more—work tirelessly in the early hours of the morning to plant poinsettias and other festive foliage. Their efforts ensure the parks are picture-perfect when guests arrive, enhancing experiences like the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

The long-dormant Reflections—A Disney Lakeside Lodge project appears to be back on track, as construction activity ramps up on the shores of Bay Lake at Walt Disney World. While Disney has yet to officially confirm the revival of this deluxe resort, the signs are hard to miss. Cranes have arrived at the site, located on the former River Country water park grounds, marking the first significant construction progress since the project was paused in 2020.

Cranes Signal a Comeback

Three cranes are now stationed at the site, with up to six expected as construction progresses. According to filings with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the cranes will remain on-site through August 2025, although that timeline can obviously be extended if needed. The site development aligns closely with the original plans for Reflections—a 10-story, nature-themed resort set to feature over 900 hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas.

The FAA filings are not the only clues hinting at Reflections’ return. Recent documents submitted to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) reference new electrical infrastructure being installed by Chen Moore and Associates under the name “Project S,” which is widely believed to be the codename for Reflections.

A Vision Resurrected

Lightning Lane Premier Pass Now Available to Guests at ANY Walt Disney World Hotel

Walt Disney World has expanded the availability of its Lightning Lane Premier Pass, a premium service offering expedited access to attractions. Starting Friday, November 22, 2024, guests staying at any Disney World Resort hotel can purchase the pass, regardless of resort category.

Previously, the Premier Pass was limited to guests at Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select hotels. This expansion makes the service accessible to a wider range of guests, including those staying at Value and Moderate Resorts.

Guests can purchase the Lightning Lane Premier Pass up to seven days before the first day of their resort stay, for their entire length of stay (up to 14 days). However, the pass remains a limited-quantity offering, so those interested are encouraged to purchase early to avoid missing out.

Pricing for the Premier Pass varies depending on the park and date, with the following ranges:

Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $119-$199 plus tax
EPCOT: $149-$249 plus tax
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $249-$349 plus tax
Magic Kingdom: $329-$449 plus tax

Story Time with Deadpool: Holiday Special at Disney California Adventure

The Merc with a Mouth is back and merrier than ever! “Story Time with Deadpool” has a holiday makeover, bringing festive fun to Disney California Adventure’s Hollywood Land.

The set is decked out for the holidays with a green garland of chimichanga ornaments, a green backdrop, and a Deadpool family portrait. The mantel is adorned with red baubles and candles, and stockings hang for Vanessa, Blind Al, and Peter. A red Christmas tree, decorated with black baubles, a silver star, and unique ornaments, stands above a Wolverine-inspired gift. Deadpool’s signature claw-marked chair and sticker-covered lamp complete the festive scene.

For this special holiday performance, Deadpool is dressed as Santa Claus, sporting a red velvet coat and hat trimmed with white fur. His trusty steed, the unicorn, is also in the holiday spirit, adorned with extra festive bells and reindeer antlers.

Breaking away from the usual Disney stories, Deadpool takes center stage with a Christmas tale of his own. We saw him retell “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. He plays the character “Santapool” in his version of the story. Deadpool references “Two Guys and A Girl”, the sitcom Ryan Reynolds was on in the late 90’s. He also mentions multiple Marvel characters including Gambit (whose accent he makes fun of).

Other jokes include Deadpool suggesting he should’ve replaced “flew like a flash” with “Quicksilver” due to “IP related reasons” since The Flash is a DC character. After finishing the story, he reminds guests to check out all the shows on Disney+ since story time is sponsored by the streaming service.

Wolverine did not appear at this story time, however, he has joined other versions. Snowtimes may vary but these were the times on the first day:
